Needing

If that bitch laid 'one', just one, finger on him, he'd kill her. Sure, Daniel would try to stop him, loving everyone and thing but she'd screwed with his head, and probably more. Why not me? Why hadn't he tried to save her? If he had of, maybe Daniel would be okay. Unfortunately, he owed her Daniel's life. She'd put him in that damned sarcophagus. Bringing him back to life. But, from what Carter had remembered from that slug that had been in her, it didn't look good for Danny this time. He knew they'd lost Daniel before and that didn't make this any more easy. He had to praise the sarcophagus, it kept bringing their friend back, time after time.

But it seemed this time it was going to let them down. Big time. That was, if the sarcophagus did what Sam said it did. And if so, he wanted to run, run like all buggery, towards the hills with one pesky but kind hearted anthropologist thrown over his shoulder. And their would be no doubt about it that Sam would be by his side and maybe even Teal'c, coming after then, followed by little junior. "Damnit!" Why did bad things always have to happen to them? Danger and bad things always seemed to run to them like damn mosquitoes. But it always seemed to get Daniel instead of us three. Maybe because he was more emotionally attached to everything or was just always at the wrong place at the wrong way place at the wrong time. Or maybe he was just more human, a little bit 'not' military.

Jack smiled a little, he knew the team would not have survived without the very human boy. His smile faded as he thought of Shyla and what she might do to that 'boy'. "Bitch" Jack swung the mining tool back into the rock, it bounced back, vibrating up his hands "Crap!". He felt Teal'c lie a hand on his sore shoulder "I am also worried for Daniel Jackson, but I don't see how causing yourself harm will help him, or us, out of this situation". Jack nodded, rubbing his hands through his dusty hair "You're right" Jack laughed, despite the situation, at what Teal'c said next "I normally am". Jack took hold of his Ax/hitting thingy again and hit it down more gently this time. "I just...I just hope he'll be okay..." Sam chose this point in time to cut in.

"Me too" they all paused for a minute, praying to whoever was listening that daniel would be all right. "Get back to work!" they all picked up their tools, making it look as if they were working. When, all they were really doing was praying like all bloody hell that they'd go home alive, with Daniel this time. And so, that was when Jack made the promise, one that would stand to the very end. 'I promise you Daniel, no matter what happens, that I’ll always be there, never leave you behind and never ever let one of those bloody females get there hands on you again. Ever'.
