A Blossom Fell

A blossom fell from the lemon tree
And nestled in her hair
He could no longer conceal his love
For this beauty standing there

As he gently picked the blossom
Red lips softly touched his face
Her cheeks were flushed with happiness
In the warmth of his embrace

They lay on a blanket of petals
The long, tender afternoon
So very young and so in love
Parting came much too soon

Life may take them different paths
But they remember well
When two of them became as one
The day the blossom fell
