My Precious Children

Come on my precious children
There is something I have to say
This might take a little time
So, I hope that you can stay
Rest your coats and have a seat
I made us all some tea
Just relax and take the time
Please listen carefully to me

We've been friends
We've been a team
And I feel it's safe to say
We've been reflections
Of each other's beauty
And still we are today

Many think a parents job is done
When the kids are fully grown
But you will always be my kids
I love you to the bone

We've been through so much together
I really just can't see
With all the stress I've dragged you through
How have you ever tolerated me?

You trusted me to care for you
To supply your every need
Your backs I have clothed
Your bellies I have fed

When I was falling short
Of your basic expectations
Your smiling faces gave me strength
To exceed my limitations

Raising all of you has always been
My greatest living pleasure
You are my reasons for living
You are my valuable treasure

You all have taught me very well
So much about responsibility
How to keep this happiness
Deep inside of me

You showed me that real love
Is giving and is sharing
Constant sacrificing some things
And always unselfish caring

Thank you all my children
For bringing love into my life
You loved my unconditionally
Through all the stress and strife

Thank you all my loved ones
For it is plain to see
While I was raising all of you
You were also raising me

Come closer to me children
Let me look into your eyes
You all are truly beautiful
Respectful and wise

I want to kiss your faces
I need to touch your hands
If you see me crying tears of joy
I hope you'll understand

The tradition we have started
In our small love filled family
Our trust, respect, unification
Will last eternally
