Son-In-Law
Released 1993
Stars Pauly Shore, Carla Gugino, Lane Smith, Cindy Pickett
Directed by Steve Rash
This is a vehicle for Pauly Shore to do his Weasel schtick, and it's quite funny. It
knows exactly what it's supposed to be and doesn't overreach, and it doesn't underachieve
either like his horrendous later movies (Jury Duty, Bio-Dome, etc).
Country girl Rebecca begins college in Los Angeles. There she meets Crawl, a student R.A.,
who is crazy, unpredictable and wild. He helps her adjust to L.A. To thank him, she brings
him home for Thanksgiving. He's a big fish-out-of-water on Rebecca's Kansas farm, and her
family is flabbergasted. Later, they want to die when Rebecca and Crawl are forced to
pretend they're engaged.
