VERSION INTEGRALE - SCRIPT

The next day back at their hotel room Leon prepares for another job.

LEON: I'm going to do this alone today.

MATHILDA: Did I do something wrong?

LEON: It's too heavy.

MATHILDA: And I only get the shitty leftovers, right?

LEON: No, Mathilda you just need time to grow up.

MATHILDA: I already have. All I do is get older.

LEON: And for me, its the opposite. I'm old enough, but I need to grow up. (Leon picks up his case and leaves.)

MATHILDA: Shit...

While Leon is away Mathilda takes the chance to have a cigarette on the window ledge, knowing that Leon doesn't like her smoking. She goes out shopping then returns to watch some television. Bored with programs on T.V. Mathilda goes outside onto the steps by the hotel. She lights up another cigarette, but tosses it away after only a drag or two. A gang of kids appear playing basketball and go up to her.

KID: Hey, you're new here, yeah? Fifth floor?

MATHILDA: That's right.

KID: Well if you want to hang out around here you gotta pay us. Like a parking toll.

MATHILDA: Only on TV...

KID: What?

MATHILDA: Nothing. So how much is your toll?

KID: Uh, ten dollars a month. (Mathilda gets out a 100 dollar bill.)

MATHILDA: Got change? (The kids look amazed at the money and shake their heads no.)

MATHILDA: Then we'll do ten for twelve, right now. The whole year. Does paying you mean I have to put up with you guys?

KID: No.

MATHILDA: Then play somewhere else. I need to think.
