Directed by Mark S. Waters

Jamie Lee Curtis stars as Tess Coleman, mother of 15-year-old Anna (Lindsay Lohan), in this remake of the 1976 comedy starring Jodie Foster. Mother and daughter bicker over everything -- what Anna wears, whom she likes and what she wants to do when she's older. In turn, Anna detests Tess's fiancé (Mark Harmon). When a magical fortune cookie switches their personalities, they each get a peek at how the other person feels, thinks and lives.

Summary by www.netflix.com

Unfortunately for us parents, the whole body-switching concept is old hat, but this version does it pretty well. I haven't seen the first two versions of this movie, so I can't compare them, but I can say this one is solid family entertainment. Both actresses do an excellent job of inhabiting the other body, and the rest of the movie is pretty solid. My interest waned here and there, but I liked the music. It may not have been Godsmack, but thank goodness it wasn't the typical Disney, Hillary Duff kiddy-pop. --Bill Alward, January 25, 2004
