Gloria
Tatlock a missionary determinated to find the opium to alleviate the awful
suffering of soldiers injured in the China-Japan War. Glendon Wasey, a
tie salesman and a soldier of fortune, equally determined to get the hell
out of Shanghai and back to the USA before all hell breaks loose.
To both, the opium provides an answer. The only trouble is, every sneakthief, jackal, and two bit hood in China wants a piece of the action, not to mention the sinister police chief and the mysterious empress China Doll who may hold the key to a fortune far greater even than the opium. |
