Sam stepped out of the liquid with O'neil and Teal'c and sighed relief that they were back on earth, Sam looked around and turned to O'neil "Where's Daniel?" she asked and noticed a figure leaning on the wall. She quickly ran over and propped Daniel up, she wiped away the blood that was running down his right side of his face from his temple and took off his broken glasses.
"We need medical!" O'neil shouted in to the intercom and the medical team ran out with a stretcher and they all lifted him on to the stretcher and he was taken to the infirmary.
"So what's wrong?" Colonel O'neil asked Doctor Frasier as they sat around in the conference room "Well the gate isn't my problem but I'd say he was caught in a power surge and was thrown, but I'm not mechanical" she answered from where she sat next to Captain Carter "Will he be okay?" Sam asked worriedly and Dr. Frasier nodded "He was knocked unconscious but should be fine" she answered and Sam sighed in relief.
"Sir. Dr. Jackson is coming round" a man said and General Hammond nodded "Capt. Carter, Colonel O'neil and Teal'c you can go see him now" he said and they were dismissed.
Daniel opened his eyes slowly and blinked a few times "How are you feeling?" a voice asked and he winced "Been better" he mumbled and pulled him self in to a sitting position "Where am I?" he asked putting his hand on his forehead and opened his eyes to look at a blond woman with short hair, a man with black skin and another man with white skin and an army hair cut "You're in the infirmary" the lady answered, another lady with a white coat pushed past the others and checked his pulse "Do you have a headache?" she asked and he nodded, she turned to the others "Go easy on him" she said and headed off.
Sam sat down on the bed and smiled, Daniel razed his eyebrows, she took his hand and he looked at her "Who are you?" he asked and she looked at O'neil in shock, she turned back to Daniel "I'm Sam, remember Samantha Carter" she said and he looked up at O'neil "What's my name?" he asked "Daniel Jackson" O'neil answered and Daniel lay back down in his bed realising that he had no idea who he was "Where am I?" he asked "At the base" Sam answered and stood, she turned to O'neil and Teal'c "Get Dr. Frasier".
"So it's amnesia" General Hammond said and O'neil nodded "Yes sir" "Will it go?" he asked and Sam jumped in "Only if we show him lots of familiar things and then it might wear off" she said and the general nodded "Then hop to it".
"What's more familiar than us?" Sam said and turned to O'neil who shrugged "Abydos but their gate it closed and Sha'uri is gone" he answered and turned to Teal'c "Does he have a wife on this planet?" he asked and O'neil heard a chuckle from Sam "Teal'c we only have one wife at a time on Earth" he explained and Teal'c nodded "Show him the Gate?" Sam suggested and O'neil razed his eyebrows "Might work" he said and they headed towards the infirmary.
Daniel zipped up his jacket and put on a new pair of glasses as he was led in to the gate room, when he saw the gate he gasped slightly "Excuse the language. But what the fuck is that?!?" he exclaimed and ran over to the gate to check out the symbols Sam shrugged and followed.
"This is…wow!" Daniel exclaimed as he looked at the gate and ran his fingers over the symbols, he turned to the lady called Sam who was now beside him "This is some sort of gate way?" he asked and she nodded "You remembered that?" she asked but he shook his head and looked back at the stargate "No, these symbols obviously represent an address of some kind" Daniel answered and she looked over at O'neil who grabbed Daniel's shoulders and guided him to the exit "Where am I going Colonel?" Daniel asked scared and O'neil raised his eyebrow "Sg-3's coming back" he answered and pushed him into the conference room where Daniel sat down on one side of the table and Teal'c, Sam and O'neil sat on the other side.
Daniel glanced around nervously and then looked back at his three new friends, O'neil cleared his throat "Danny, lets tell you some things and hope you remember something" Jack said and Daniel nodded and took off his glasses and rubbed his tired eyes. "Number 1: You are not scared of me" O'neil said and Daniel nodded "Secondly we are all very good friends" Daniel's face represented how confused he was "And thirdly, you and Sam are engaged" O'neil lied and Daniel raised his eyebrows and O'neil received a elbow in the ribs from Sam, she leant forward "Don't listen to him Daniel, okay?" she said and Daniel nodded "I'm really tired" he said and they all nodded, O'neil jumped up "I'll show him to his quarters" he said and led Daniel out, Sam sighed and hit her head on the table top "This sucks!" she muttered and headed to her base room.
Sam woke up at 5:00 am and got dressed and headed for Daniel's room. "Daniel? Daniel you awake?" Sam called out but got no answer, she knocked and opened the door "Daniel?" she called out but noticed he wasn't in there.
"Have you seen Daniel?" Sam asked the guard on ground level "Yeah, he came by about half an hour ago. He asked what was around here. Poor kid, I think he's finally lost it" the guard told her, she groaned "Where did he go?" she asked and he pointed towards the road "Took a jeep, sorry, that's all I know Captain" he said and she nodded and ran over to a jeep and hopped in.
Sam drove half way down the mountain but pulled in to a dirt side road and headed down it for a minute before she spotted another jeep. Daniel sat with his legs hanging over the cliff, a hundred metres below the waves crashed against the edge, he sighed and threw another rock over and then let his head return to his hands.
Sam slowly approached the figure that sat over the cliff "Daniel are you okay?" she asked sitting beside him, he continued to look at the rising sun "How did you find me?" he asked and she smiled and watched the sun too "You always come here to think" she said and he turned his head to look at her "I do?' he asked and she nodded not letting her eyes leave the rising sun. "Do you remember anything?' Sam asked "Yeah, it all comes in weird flashes and pictures" Daniel answered and she nodded and turned to him "Tell me what the pictures look like and I'll tell you what they are" she said and he nodded and threw another stone "I see… a desert and a female around my age, I think her names Sh'ari" he said Sam nodded "The desert is Abydos, the first planet any one went to through the StarGate and the lady is called Sh'ari" she replied and he turned to look at her "The StarGate is the weird thing with the symbols?" Daniel asked and she nodded "Then there's a man with a gold serpent mask, I see him a lot. And then there's that women again, but there's one scene where I'm holding a gun to the women's head and she's got her hand on your head" he said turning to her looking confused "The man with the serpents mask is Apophis, he's the enemy" Sam said and Daniel nodded "But who's the women?' he asked Sam looked away "Sh'ari is a women you met on Abydos on the first mission, you didn't know it but you were married by their laws. When it was time to go home you stayed with her on Abydos. O'neil brought you back half a year ago when Sh'ari was kidnapped and turned in to one of the aliens. Last mission we found her and Apophis and to save me you had to kill her" Sam said and tears started to roll down her cheeks.
Daniel looked over at Sam and noticed she was crying, he opened up his arm and wrapped it around her, she snuggled in and started to cry on his shoulder all over again.
Daniel stood and helped Sam up but she was still crying, he pulled her in to a hug and wrapped his arms around her, she tightened her arms around him and snuggled in to his warm chest trying to control her tears. Daniel looked down at the women in his arms and felt a large amount of affection rise, he let his feeling take over and he stroked her hair and she started to calm down, he looked over the cliff at the setting sun which had filled the sky full of blues, oranges and reds. "Sam" Daniel whispered and she looked up at him "Look at the sky" he said softly and she sniffled and turned her head, her eyes widened and a smiled slowly flickered on to her face "It's beautiful Daniel" she whispered and she felt him nod "I know" he answered and looked back up at the sky and tightened his grip around Sam, she snuggled in and rested her head on his jacket and continued to watch the sun rise.
O'neil was frantic, he had searched the base and couldn't find a single sign of Sam or Daniel and was heading up to the surface to ask the officer on duty. Daniel watched as the colours faded away to show the starting of a new day, he took in a deep breath and buried his face in Sam's hair.
"Airman!" O'neil shouted and the man turned around "What is it sir?" he asked and O'neil caught his breath "Have you seen Capt. Carter or Dr. Jackson?" O'neil asked and the Airman nodded "Dr. Jackson left an hour ago and Captain Carter would have left half an hour ago" he reported and O'neil nodded "No need to worry then" Colonel said and sat down to get his breath back while he waited for his two friends.
Sam shivered slightly and Daniel looked down and brushed a strand of blond hair away from her face, she smiled and closed her eyes, Daniel smiled and unzipped his jacket and put it around Sam "You sure?" she asked and he nodded "I have this one on also" he said and she looked at the long green button up shirt he had on "Bit big" she commented and he nodded "It's Colonel's" he answered and a small gust of wind blew some of Daniel's hair in to his face, Sam reached up and pulled it behind his ear andhe gave her a heart melting smile.
O'neil checked his watch and sighed and tapped it a few times and then rubbed his hands together and waited. Daniel slowly lowered his head and met Sam's lips half way there, they both pulled back after a minute and stared in to each others eyes, Daniel wrapped his arms around her again and softly kisses her again more passionately, after a second Sam joined in.
O'neil jumped up and jumped on the spot for a minute and then sat back down. Daniel pulled back from the kiss when a pictures started to flash across his eyes like a slide show, he suddenly felt light headed and collapsed on to his knees "Daniel what's wrong?" Sam asked urgently, kneeling beside him "I don't know" he groaned, Sam put her hand on his forehead You're burning up" she said but he wasn't listening, she jumped up and ran over to his Jeep.
O'neil looked up as he heard the phone in the small guards office ring, he ran over and picked it up "Hello?" "Oh thank god! Colonel some things wrong with Daniel" Sam shouted "Where are you?" he asked "Half a kilometre down the mountain and then you turn to the left on to a dirt road" she answered "What's wrong with Danny?" "He just collapsed. Get a doctor down here, stat!" she said "Okay".
Doctor Frasier jumped in the jeep beside Colonel O'neil and they sped down the mountain. Sam ran back over to Daniel and helped him slowly lie down, she felt his forehead again and took off his glasses "Daniel can you hear me?" she asked but got response, Daniel's eyes were distant and his breathing was all muddled up "Daniel, I know you can hear me. O'neil's coming don't worry" she reassured and stroked his hair.
O'neil pulled up beside Daniel's and Sam's two jeeps and jumped out, Dr. Frasier was already out and was kneeling beside Daniel who was lying on the ground. Dr. Frasier felt Daniel's forehead and turned around to O'neil who was still standing "Get the first aid kit" she demanded and he ran over to the jeep and returned in a minute and handed her it. She took out a small touch and pulled up Daniel's eye lids because he has pasted out, she looked up at Sam who looked very stressed out "We need to get him to a hospital" Dr. Frasier said and clipped the first aid kit back up, O'neil picked up Daniel and started to walk over to the jeep.
Sam watched as O'neil picked Daniel up, Daniel's head being unsupported his hair was hanging down, she ran over to them and supported his head, O'neil gave her a thankful smile and they continued to the jeep.
Dr. Frasier flopped in to her chair in her office, they'd gotten Daniel stable but she still didn't know what was wrong, she looked up as O'neil and Samantha entered. "Hi, I know we're the last people you want to see right now, but how is he?" Jack asked worriedly, the doc stood "He's stable. You can go see him" she said and O'neil mouthed a thank you and they left, Dr. Frasier sat back down and fell asleep.
After Sam and Jack had visited Daniel who was still in his coma they went down to General Hammond's office to tell him how Daniel was. Daniel slowly opened his eyes, he groaned and closed them again, he sat up still with his eyes closed and then opened them, there were a heap of tubes in his wrist and suction things stuck to his chest. He reached over and turned the sound on the machines down and started to remove cords.
Dr Frasier looked at the readings of Daniel and widened her eyes when suddenly there was no pulse. Daniel pulled the small tube from his nose and tossed it on to the bed also, he pulled on a large button up green shirt and put on his boots, ran a hand through his hair and was almost at the door when O'neil, Sam, Teal'c and Dr Frasier came around the corner and spotted him.
"Oh man!" Daniel muttered out loud and Dr Frasier grabbed one arm and O'neil took the other and pulled him down into a seat. "What the fuck do you think your doing?!?" O'neil demanded and Daniel raised his eyebrows "Cool it O'neil" he muttered and O'neil started to get angrier "I won't cool it! Why should I cool…" but he stopped and looked down at Daniel slowly "You called me O'neil? Not Colonel?" Jack asked surprised and Daniel gave him a questioning look, O'neil crouched down and looked Daniel in the eye "What do I normally call you?" O'neil tested "Either Danny-boy or kid" he answered "And do you like it?" he asked again "No, I hate it.
Why does ever one on this stupid base treat me like a kid!" Daniel exclaimed and a big smile appeared on O'neil's face "You remember" he stated and ruffled Danny's hair like a father would and looked up at the others, Sam's face lit up and the same with Doc Frasier's. "Okay Danny, one more question that only you as the real you would know" O'neil said and Daniel nodded "Shoot" Daniel answered and ran a hand through his hair "Am I married?" O'neil asked and Daniel raised his eyebrows "No, you got a divorce. But… you do have the hots for the doc" Daniel teased and Sam grinned, O'neil stood embarrassed "I think you should get some rest" O'neil quickly said and left, Daniel grinned and Dr. Frasier pointed to the bed and he nodded "Okay" the doctor left and Teal'c followed but turned back when Sam didn't follow "Are you coming Captain Carter?" he asked and she glanced at him "Yeah, I'll be just a minute" and he left. Sam turned around to face Daniel who was pulling his boots off. Daniel felt Sam's gaze and looked up. He threw his boots into the corner, stood up and looked her in the eye.
Sam cleared her throat and gave Daniel a smiled and walked over to him "How you feeling?" she asked and he gave her a famous lop sided grin "Bit shaken up" he admitted "I'll go" she said and turned to leave but he took her hand and she turned around "Please stay" he said "I don't want to be alone again" he added and she nodded and he let go off her hand "Thank you" he said "What for?" she asked and he smiled and took both her hands and looked in to her eyes "For making me remember" he answered "Do you remember every thing?" Sam asked "No, I can't remember some small things when I didn't remember who I was" Daniel said "Oh" Sam said and broke eye contact, Daniel put his hand under her chin and made her look him in the eye "But I do remember this" he said and kissed her softly. Daniel pulled back after a few seconds and opened his eyes and Sam did the same and looked in to Daniel's bright blue eyes "Um…sorry" he apologised and a smile appeared on her face and he looked surprised "A smile is good right?" he asked and she nodded "Yeah, a smile is good" she answered and pulled his face to her and kissed him deeply, he smiled in to her mouth and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her even more deeply.
Dr. Frasier walked around the corridor and smiled when she saw Sam and Daniel kissing, she turned around and walked in the other direction with a big smile on her face. Sam finally pulled back and wrapped her arms around Daniel's waist and put her head against his chest and took a deep breath, Daniel buried his face in her hair and closed his eyes and tightened his arms around her. Sam looked up "Don't worry, you're not alone" she whispered and he smiled and she put her head back on his chest and closed her eyes and preyed for time to stop.
