- Young Filmmaker's Organization- Once upon a time I posted a note on the Likeastory Special Effects Board suggesting that it'd be good for all us young amateur film types to hook up and form an organization. It recieved a number of replies, including one that informed me that such an organization was already in the works. Six months later, the YFA is up and running, and I haven't had to do a stitch of work. Instead, Andrew, Andy and Drew (Americans, but nobody's perfect ;) have done a killer job making it happen. Way to go guys!
The General Influences of Skipsterfilms
- The ViewAskewniverse- The home of Kevin Smith and his cohorts. This man is my personal hero, and, after about a year of cajoling Damon has also converted to Askewnism. Every installment in the New Jersey trilogy has that wonderful way of getting funnier and funnier every time you watch it.
Jodie's note- After counting down the days for a little over a year for the relase of Dogma, I was, wonder of wonder of wonders, in Edmonton on the day of its premiere.... and I MISSED IT!!! The cruel fates have to this day kept me from viewing its splendor. Yes, I'm bitter.
- The Daily Llama and Fawlty Towers- It is truly a sight to behold when Damon, the Vandermeulens (and occasionally I) get involved in a good Britcom quoting session ("Is this a piece of your brain?") Kudos to Monty Python and Fawlty Towers for shaping us all into the sick, twisted individuals that we are.
- The Indyfan Forum-Every morning Damon's online checking this site for juicy tidbits about a man and his whip (Indiana Jones). Ah well, each to his own.
- "Think You Can be Famous, AND a Canadian Child Actor?" by Stefan (Snake) Brogren- Okay, I'll admit it- my love of Degrassi occasionally borders on obsession. So, imagine my delight at stumbling upon this jem of an article by my favorite character in the series, the kind-hearted overacheiver Snake. His observations on Canadian celebrity culture had me busting a gut. Also, I got a big kick out of hearing him discuss things like "buggering a bikini-clad transvestite" (read the article- taken out of context that's a pretty disturbing image...wait, it is anyway). Trust me, it's a good read.
