When I was just a little girl
My mind played tricks on me
I thought I had a special friend
But, He wasn't real you see
In my imagination
He was a kind and gentle man
A little man with graying hair
His face was dark and tan
Was it my imagination
When he held me close to say
I love you little darling
But I have to go away
I never saw my friend again
As many years passed by
And in my imagination
I always wondered why
When I grew up I realized
A fact that's really sad
He wasn't just my special friend
He was the memory of my grand dad
