"Looks pretty dead" O'neil shouted to the others who nodded "Oh well lets check around" he said and they moved out.
Daniel kicked a stone as he walked and ran to catch up to it so that he could kick it again, O'neil smiled and shook his head "Simple mind simple pleasures" he muttered and Sam grinned from were she was beside him "Yeah but he doesn't have a simple mind" she said and he nodded "Yeah but he is very young" he answered and she nodded "Is that your answer for every thing?" she asked and he shook his head "Almost though" he answered but looked up when he heard a shout from Daniel.
Daniel looked around the hole he had fallen in to "Help!" he shouted and Sam's head appeared about five meters above "Are you okay?" she asked worriedly and he looked down at himself "I think so" he said and dusted himself off and took off his broken glasses and shook his dirty hair.
O'neil and Teal'c appeared at the top and O'neil chuckled "Can't you stay out of trouble for one mission" he asked and Daniel sigh "Just get me outta here" he said and O'neil disappeared to get a rope, Daniel turned around as he heard a weird noise "Daniel what's wrong?" she asked and he looked back up "There's something else down here" he said and disappeared "Daniel come back!" she shouted but he didn't "Men" she muttered and grabbed the rope from O'neil and lowered it down and then tied the other end to a tree stump.
Daniel got down on his hands and knees and pulled himself through the small tunnel in to a small chamber, he slowly crawled along and finally found what was making the noise. He slowly sat down and let the little yellow wolf eye him finally it walked up to him and started to lick his face, Daniel picked it up and noticed it had a large cut on it's leg "Did you fall down here little fella?" Daniel asked and it barked in reply, Daniel unzipped his jacket and put the wolf in and then zipped it up and let it's head stick out and then crawled back out on his back.
Daniel slowly climbed up the rope and finally got to the top, Sam pulled the rope up and untied it.
Sg-1 set up camp and Daniel sat down by the fire and let the wolf he had name 'Blue' snuggle in beside him, no one else knew about Blue yet, O'neil, Teal'c and Sam were looking for more wood and didn't want him to come cause he had bruised a few ribs.
Blue licked Daniel plate and finished the macaroni and cheese and curled up and went to sleep in Daniel's pack.
Sam lay down beside Daniel who was asleep and smiled, she curled up beside him and drifted off.
Daniel woke up to a tongue licking his face and opened his eyes to see Blue trying to play with him, Sam groaned from where she lay beside him and he quickly got up and took Blue on a little walk.
Sam opened her eyes to see Daniel playing with a small wolf that was white and yellow, it was fetching the stick when Daniel threw it and running back flat out and giving it to him, Daniel was smiling the most she had ever seen and she suddenly felt very happy.
"Made a new friend Daniel?" Sam asked as she sat beside him and he glanced over "Yeah" he answered and picked up the small dog who started to lick him again "Sam meet Blue" he said and she patted the little dog who then started to lick her "Where'd you find him?" she asked "He was the noise down the hole" he explained and she picked the little wolf up "He's a wolf?" she asked surprised and Daniel nodded "I couldn't leave him down there so…" he prompted "Daniel no. You can't take him back home" she said and Daniel gave her the puppy dog eyes "Daniel you know what General Hammond will say" she added and Daniel nodded "I know" he finally said and threw the stick and Blue took off after it again "Well we're here for three days so make the most of it" she said and hugged him "He belongs here" she added and headed back to camp.
Blue grew each day and was to a persons half way thigh by the time sg-1 had to leave.
Daniel gave the big wolf one last scruffle and dialed in the seven co-ordinates and nodded to O'neil who stepped though the gate, Teal'c followed "Come on Daniel" Sam said and he nodded and waved to Blue and then followed Sam through.
Blue watched his master step in to the liquid and followed.
Daniel fell out of the liquid and something big landed on top of him, he looked up to find Blue sitting on him proudly, Daniel smiled and gave the dog a pat, Sam came over and grinned "Seems to me you've got a apartment buddy" she said and Daniel nodded and gave Blue another pat.
