Haddonfield, Illinois October 31, 1978

"Are you going to the homecoming dance tomorrow?" asks Gregory Lee.

"I don't know. I haven't really asked anyone to go to the dance," you say holding the phone to your ear.

"Why don't you ask Annie Brackett. I hear she has a crush on you."

You roll your eyes and stare out the back window of your kitchen, "Annie Brackett has a boyfriend you idiot. She totally would turn me down." You twirl the phone cord around your finger.

"Have you heard what happened tonight?" Gregory Lee suddenly says.

"No. What happened?" Gregory Lee was silent. "Greg, what happened?"

Finally, he spoke up in a low-calm voice, "Someone killed three teenagers over at the Wallace's."

You walk to the kitchen table and sit down. "You're joking. Right?"

"I'm afraid not, my friend. It's been all over the radio." You quickly jump to your feet and turn on the small black radio on the kitchen counter. Chills suddenly run down your back as you hear the radio announcer's voice boom over the radio.

"To report again, Haddonfield police have discovered the bodies of three teenagers in the upstairs bedroom of a house in the northern part of town. Police are urging all citizen of Haddonfield to stay in doors tonight. Police have not yet released the person or persons responsible for these murders. Stay tuned for further updates as this late breaking story unfolds."

"Oh my God," you say sitting back down on the kitchen chair. You suddenly hear something fall inside your living room. "There's someone in the house."

Do you go to check out the NOISE or do you set down the phone and WALK out the back door?
