"Dr. Jackson" a voice said and Daniel looked up breaking the concentration and the pencil fell to the floor "Yes sir?" Daniel asked "Well, how about your report?" Hammond asked, Daniel jumped up "Oh, yeah, sorry sir" he said and started on his findings.
Sam looked at the pencil, she saw what she thought she saw.
Daniel slumped back in to the chair once General Hammond had exited the room, he picked up the pencil and concentrated on it, Sam came over and sat next to him "You okay?" she asked and he nodded "Yeah I guess" he replied "What's wrong?" she asked, he turned to her "I've just got this feeling" he said and Sam raised her eye brows "A hunch?' she asked "No, just a faint nagging to go to Chulack" he said and she looked at him in astonishment "What do you mean?" "Don't worry" Daniel said and got up and headed to the control room.
The next few days were the same, but Sam was getting worried about Daniel, he seemed more distant and still had a nagging feeling about Chulack.
"Colonel O'neil" Hammond said when O'neil entered the room, O'neil saluted and stood in front of the General "Sir, what is this about?" O'neil asked "Captain Carter is worried about Dr. Jackson, he seems a bit…distant to me" Hammond said and O'neil nodded "I had a talk to Daniel… I mean Dr. Jackson and he said he has a 'nagging' feeling to go back to Chulack" he said and Hammond looked surprised "Chulack?" the General asked "Sir, I need Dr. Jackson to be okay, I request permission to go to Chulack and find out what's wrong" O'neil asked and Hammond shook his head "Sir, with all due respect, I need Jackson to be okay, the groups depends on him" O'neil added "Well maybe we should get you a new team mate and let doctor Jackson stay and work at the base" General Hammond said and O'neil's face showed the horror "Sir, you can't do that, it's a simple problem with a simple answer!" O'neil spat out "How long will this Chulack mission take?" Hammond asked "As long as you give us" he answered and Hammond nodded "Be ready by midday tomorrow" Hammond said and O'neil saluted and left.
"Daniel! We're going to Chulack!" O'neil shouted as he entered Daniel's base living quarters, O'neil froze and stared, Daniel was asleep on top of the bed and a small pyramid paper weight that he had was floating in the air next to him.
O'neil slowly backed out of the room and grabbed Sam who had been walking by "What's happening?" Sam asked and O'neil pulled Sam in to Daniel's room, Daniel looked up from were he sat with his legs over the side of the bed and he had his head in his hands "What's up?" he asked and O'neil blinked at the pyramid that was lying on floor.
Daniel stood and walked up to the other two "Is someone going to tell me why you all are watching me sleep?" Daniel asked getting annoyed "Nothing, I think I'm loosing it" O'neil muttered then he looked up from the pyramid "We're going to Chulack" O'neil said "Who is?" Sam asked and O'neil looked at her "Us, sg-1" he said and Sam smiled "That's great, isn't it Daniel?" she asked and looked over at Daniel "Yeah, I guess" he said and went back in to his room and closed the door, O'neil turned to Sam and shrugged.
Daniel met Sam at the ramp, she smiled when she saw him "Hi, how ya feeling?" she asked "Okay I guess" he said and watched the fifth symbol lock in "What's up?' she asked and he sighed "I've just got a bad feeling that's all" Daniel said before grabbing his pack and walking over to O'neil who signalled to enter the liquid.
Sg-1 fell out of the liquid and looked up from were they lay, they stared at a group of Gou'alds, O'neil sat up and the others followed, the Gou'alds stepped aside as to show Apophis.
Apophis walked up to them "Why hello so nice to see you again" he said and O'neil smiled "I was hoping to see you soon but this is just unexpected" O'Neil said sarcastically and Apophis sneered and turned to the guards "Take them to the temple" the guards grabbed each sg-1 member and pulled them to their feet, their hands were bound behind their back and they started the long walk.
They entered the temple after an hour long walk, they were all taken to a cell in which they were thrown in and locked.
Apophis stood and walked up to Daniel who was kneeling in front of his thrown, O'neil, Sam and Teal'c were sitting a metre behind him.
"What do you want with us?" Daniel asked and Apophis laughed "No, I want you not the others" he said and Daniel looked confused "Why do you want me?" Daniel asked "You don't now?" Apophis asked and Daniel shook his head "I don't understand" Daniel said and Apophis walked up to him, he leant down and pulled Daniel's chin so that he glared in to his eyes "Your my son" he said and Daniel chuckled "Good one" Daniel tease and Apophis pulled Daniel's glasses off and threw them across the room, he then returned back to his thrown "I do not kid you" Apophis stated and Daniel's smile dropped "Your full of shit!" Daniel spat out "I can prove it" Apophis said "You have the powers don't you?" Apophis asked and O'neil glared at him "Don't talk to him Daniel, he tells lies" O'neil said and Daniel turned to him and then back to Apophis "How did you now about that?" he asked "The son of every pharaoh Gou'alds has powers and at the age of 25 which was a day ago for you, they start to get their powers" Apophis said and Daniel stared at Apophis "Your his son?" O'neil asked in disbelief and Apophis raised his hand and an energy bolt knocked O'neil, Sam and Teal'c unconscious.
"Please don't hurt them!" Daniel shouted running over to his unconscious team mates "Why do you protect them?" Apophis asked Daniel "Because they're my friends" he answered and Apophis snorted "I'll spare the women's life because she seems to like you but the rest are mine" Apophis said and Daniel nodded, a guard walked up and hit Daniel over the head, he also feel unconscious next to his friends.
Sam opened her eyes and rubbed her forehead, she turned slightly to see who was beside her, she looked at Daniel and noticed a large gash on his forehead, she rolled over so she was on his chest and looked closer at the cut "Daniel? Daniel wake up" she whispered and he groaned and slowly opened his eyes "Sam?" he whispered and she smiled "How you feeling?" she asked and he gently pushed a blond piece of hair away from her eyes "Where are we?" he asked looking around "Some kind of chamber I guess, but it is nicely furnished" she added and smiled at him, he looked down at her "Where are your cloths?" he asked and she looked astonished "And where are my clothes for that matter?" he added looking at her for answers "Hey don't look at me!" she said and Daniel sighed "So what should we do… we've been kidnapped by Apophis who is claiming to be my father plus your lying on top of me naked" Daniel concluded, Sam smiled "Why do you always find the funny side of bad situations?" she asked "Bad situation?" he quietened and she looked astonished "Your lying on top of me naked in a chamber all to our self, what's so bad about that?" Daniel asked and Sam smiled and pulled herself higher onto his chest, she slowly lowered her lips to his and he met her there halfway she pulled back and stared in to his eyes "It was your birthday and you didn't tell us, why?" she asked "I never celebrated my birthday so why would I now" he told her and a look of disbelief came across her face "Never had a party or got presents?" she asked and he shook his head "Well that's all about to change" she said and kissed him again.
Daniel stood up and walked over to a chair were his clothes were hanging, he dressed and went back to the bed and kissed Sam on the cheek "Your an angel" he muttered in her ear and a slow smiled crept over her face "I know" she whispered back and she kissed her on the lips and started to pull off his shirt off.
Half an hour later Daniel got up again and pulled his clothes on again and left the chamber.
Apophis looked up as Daniel entered and smiled to the best of his ability "Son, nice to see you, did you get enough sleep?" he asked and Daniel nodded "Have you seen my glasses?" Daniel asked and Apophis's smile faded "Why do you need them?" he asked and Daniel picked up the smashed pair "I need them to see" Daniel told him throwing the broken pair aside "Don't worry about seeing boy, it is time to learn how to control your powers" Apophis said and walked down to Daniel.
Daniel put his chin in his hand and continued to stare at the little crystal he was making float, he looked up at Apophis and the crystal dropped "This is boring" Daniel said like a child and Apophis smiled "You are strong in the mind, you do not need my training's any longer but you have to teach your self" Apophis said and Daniel stood "Bring the crystal over to me" he added and Daniel made it float over to him after closing his eyes "What is it?" Daniel asked walking over to Apophis's thrown, who threw the crystal on the floor, it smashed to show a smaller crystal which he motioned for Daniel to pick up, Daniel handed it to him but was refused "Place it in the middle of your hand and push it in" Apophis instructed and Daniel did so, the crystal easily went under his skin which quickly healed over the top of it, all that was showing was one quarter of an inch wide crystal.
"What is it?" Daniel asked gazing at the crystal which was hard to see "Hold your hand up to any door and it will now open" Apophis explained and Daniel nodded and left the main room.
He entered the room to see Sam pulling on her uniform, she turned to him "Where were you?" she asked pulling on her camouflage jacket "Getting an escape plan ready" he told her and she gave him a look to continue "Apophis gave me the key to all the doors plus a hand held weapon, you know the energy throwing one?" Daniel told her and her eyes lit with excitement "So were going to bust out O'neil and Teal'c?" she asked and Daniel nodded "Well lets go" she added giving him a small push towards the door "Look Sam about before…" he started but she cut in "No, I'm sorry, I took advantage of you while you were vulnerable and I'm sorry" she stated and Daniel smiled "Good, as long as we have that sorted out, friends?" he added before shaking her hand, he then turned and walked out of the room, Sam watched him go and sighed she hit her head softly on the wall "Oh, I am a stupid women" she muttered before following Daniel.
Daniel placed his hand on the door panel which lit up and the door slid aside, he turned back to Sam and shrugged "Ladies first" he said and she stepped past "Why do men always say that?" she asked Daniel who shrugged again and turned to look at her "I don't know but if you see one you might wanna ask" Sam chuckled and jabbed him in the shoulder "Come on, lets kill some Gou'ald butt".
O'neil looked up as the cellar door slide open, he jumped up followed by Teal'c "Hey, where have you guys been?" he mocked and then followed them out of the cell "Sorry Colonel, we were kinda busy" Sam said giving a quick salute.
The jaffa guards came around the corner and spotted the group of for escapee's "There they are!" shouted Apophis and they ran after the running group, Daniel shoved his hand in his pocket and pulled on the hand weapon, he turned and fired, the guards slowed but Apophis didn't "Where'd ya get that from?" O'neil asked between breaths "Family heirloom" Daniel said before jumping on top of a large boulder, he aimed the staff which he had collected and fired at the jaffa.
Daniel turned and looked in the direction of the gate "I can see the gate, about half a kilometre till we're there" Daniel said as he caught up to the group "Daniel, your the high school sprinter, go ahead" O'neil said between gasps for air, Daniel nodded and handed Teal'c the staff and took off towards the gate.
Apophis ran as fast as he could towards the group of escapees, the guards took of when they saw one of the group go ahead, Apophis stopped for a second and caught his breath then he continued.
Daniel put in the fifth co-ordinate and the sixth, Sam, O'neil and Teal'c ran up behind him avoiding a few blasts from the guards staffs, Daniel watched the seventh chevron lock in place and the liquid appeared "Go!" he shouted to Sam who jumped in, O'neil was next, Daniel and Teal'c held the guards of for a second with the hand held weapon and the staff "Go Teal'c!" Daniel shouted and Teal'c turned to go through the liquid, Daniel shouted when the staff blast from one of the guards hit him in the leg, he fell to the ground, Teal'c picked him up and flung him over his shoulder and stepped in to the liquid.
Teal'c stepped out of the liquid and on to the ramp, Dr. Frasier who was watching from the control room ran down when she saw the unconscious Daniel "What happened?" she asked as Teal'c placed Daniel on a stretcher "Gou'ald shot him" he answered and Daniel was taken to the infirmary, Sam and O'neil rushed up to Teal'c "Where's Daniel?" they asked at the same time "He was shot" Teal'c told them and they stared at him in disbelief "Will he be okay?" O'neil asked and Teal'c shrugged "I'm not a doctor".
O'neil, Sam and Teal'c say in the conference room waiting for General Hammond, when he entered they saluted and sat again "So sg-1, what happened?" Hammond asked "Sir, on Chulack when we stepped out of the gate we were ambushed by Gou'alds, we were taken to their hideout and met Apophis" O'neil said and Hammond looked astonished "How would he know that we were coming?" he asked and O'neil shrugged "Sir, he is a Gou'ald" Sam said and Hammond smiled, he went over to the intercom and beeped the infirmary "Dr. Frasier how is Dr. Jackson?" he asked "Sir, he's in surgery now" Frasier answered "Please contact me when he's out and how he's doing" Hammond said and took his finger off the intercom button, he turned back to the three in front of him "So did you find out what was wrong with Jackson?" he asked and Sam and O'neil both drew in a breath, O'neil realising Sam wasn't going to say anything stood to speak "Yes sir we did find out" O'neil said and Hammond sat down "And…" he prompted and O'neil cleared his throat "Sir, we found Dr. Jackson's farther" O'neil said and Hammond leant forward interest, O'neil continued "It was Apophis" he finished and Hammond looked astonished "How?" he asked and O'neil sat down "Daniel just told me what Apophis said but Apophis's wife Iris had Daniel and they sent him to earth to see the effects of living on earth" O'neil said and Hammond stood "So Dr. Jackson didn't know he was part Gou'ald?" he asked "He's only got some of the powers that Gou'alds have but if you think about it he has human parents but they are hosts" O'neil said and then continued "So in conclusion he is just as human as us but a little bit more maybe" "So he was drawn to Chulack by Apophis" Hammond questioned "No, when he was a child on his 25th birthday he would gain some of the family heirlooms, it was his birthday two days ago sir, and the nagging feeling started two days ago so it was more a home sickness" O'neil said and Hammond stood "We'll discuss this later, in the meantime lets see how they are going on his wound".
Sam, O'neil and Hammond entered the infirmary surgery room that looked down on the operating theatre were Daniel was lying unconscious with his uniform still on but his wounded leg had a big rip up the material, doctors were running around getting things, Hammond flicked a switch and the audio from bellow came on "Pulse still normal" a voice came through, Sam watched from above when a doctor had a close look at his hand "Hey guys what's this?" it shouted, a nurse came and looked at it "Lets remove it" she said and the doctor nodded he took a scalpel and slowly tried to get the crystal out, Daniel opened his eyes and the doctors jumped back in surprised, Dr. Frasier put a hand on his forehead "Daniel are you okay?" she asked and he shook his head, Hammond edged closer and hit the intercom "How come he's awake doctor?" he asked and Frasier looked up "I don't know sir, we had him under" she said and turned back to the wide eyed man, suddenly a long beep filled the intercom and Sam looked up and saw all the doctors running around "What's wrong now doctor?" Hammond asked getting inpatient, Frasier looked up from were she was trying to get a machine ready "We're loosing him sir!" she shouted and pulled off her surgical mask to talk to the doctors "He's slipping in to Cardiac Arrest!" she shouted and the doctors jumped to the task at hand, Sam jumped up but O'neil held her back "Don't worry" he said but Sam stared below with wide eyes, the doctors gave Daniel one shock and his pulse slowly came back on "Okay people, we finish up on his leg quickly and get him out of here, he's unstable!" Frasier shouted and the doctors finished Daniel's leg, Sam sat down again and took a few deep breaths.
Sam and O'neil walked in to Daniel's room and sat next to him "Hi" Daniel said weakly not opening his eyes, Sam stroked his forehead "How are you feeling?" she asked and he opened his eyes "Do I have to answer that?" he asked and she smiled "Hi Danny-boy, you scared us before" O'neil said and Daniel turned to him "Sorry" he whispered and O'neil grinned "Never seen Hammond greener" O'neil teased and Daniel grinned "What happened?" O'neil asked and Daniel closed his eyes and looked away "I don't know" he admitted and O'neil sighed "Okay, first things first, how did you get hit?" "I put in the seventh symbol and told you two to jump through, I told Teal'c to jump through and he turned to go in when I was hit, I fell and he picked me up and took me through" Daniel said and Teal'c appeared at the door "Talk about the devil himself!" O'neil said and Teal'c entered "Where is the devil?" he asked and Daniel chuckled "Thanks Teal'c" he whispered and Teal'c smiled to the best of his ability "That is okay Dr. Jackson" Teal'c answered, Daniel took Sam's hand "Don't tell Hammond about the magic, okay?" he said and they all nodded.
After four days in the hospital Daniel was allowed out of the infirmary but had to stay at his base quarters.
Daniel walked in to the conference room and sat next to Sam, General Hammond entered and Sam and O'neil saluted, Hammond sat at the end of the table and cleared his throat "Good to see you Dr. Jackson" he said and Daniel nodded "Same to you sir" Daniel said and Hammond smiled "I have been told all about Chulack and your little meeting with the… lets call it the dark side" Hammond said and Sam and O'neil knew he was trying to get Daniel fired up, O'neil looked at Daniel who was keeping his cool and was slightly proud.
"Dr. Jackson, the authorities want you to join the military" the general said and Daniel looked at him in disbelief "Why is that?" Daniel asked keeping his cool "Just like Teal'c Dr. When a non-military personnel gets involved personally with a case or mission we have to stop and think" Hammond continued "So, you don't trust me to kill Apophis?" Daniel asked and Hammond nodded "So we would like you to join the military, it would give you training and new skills" he added and Daniel stood "I am *not* joining the military, sir" Daniel stated and Hammond stared at him, Daniel stared right back "Then you are out of sg-1" Hammond stated and Daniel didn't batter an eye lid "You'll have my resema by the morning" Daniel said and left the room, O'neil stood up "Sir! That was stupid, if I may say so sir" he exclaimed and Sam cut in "Daniel is in our team!" she said and Hammond stood "Not any more".
The next morning Daniel slipped the piece of paper under General Hammond's door and headed to the locked room, he got in to his camouflage uniform as always and went to pick up his stuff.
Sam picked up the glass and threw it, it smashed on the wall and the water that was in it left the wall damp "How can he do that?!?" she asked O'neil and Teal'c "And how come Daniel let him?!?" she added "Don't look at me but I bet Daniel has gone crawling back to him apologising for his temper but he is young very young" O'neil said as they stepped out of the elevator, Sam looked at the mess she had created 'cleaners can do it' she decided and caught up to O'neil and Teal'c.
They knocked on the Generals door but got no answer, O'neil opened the door and picked up the piece of paper that had been slid underneath the door, he read through it and handed it to Sam "Our Daniel's still as stubborn as ever" he stated as Sam read through it "I'm going to talk to him" she announced but O'neil grabbed her shoulder "No, he'll be fuming, just give him some time" he said and Sam nodded.
Daniel pushed the up button and the elevator doors closed, he reached the surface and picked up his bag which he flung over his shoulder and headed out of the building.
"Lets go see him!" Sam said suddenly and O'neil turned to her "His base room" she added and O'neil nodded and they headed off.
"Daniel?" Sam called out as she opened the room and looked in, the floor was bare and the shelves also were, there wasn't a thing in sight "I can't believe this!" Sam shouted kicking the wall "Does he still live in his old apartment?" O'neil asked and Sam shook her head "No, he moved out the other day" she said and entered the room, she bent down and picked up the little pyramid and slipped it in her pocket.
Daniel arrived at his apartment and entered he took his boots off and his glasses and rubbed his eyes, he threw his bag on the floor and got a cold drink.
"Don't worry we'll find him" O'neil said as they sat down in the cafeteria "How will we?" Sam asked and O'neil shrugged "We could ask the General" Teal'c said and they all stood and headed back to the General's apartment.
The general looked up when he heard the knock on the door "Enter" he shouted and O'neil, Carter and Teal'c entered "Sir, we would like to know where Dr. Jackson lives" Sam said and the general looked at the paper in front of him "You know I can't do that" he said and O'neil cleared his throat "We know that sir but we don't know how to contact him or talk to him" he said and the general looked up "I am not allowed to tell you that information, dismissed".
General Hammond watched the three members of sg-1 enter and directed them to the free seats "Sg-1, this is your new team member, Alex Farther, say hello" Hammond said and the team glanced at the nerves man their age at the other end of the table "Hello" they all grumbled at the same time.
"We shall be sending a group back to Chulack and I have chosen sg-1, you mission is to check on the natives and make sure you stay away from Apophis" he continued "In one month I will be sending you back to get rid of him but not this mission unless you have to, understood?" O'neil stood "Sir… we don't…" he said he was cut in "I will see you midday tomorrow with your gear fully prepared" Hammond said and left, sg-1 stared at Alex who seemed to shrink in to the seat "Hi" he said before following after General Hammond.
Sam pulled on her helmet and stepped on to the ramp, the liquid before them appeared and they stepped up to it, but before they could enter a energy bolt came out of it and knocked every one to the ground.
General Hammond watched the Gou'ald step out of the gate with Apophis after them "I want to see my son!" Apophis announced and Hammond went to the stairs and went down to meet Apophis, he stood about three metres away "Apophis, Daniel is no longer here" Hammond said and sg-1 slowly picked them self up.
The general went to the intercom "Get on the phone and tell Dr. Jackson that we need him right away" he said and the control room came alive.
Ten minutes later Daniel ran in to the gate room "Sir, what is this about? You told me never to come back to this base or I'd get shot!" Daniel said and Sam slowly turned to him from were she lay with a Gou'ald staff to her throat "Shit!" he said when he spotted Apophis.
"Please take them, kill them whatever, just don't hurt me!" Alex cried out and O'neil glared at him "Shut your mouth soldier!" he snapped and Alex walked up to Apophis "Them for me?" he asked and Apophis nodded, Alex ran past O'neil, Sam, Teal'c and Hammond and went next to Daniel "That'll teach them to be nasty to me!" Alex spat out and received a fist in the mouth, he fell to the floor unconscious.
Daniel walked up to Apophis "What do you want?" he asked and Apophis smiled "You" he answered and Daniel sneered "Let them go" Daniel said pointing to were the Gou'ald guards had Hammond, Teal'c, Sam, and O'Neil on their knees "No, that would spoil my fun" Apophis said with a chuckle "I talk to you and you let them free, fair trade" Daniel said and Apophis thought "Okay, two only" he said and Daniel turned and spoke in the Abydos language and the guards left the hostages, Hammond was pulled up and pushed towards the stairs which he climbed quickly to the control booth, O'neil was also grabbed and taken to the stairs but he stayed there, Sam watched them two leave and looked back at Daniel, Daniel turned to Apophis "What are you going to do with her?" he asked and Apophis smiled "Execution would be nice for a change" he said and Daniel glanced back at Sam worriedly, a Gou'ald guard raised it's staff and aimed, Daniel ran at it and pushed it off course once he had fired it, it missed Sam and hit the wall.
Daniel turned to Apophis "Let her go and I'll give my self up" Daniel said standing in front of Sam "NO! Daniel don't be stupid!" Sam shouted jumping up and stepping in front of Daniel "I'll go but you leave Daniel alone!" she told Apophis but Daniel pulled her to face him "Sam please don't, I don't want to loose another women" Daniel said staring into her eyes and she knew he was telling the truth "Okay" she said and he walked towards Apophis, Sam grabbed his sleeve and he turned back to her "Take care" she said and put her hand in her pocket and pulled out the small pyramid and putting it in his hand "Come back to me, I don't want to loose another guy" she said and Daniel smiled, he kissed her in the cheek and the guards grabbed him and forced him in to the liquid.
Sam ran towards the liquid but it closed before she could get to it "You bastard!" she screamed at the closed gate, O'neil came up and put a hand on her shoulder "Don't worry we're going after him" he said and she looked up at him and nodded, she looked back at the empty gate "Don't worry Daniel, we're coming".
Daniel was pushed in front of the thrown where Apophis sat "Ahh, my little child, I have picked out a Gou'ald for you" he said and a few guards grabbed Daniel's arms, he pushed them away but they held tight but dragged him to a cell were they tied each of his hands above his head, Apophis entered holding a container with a slug, Daniel pulled back but Apophis knelt down and put the slug on the ground, it twisted around and then started to slowly crawl towards him.
Colonel O'neil picked up his pack and automatic gun, he turned to Sam and Teal'c and nodded, Sam pulled her helmet on and picked her gear up and followed Teal'c and O'neil in to the liquid.
General Hammond walked up to the guards outside and motioned to go inside, they moved aside and Hammond moved inside, Alex sat on the bed with his head in his hands he looked up when Hammond entered "Sir. I'd just like to say…" Alex started but Hammond cut in "What you did was unacceptable!" the general started and Alex looked back to the floor "You endangered sg-1's life and mine, and you have been so stupid that you could have also have been responsible for the letting Apophis take over the base" he added and Alex gulped "What is going to happen to me" he asked and Hammond walked to the door he turned back to the pathetic man "I'm going to leave that up to Colonel O'neil" he said and closed the door.
Sam stepped through the liquid and out on to the other side, she found Teal'c and O'neil on the other side of the gate were they were looking for tracks "Found anything?" she asked and they looked up "Yeah they lead towards the temple hide out place" O'neil said and Sam nodded then lets go" she said and they headed off.
Sg-1 reached the temple gates by sundown, no one was guarding the gates so they went in, as they walked down a corridor they heard a terrible scream and headed towards it.
O'neil slowly opened the door and found Daniel curled up in the back right corner with his legs pulled up to his chest with his hands wrapped around them and his head lying down on it, O'neil quickly put his gun down and crouched down to have a good look at him.
"Daniel talk to me" Sam whispered but Daniel didn't hear her and continued to shake "He's cold" she told O'neil who nodded and pulled out a spare jacket and put it on Daniel's shoulders but he continued to shake "Poor kid, must have been through hell" O'neil said and pulled a blanket out of his pack and put it on the floor, he pulled Daniel to his feet and wrapped it around him after pulling the jacket on "Sam rub his arms to get some circulation back" O'neil said and Sam started running her hands up and down his arms, once he stopped shaking he slowly looked up at the group, he suddenly clutched his head and fell to the floor, O'neil and Sam grabbed his arms and slowly crouched down beside him "Danny what's wrong?" O'neil asked and Daniel looked up "The Gou'ald" he whispered "Where?" Sam asked and Daniel pointed to his head "It's in your head?" Teal'c asked and Daniel nodded weakly, and lay down on the hard grounds "It's dying" he said and Sam brushed the brown strands of hair away from his face "How come the Gou'ald isn't in control?" she asked and he groaned and clutched his forehead "Daniel you all right?" Sam asked stroking his hair soothingly "It's just struggling to gain control, it's old and dying, it will soon die and so will I" Daniel said and O'neil pulled him to his feet "Don't be silly, your going to be fine" he said and Daniel looked at him "No, the Gou'ald dies I die" he said and walked to the door now in control of the Gou'ald "He's right, the Gou'ald might die and that would mean that he will to" Teal'c said and they all turned to him "How do we cure him?" O'neil asked "We need one of the sarcophagus's" Teal'c said and Sam nodded "Then we'll find one" "No, I get you guys out of here" Daniel said "You can't do anything" he added and motioned for them to follow him, half way down the hall Daniel doubled over in pain "It's starting" Teal'c said as they helped Daniel off the floor.
Teal'c and O'neil got under one of Daniel's arms each and helped him down the corridor "Daniel, it's a door" Sam said coming back to them, Daniel reached out his hand and put it to the door, it slid open and Apophis glared at them "How dare you steal my son!" he shouted and guards surrounded them.
Sg-1 knelt down in front of Apophis with their hands bound behind their backs, Sam glanced at Daniel who was beside her "You all right?" she asked and he nodded, Apophis walked up to them "You shall all be executed" he announced and O'neil glared at him "You'd kill your own son?" he asked and Apophis glared at him "You've given me no choice" he stated and went back to his thrown, Daniel coughed and Sam looked at him worriedly he quickly went in to a coughing fit and after a few minutes a white slug slid out of his mouth, Apophis walked up to were it lay wriggling and stepped on it.
Daniel looked up and glared at Apophis "You son of a bitch!" Daniel shouted before jumping up and kicking him in the head, Apophis groaned and pulled on his hand weapon and hit Daniel in the face with his fist, blood started running from Daniel's nose as he stumbled back he concentrated on the binds and suddenly O'neil, Sam and Teal'c jumped up "Thanks Danny!" O'neil shouted and Apophis scowled "How did you do that?" he asked and Daniel grinned "Just like you taught me".
The guards ran at the escapees and circled them, Daniel picked up a crystal bowl and threw it at Apophis "Your just like you mother, stubborn and strong minded, but not for long" Apophis said as he hit the back of Daniel's knees with a staff, Daniel fell to the ground gasping for breath "Did you know that your a big piece of shit?" teased Daniel and Apophis swung again but Daniel blocked him and knocked him to the ground, Daniel crouched down and held the staff across Apophis's throat "You don't have the guts to kill me!" Apophis spat out and Daniel turned his head to the side "Do I?" he asked with a glimmer in his eye, Apophis struggled for a minute and then gave up and stared his son in the eye "You couldn't kill your own father" he said and Daniel grinned and reached out to the corner with one hand, Sam watched as a hand gun came out of know where and slid in to Daniel's hand "Don't have the guts do I?" Daniel said as he put the gun to Apophis's right temple, he took of the safety and smiled "Your choice do I or don't I?" he teased as another dribble ran out of his nose again "Let them go and I'll spare your life" Daniel said and Apophis laughed "I'm 'dead' serious" Daniel added and Apophis grew serious "Okay, Guards let them go" he said and the guards left the three, Daniel stood and pulled the staff from Apophis's throat, Daniel turned and started to walk to his friends "Your a fool just like your mother!" Apophis shouted and Daniel turned around and raised the gun, he pulled the trigger and the bullet hit Apophis in the middle of the forehead, he dropped to the floor and Daniel lowered the gun.
Daniel dropped the gun and slowly let him self slide down the wall to the ground, he sat staring at nothing, Sam, Teal'c and O'neil ran to him and they pulled him to his feet "Danny work with us" O'neil said and Daniel nodded weakly "We need to get him to the sarcophagus, the Gou'ald would have eaten some of his unneeded insides while it was in there but once it left his body he needs them" Teal'c said as they slowly helped Daniel up the stairs "Internal bleeding" Sam said and Teal'c nodded.
They slowly lowered Daniel in to the open sarcophagus and he opened his eyes as the lid closed, Sam looked up at the Colonel "What do we do now?" she asked and he shrugged "Wait" he answered and Sam stared back at the sarcophagus "How do we get out of here?' O'neil asked Teal'c "I know" he replied.
Slowly the sarcophagus opened to reveal a healthy Daniel, Teal'c picked him up and put him over his shoulder "This way" he said walking towards a door, they pressed Daniel's hand to it and it opened, after half an hour of walking around the temple and being attacked by four groups of Jaffa's they finally made it to the exit.
Daniel was still unconscious as they dialled in earth's co-ordinates, as the seventh symbol locked in the liquid appeared "Lets go sg-1" O'neil said before stepping in to the gate.
General Hammond looked up as sg-1 plus Daniel came through the gate, he rushed down the stairs and looked the group over, they all looked tired and dirty, Dr. Frasier ran over followed by some people and a stretcher they took Daniel away while sg-1 went to get some sleep.
The next morning O'neil met Sam and Teal'c in the cafeteria for breakfast "So how are you guys?" he asked and they all nodded "Fine, but no one is looking forward to the meeting with General Hammond" Sam said and O'neil smiled "What do we tell him?" he asked but was interrupted "Any one sitting here?" a voice asked and Jack looked up followed by Sam and Teal'c "Well, can I sit down?" Daniel asked and they all smiled "No" O'neil said and Daniel grinned "I'll take that as a yes" he said as he sat down.
A siren went off and they all ran in to the gate room, Apophis stepped through and laughed, he raised his hand that held the gun that Daniel had used to kill him, he aimed and pulled the trigger and Daniel fell to the ground.
"NO!!!" Sam screamed as she sat up straight and gasped for air, she quickly got up and pulled on a pair of pants and a top and headed to the infirmary.
Sam looked behind the glass and spotted Daniel lying in bed sleeping peacefully, she opened the door and entered the room and sat in the chair beside the bed, Daniel turned to her and grinned meanly "Have a bad dream?" he asked and she nodded and Daniel looked in to her eyes, they glowed silver and Sam jumped back.
This time Sam did wake up, she drew in a sharp breath and pinched her arm, she flinched and stood up, she pulled on her day clothes and headed down to the infirmary.
She quietly walked in to the room and sat on the edge of the bed beside Daniel and stroked his hair, when she was sure he was all right she planted a kiss on his forehead and slowly stood and sat in a chair beside the bed and fell asleep.
Daniel woke up and turned his head and noticed Sam asleep beside his bed, he got up and dressed, he took out a piece of paper out of the dresser and found a pen, he wrote on it and left.
Sam woke and rubbed her eyes, she looked over at the empty bed and groaned, she got up and picked up the piece of paper 'Sam. I still live in the same apartment come and see me some time, don't tell Hammond that I lied to him about moving. Love Dan.' She put the note in her pocket and walked out of the room.
O'neil caught up to Sam in the corridor "Where you going?" he asked and she continued walking "I thought I'd spare you some time and talk to General Hammond" she answered and he nodded "Thanks" he said "See you later" he added and continued to walk away.
After explaining to General Hammond, Sam went up to the surface and took one of the jeeps and headed out of the mountain.
Sam reached Daniel's apartment after dark and parked the jeep, she climbed out and walked inside, she stopped out side the door and straightened her clothes, as she went to knock she noticed another note stuck to the door, she pulled it down 'Sam. Sorry but I had to stay out late, if you want you can wait and I'll see you around 9. Love Dan' she smiled and found another note 'Sam. Forgot to give you a key, check under the door taped to the mat. Love Dan' she got down on her knees and pulled out the key, as she stood up she noticed one last note, she pulled it down also 'Sam. I can't believe your not in my apartment yet! Love Dan.' She chuckled and put the key in the door and opened it, she entered the room and stepped in to a war field, there was stuff every were, old shirts, pants, plates, mugs and boots.
She sighed and started to pick things up, she walked in to his bed room and over to the draws, she smiled when she saw another note 'Sam. I know you are carrying my clothes so put them down and stop being my mother. Love Dan' she read it and put the clothes neatly in the draw she exited the room and started to pick up all the plates and mugs, she noticed the mugs where were he would walk out in a rush to the base.
She finished cleaning the apartment and went in to the kitchen to see what she could cook.
Sam and Daniel sat eating pizza in front of the tv, Daniel turned to Sam and put down his food "Aphosis isn't my father" he said and she turned to face him "What?" "He must have known about my time with the Knox and decided it would have been an easy way for knowledge" he said and she nodded "Why didn't you tell me?" she asked putting her dinner down also "I played along to get rid of him but since I left Chulack I don't have any powers any more" he answered and she nodded, she kissed him gently on the lips and smiled "You're to smart for your own good" she added before snuggling in beside him, he wrapped his arms around her and took a deep breath 'At last every thing is back to normal' he thought as Sam fell to sleep, he looked at the tv and groaned it was 'ricki lake show' the remote control floated over to him and he changed channels and smiled 'Yes every thing back to normal'.
