Sam, O'neil and Teal'c came out of the gate and landed in a pile in front of the Earth stargate, Sam rolled off of the others and stood slowly the other two did the same and all thought about how they had gotten back to Earth, Dr. Frasier rushed out and quickly checked them "Where's Jackson?" Dr. Frasier and the three all turned and stared at the stargate "He's gone" O'neil whispered he then turned and walked out towards his base room, Carter and Teal'c followed him leaving an astonished doctor behind.
Daniel slowly walked around the cell with both his hands on the cool stone wall, he pushed trying to find away out, he gave up and slumped against the wall.
Sam and Teal'c entered O'neil's room and found him lying on his bed "You all right?" Sam asked as she sat beside him, he turned to her "No, are you?" he asked and she shook his head "What happened exactly?" Teal'c asked "I remember us three being hit over the head, Daniel opened the gate dragged us up to it, then he was blasted and fell, Sam crawled over to him and told me he was dead" O'neil said and looked up at his two friends, Sam was crying and Teal'c was looking straight ahead "He died saving us" Sam muttered and Teal'c looked her in the eye "Where's his body?" he asked "I remember being sucked in to the gate and his body stayed behind" O'neil stated looking back up at the ceiling "What do we tell General Hammond?" Teal'c asked "The truth, that Dr. Jackson is dead".
Daniel looked up and tried to find his glasses but gave up and squinted at the figure before him "Who are you?" he managed to choke out, the figure stepped forward and Daniel found himself staring at a seven foot tall Goauld with the head piece fashioned as the shape of a bird with a wickedly curved beak "I am Throth the Egyptian god of the moon and of wisdom, the measurer of time, the supreme magician, the patron of intellectual pursuits, the recorder of the judgement rendered at death . . ." it said and Daniel cut in "I get the idea" he said and slowly stood and walked up to Throth "Why am I here?" Daniel asked and the bird head cocked to one side "You are here for the ceremony" it said and Daniel looked confused "No I'm not, I'm going to find my friends" Daniel stated but was blocked by a staff "They think your dead" it said and Daniel turned to face it "Then let me tell them that I'm alive" he said and Throth shook his head "No, you are to stay here" it stated and turned the door closed and Daniel ran up to it, he pounded on it "Let me go! let me go!" he shouted but finally gave up, he lied down on the cold floor and tried to sleep.
Colonel O'neil and Commander Carter stepped forward with the folded flag and reef, they let it float on the surface of the stargate and watched it disappear, they saluted and turned to the General, who nodded and the room saluted the stargate, the iris closed and the light in the room vanished and with it Daniel and a part of Sg-1.
Sam looked at Daniel's fish tank and sighed, she turned back to the job at hand and started to look through his books again, one caught her attention and she pulled it out turning to O'neil who was looking at an old Egyptian game looked up "It's a diary for every planet we've been to" she told him and a look of interest came over his face "Do tell" he said and Sam smiled sadly, she wiped the forming tears away and grabbed the middle diary she opened it and turned to the back pages and started to read "Colonel O'neil thinks I'm a dick head although I can't blame him, I do study and always say to much, I don't even no why they keep me, by now I would have thought they would have dumped me on some different planet. Just because I don't have a life doesn't mean I don't want one, my life is always been pretty screwed up and Colonel O'neil, Commander Carter and Teal'c sure make me feel screwed up, they stick together and leave me out, just like my childhood, but I guess their to good for me, sometimes I wonder why I still live but then again Sam, Jack and Teal'c need me to do all their dirty work so at least I get paid" Sam read and her tears ran down her cheeks, she looked up at O'neil "He thought we hated him" O'neil looked down at his boots and Teal'c looked up at Sam "I am truly sorry for you loss" he stated and walked out of the apartment, Sam stared at O'neil "You never treated him nice, you didn't even egnolaged he was there!" she shouted and he stood "You are so full of bull, I ignored him because he reminded me of my son!" O'neil shouted and ran out of the room, Sam collapsed on the floor and started to cry all over again.
Throth led Daniel out of the room and to the stargate "You keep you end of the deal" it said and Daniel nodded, the stargate opened and Daniel stepped through.
*All personal report to stations* the speaker sounded and Sam, O'neil and Teal'c ran to the bay were they met general Hammond "What's up?" Carter asked, and the general turned to the team "Some thing's trying to come through the stargate" he said and Sam turned to the other two "Look I'm sorry about before" she said and O'neil cut in "No I'm sorry I was the one being the total bastard" he said and Teal'c just smiled to the best of his ability "The diary I read was the only depressing one it was after Shu'ri dissapeared" she added and O'neil smiled in relief, they all turned back to the General "Are you letting it come through?" Colonel O'neil asked and the general nodded "Yes but we have guards as you can see" he said and Sam, Teal'c and O'neil stood just before the ramp, ready with their guns, a figure stepped through the iris, it was wearing a SG uniform and had a helmet on, it's coat was tied around it's waist and it had a gun at it's side.
The soldiers aimed their weapons, the general stepped forward "Throw down your weapon" he shouted and the figure threw it to the side, it slowly reached up and undid the buckle that held his helmet on, he pulled it of and tossed it to the ground, Sam stared at the person and gripped O'neil's arm and Teal'c's, they slowly made their way towards the dazed figure.
Daniel stood dazed by the quick travel, he slowly found his brain, he blinked a few times and the room came slowly in to focus, he concentrate on a few figures slowly coming towards him, he looked hard at the faces and they finally came clear, he stared in shock realising the Throth had kept it's end of the bargain "Sam" he said to the best of his ability, she ran forward and leapt in to his arms, she pulled him closed, O'neil and Teal'c came up and patted Daniel on the back, General came up behind them and pointed to Daniel "But your dead!" he spluttered, Dr, Frasier walked up to Jackson and led him towards the hospital, after a check she gave him a sleep injure and went to tell Colonel O'neil.
"Sir, I have checked Dr. Jackson and he does not have any shots or burns, but you can go in if you want he should be awake in half an hour" she said before heading off down the base corridors.
Daniel felt the blast hit him and fell to the floor. A large set of doors opened and he pulled himself out of the coffin like bed, he looked at his side were the burn had been and found it gone.
Daniel sat up suddenly and drew in a few hard gasps of air, O'neil and Sam, who were sitting beside him listening to his mumbling ran out and called a doctor, Dr. Frasier faced in and put a mask over Daniel's head and pressed a button, Daniel's lungs stopped burning and he started to breath normal, Sam grabbed his hand and slowly pushed him back to lie on the bed, Daniel turned to her looking in to her eyes with his blood shot blue ones he whispered something and Sam leaned closer "What was that?" she asked "Must get to Abydos" he whispered and Sam pulled back up, O'neil leaned over to her "What did he say?" he asked "Must get to Abydos" she answered as Daniel fell back unconscious.
Daniel pulled on his jacket and slowly crept out of the base hospital room were Sam, O'neil and Teal'c were asleep, he moved down the corridor and in to the stargate room, he pulled on his helmet and buckled it up, he zipped up his jacket which was a little worn and keyed in his access code, the light flashed green and he grabbed a gun and headed towards the gate, he pushed in the simbals and on the seventh a tunnel of water shot out, he stood staring at it for a minute before he stepped forward, and inch from the gate he slowly put his hand to the watery gate and let his hand stay there "Daniel! STOP!" O'neil screamed from the entrance to the room "Gotta go!" Daniel shouted and jumped through the gate "Shit!" O'neil muttered and ran after him, Sam and Teal'c followed him through the iris.
Daniel picked himself of the dirt floor and noticed his three friends lying next to the gate, he pulled out his hand gun and loaded it, it clicked off safety and he walked over to them, he stood over O'neil and aimed the gun "Get up!" he barked and O'neil opened his eyes, fear crossed through them as he slowly sat up with Teal'c and Carter following "Jackson put the gun down" he said slowly but Jackson shook his head "I was trying to protect you" he said not moving the gun "Well it's to late now" Sam said and stood "What are you doing here?" she asked him and he put the gun back on safety "When I was shot, Troth decided I was worth saving, he brought me back to life and threw me in a cell, I argued for days and finally got him to release me, I came back to earth on the condition I came back for the festival" he said and turned and started to walk out of the pyramid "Where are you going?!?" O'neil shouted drawing his firearm "FREEZE, I'll shoot" O'neil shouted decided he wanted answers, Jackson turned to him and took off his glasses and he put them in his pocket "You won't shoot me" he simply stated and walked up to O'neil, Daniel's face was an inch from the gun "O'neil, if I didn't come back they were going to attack earth and they said they would murder you three and hand me your heads" he said and O'neil lowed his gun "So what's this festival?" O'neil asked "The new Ra is being chosen" he said and walked out of the pyramid, suddenly they heard a shout from behind and turned a figure was running towards them an inch away it pulled out a gun and shot Jackson in the head, O'neil ran to the shot Jackson and felt for a pulse, when he touched it, it turned in to a Goauld.
O'neil jumped back in surprise, the Daniel who had shot it ran up to them, O'neil quickly pulled his gun out and put it to Daniel's head, Daniel looked at him fear flashing through his eyes "Jack, please" he pleaded and O'neil knead him in the stomach and he doubled over, O'neil kicked him and sent him on his back on the sand "Please, Sam help me" he begged and Sam ran over, she grabbed O'neil's gun and threw it, she crouched beside "You okay?" she asked and Daniel slowly sat up, he put his hand to his stomach and pulled back when he saw it was blood covered "Who is that?" she asked pointing to the Gould "I returned last night to here and Troth sent the Gould through so I could never return, but the Gould freaked and came back here" he said in between gasps for breath "They want to crown me the next Ra" he added and Teal'c instantly came over, they help Jackson up and Teal'c checked his wound from O'neil's boot "What are you going to do?" O'neil asked and Daniel looked at him "Don't now, I don't want to be Ra, that's for sure" he said and they all started to make their way to the gate, once they were in front of it Daniel broke the silence "I can't go" he stated and they all turned to him "Why not?" asked O'neil "They said they would start war with Earth if I escaped" Daniel said keying in the six code "You guys go!" he screamed over the sound of the gate "We're not going with out you!" Sam stated and he glared at her with his blue eyes "Yes you are!" he shouted and keyed in the seventh "I hope I see you guys soon" he said, O'neil walked up to him and shook his hand "Your a good friend" he said and quickly hugged Daniel, O'neil stood in front of the gate waiting for the others, Teal'c bowed to Daniel and recited some ancient words that only Daniel understood, the joined O'neil at the gate.
Daniel looked at Sam "What can I say?" he asked and she threw herself in his arms, their lips brushed and Daniel's opened slightly and that was enough for Sam to repeat the gesture, the kiss became deep and their lips worked as one, Daniel's arms went around her waist and her arms went around his neck to pull him deeper in to the kiss, O'neil turned around and stared at the scene, he smiled and made Teal'c turn away, Daniel broke away and put his forehead to Sam's "Take care" he whispered and she smiled trying to hold back tears "You to" she said and started to walk to the stargate, she turned back and kissed him one last time and jumped through.
Daniel stood and watched the iris close, he slumped to the floor as he felt something hit him over the head.
Sam, O'neil and Teal'c fell out of the gate and right in front of General Hammond, who was tapping his toe "So, we have you been and were is Dr. Jackson?" he asked in a aggravated voice, O'neil cleared his throat and stood, he helped the others up and started to explain.
"So let me get this straight" General Hammond said he stared at the his three best officers in front of him "In order to save you three Dr. Jackson gave his life to the Goauld's and you let him do this?" he asked, O'neil stepped forward "Sir, we didn't have a choice and you now how Jackson is when he gets his mind on something" O'neil said trying not to look upset "He was a good man" Teal'c said braking the silence, Hammond looked up "We see what happens and then if in two weeks no war starts we go in there and make war, and lets just hope Dr. Jackson is still alive" General Hammond said and then turned and walked off.
Sam lay staring at the roof of her bedroom, her cat lay on her lap, she continued to stare at the roof, it had been a week and a half since Daniel had given his life for them and she just hoped he was still alive.
Daniel walked through the caves in the hill over looking the pyramid, a few Goauld's were walking around patrolling the area to make sure he didn't try to escape, he had gotten away after they had taken him back to his cell, he still had his fire arm but was saving the bullets till he really needed them, he hadn't eaten in four days and had bristles just starting to grow, he looked down and noticed that they had added more guards there were 11 now all had there shafts at the ready, he suddenly spotted a figure creeping out the side of the pyramid and saw two others following it, he watched as the Goauld's followed them, realising the people were in trouble he walked out of the cave and out in to the sandy desert.
Daniel pulled out his gun from his uniform pants and fired once, he gotten attention of the Goauld's who raced for him, half stuck with the three people and half down the bottom of the hill of sand from Daniel, the people easily removed the five Goauld's and started running towards the others, the Goauld's fired at Daniel and he fell to the ground, he rolled down the hill and landed at the feet of three Goauld's, their curiosity took hold and they slightly kicked him, he opened his eyes and kicked it in the head, keeping his jacket hood on he easily took out the other two and stood, he pulled his jacket tightly around him to stop the bleeding in his side, and slowly stumbled towards the fighting Goauld's and the three people, one Goauld had a gun to O'neil's head, Jackson walked about three feet away from them and pulled out his gun "Excuse me" he said and the Goauld turned to him it's bird head staring hard, Daniel quickly shot it in the heart and watched it fall to the ground.
O'neil slowly stood up and looked at the figure with a large black robe pulled around it, it turned and headed towards a Goauld that was running towards Sam, Daniel picked up one of the Gould shafts and fired it at the Goauld and the it fell to the ground.
Sam looked up at Daniel but didn't recognise him, she turned and fired at another Goauld, after they were all dead Daniel looked down at his stomach which was covered with blood, he collapsed to the ground with a groan.
Sam, O'neil and Teal'c sprinted over to the figure that had just saved their lives, they knelt beside it and Teal'c looked at the wound.
Daniel groaned and rolled over, he was cold, he opened his eyes and looked down at him self, he was wearing the army coloured pants they always had to wear and his dark green top, he rubbed his eyes with his palms and looked up at the white ceiling "White ceiling…" he muttered "That's weird", the door outside opened and Dr. Frasier entered "How are you feeling?" she asked and helped him sit up "Been better, why do i always end up in a hospital?" he mumbled as she redressed the wound on his side "You were very lucky you now" she said and he ignored her "Dr. Jackson, are you okay?" she asked putting a hand on his forehead, she looked back at him, he had dirt on his face and his blue eyes were reflecting the pain he was feeling and his hair was un-brushed and dirty but he still managed to be as cute as always.
Sam pulled out a clean uniform and stepped in to the change rooms, she liked to listen to the other women (There were only two and they both only worked in the café, Sam was the only women to be in a Sg team and all of the other women always excluded her) she knew eavesdropping was wrong but she needed to here *some* gossip "…well I heard he gave his life for his Sg team but escaped" one of the women said pulling on her jacket "Yeah, I wish he could save me" the other women said "He has to be *the* sexiest thing alive!" the 1st one said and the other sighed "He's soooooo cute!" she said and they both laughed, Sam pulled her jacket on a fast as possible and made her way to the hospital base.
Daniel stared at the roof but turned to the door when he heard foot steps, his face lit up at the sight of company "Oh Sam thank god your here I've been bored stupid and the Doc won't release me" he groaned and she smiled and sat beside *He must be okay cause he can't sit still for a minute, as always* she thought, she took his hand and stroked it like a child "You'll get out soon" she told him and his grin widened further "How's O'neil and Teal'c?" he asked "They're fine, thanks to you" she said and noticed him squirm a bit "How are you?" he asked "Fine, thanks to you also" she said and he squirmed more "I wanna get outta here" he muttered and sat up, he pulled his feet over the bed "I really need a shower" he said and she laughed "How long have you been in those clothes?" Sam asked amused "Too long" he told her and walked over to the cupboard and pulled out his boots "No come on how long?" she pushed "Since you last saw me" he muttered "That's nearly two weeks!" she shouted getting even more amused "Yeah well I'm sorry that there aren't any showers at Abydos" Daniel replied sarcastically, Sam turned to him "Oh, I'm sorry, I must have sounded awful" she apologised he turned to her "No, it's okay, I just over reacted I need some sleep and something to eat, last time I ate was four days ago" he told her "Well you go home and get some sleep, I'll drop in, in a couple of hours and see how your going" she said and left, O'neil came in and Jackson continued to pull on his shoes "How are you feeling?" he asked shoving his hands in his pockets "Okay, a bit stiff" Daniel admitted "Your getting good with those guns, very good" O'neil said looking him in the eye "Had nothing else to do" Daniel said getting uncomfortable, Teal'c saw this from where he was standing at the door and came to Daniel's rescue "Well we're happy your okay" Teal'c said and pulled O'neil out the door.
Daniel threw his jacket on his table and pulled off his boots and threw them in a corner, he went in to his bedroom and had a hot shower after he pulled on a singlet and an old pair of sweat pants, he turned on the tv and lay down on his couch after grabbing a beer, he finally fell to sleep.
Sam knocked on the door but heard no answer, she could hear the tv inside, she pulled out the key that the apartment owner had given her, she opened the door and looked in, Daniel was asleep with the tv reflecting on his glasses, she crouched in front of him and pulled his hair off of his glasses and removed the glasses and put them on the table, she stood and walked to the fridge and pulled out the milk, she looked at the expire date "This went out of date a month ago!" she exclaimed and sniffed it she pulled her head back and dumped it in the sink "Men" she muttered and smiled, she put the coffee in a mug and added the hot water, the smell spread through the apartment.
Daniel stirred and slowly sat up he rubbed his eyes and followed the smell.
Sam turned when she heard movement behind her, she turned and spotted Daniel standing in the door way "If that's coffee then it's love" he teased and she smiled "How strong?" she asked "Strong" he said and pulled him self up on to the bench "Here you are" she said handing him a mug, he sipped and spat it out in the sink "Strong aren't it?" Sam said smiling "Strong!" he said waving a hand in front of his mouth she laughed "Drink up, you probably need it!" she said and he sipped it again.
Sam and Daniel sat eating pizza in front of the tv "He looks like my mum!" Sam commented and chuckled, she looked over at Daniel "What's wrong?" she asked "I wish I had parents to tease" he commented and then smiled, he stood "What do we have to eat?" she asked him and he walked over to the kitchen, he opened the fridge and wrinkled his nose, he then went to cupboards and found nothing, he stood in front of Sam with his hands on his hips "Sorry, all out of every thing" he said and helped he stand "Don't worry" she said taking his hand and letting him pull her up, she stood up and looked in to his bright blue eyes "I better go…" she spluttered "Yeah I guess so…" he said caught in her eyes, she edged upward and he met he half way there, their lips brushed and they both pulled back, Daniel stared at her "Um…" he mumbled and pulled her back to him, she wrapped her arms around his neck, she pulled her self up in to the kiss, Daniel's hands went around her waist and lifted her, she wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed him deeper, he slowly edged backward and hit the wall they continued the kiss and Sam unhooked her legs from his waist and slid down his body, his hands went to her waist and his mouth continued to lunge into hers, they started to remove cloths as Daniel walked towards the bedroom, Sam collapsed on the bed and Daniel lay down on top of her, they removed the rest of the cloths which were tossed to the other side of the double bed, Sam rolled on top of him and kissed him deeply, they continued to kiss, Sam collapsed on the heaving chest of Daniel Jackson, she looked up at him "I love you so much" she whispered and he smiled down at her "I love you too" he told her and she kissed him and put her head under his chin and closed her eyes.
Daniel opened his eyes and looked down at the lady half laying on his chest, he smiled and looked at the clock, it was only 3am and Sam and him had to be at the base by seven so he pulled the quilt up more around them and drifted of to sleep.
Sam stirred and opened her eyes, she pulled her self up from Daniel's chest and pulled on her clothes, she walked bare footed in to the kitchen and put on the kettle she sighed and looked back at the bedroom *He's an angel* she thought and she smiled. Jackson pulled on his clothes and stepped out of the bedroom, Sam was in the kitchen with her back to him "Good morning" she called out and he walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, she looked up and kissed him on the lips "Good morning to you too" he replied with a grin "What are we going to do?" he asked and snuggled in to her neck, she leant back in to his embrace "I don't think we should tell O'neil" she said and turned around to face him, she put her arms loosely around his neck "And Teal'c either" Daniel added and she nodded "Tell no one?" she said and he nodded "Might be best…for now" he added and kissed her, she tightened the grip around his neck and he wrapped his arms around her waist, he hugged her and she placed her head on his chest "I love you" Daniel whispered and Sam looked up at him in surprise "You do?" she asked and he nodded "How about Shr'uri?" Sam asked and Daniel got a far away look "I cared for her, but I never knew love, and she's dead I'll always remember her, but I never loved her" he said and Sam hugged him tight "Well in that case…I love you too" she said and they both kissed each other.
