Harris Jones in: The Scroll of the Ancients

Harris Jones in:

STATUS- pre-production, script completed

Skipsterfilms was in desperate need of a winter project, so Damon (never one to ignore a challenge) got right to it and created a new Harris Jones adventure, "The Scroll of the Ancients". It's been decided that, for the moment, Harris Jones movies are the way to go (mostly because a certain actor who will remain nameless freezes up whenever he's cast in a dramatic role). Plus, they're a ton of fun to make and film.

The Characters

Harris & Lucas Jones:

Harris is the typical protagonist. A good guy at heart, he is a mercenary to any non-tyrannical government. Business has been slow so far, so he has devoted his time to ridding the world of Belloq. The countries of the UN have agreed to pay him in full 20 million dollars for the demise of Belloq, and pay them 10 million for each well done job they do. He always carries a gun, and likes to tote a whip. Wearing the classic fedora most of the time, he could have been another Indy. He blames the CIA for most of the foul ups, and this is believed by every country, including the States. Pet peeves include inflight movies, foreign cars, and Belloq.

If Harris is Abbot, meet Costello. Lucas is the total opposite: a laid back funny man who knows alot, just never does anything. He couldn't speak 5 french words to save his life, but is somehow able to read many ancient scriptures. He hardly ever carries a gun, but never misses when he shoots. Go figure. Wearing a shirt sloppily untucked and a beret lopsided, he is quite a lazy guy, and hardly ever wants to fight. Obsessed with toothpicks, he can't go 15 minutes without one. Oh yeah: with him 1 glass of club soda= 2 glasses of a high spitited drink.

Jean-Luc Belloq & his henchman:

Harris' long time rival, here is your typical antagonist. Power-hungry, he is in fact quite a wimp, and hides begind his henchmen all the time. With even fewer redeeming features than his great uncle of the same name, this Belloq is a lot easier to despise. The henchman are both silently dangerous, one with guns, the other with, you heard me, duct tape.

Dr. Ingrid Herrmann:

A Sedish doctor of Archaeology, Anthropology and Sociology, this young wonder is the subject of many a National Geographic interview. The quiet type, she is never one to instigate a fight, and always tries to avoid conflict. Unfortunately for her, she has stumbled across ancient scrolls in her work, and Belloq, the SOB, has learned of their power. His plans to kidnap her are made possible by her unwillingness to trust Harris right off the bat. Not that we can blame her, but...At any rate, she is a good-spirited girl thrust into the middle of a "diabolical" scheme to rule the world.

Sandra Innes:

Really a very dangerous agent working with Belloq, she acts the part of a weak innocent victim in order to wile Harris and co. away from teh true trail and lure them to their deaths. This works out in a really strange way, because Lucas holds an attractionfor her, she holds an attraction for Harris, and thanks to past events, Harris is not willing to commit himself to a relationship. Ain't this just typical of how things work in this world? I mean, we should know that any plan made by Belloq is never REALLY going to work...Sandra is a real devious sort, and one is never sure which side she's REALLY on, despite knowledge that she is supposed to be working with Belloq.

Joe Brody:

Great nephew to Marcus Brody, this long-time friend of the duo is a paranoid recluse, who is always working underground, and is about as organized as a headless chicken. He tries to be subtle, but it never works.

The Kidnappers:

Two stunten who never carry guns, but know how to use anything. They are hired by you-know-who to do what they do best: kidnap people of high stature, and waste the Jones boys. The latter is, obviously, yet to occur.

The Chimp:

A cameo appearance by a stuffed monkey (of which we only ever see the back of it's head), this guy was the subject of a truth pill experiment, and it turned out that he became an incredible math whiz. How he gained a british accent is yet to be determined. Not really a big character, but definitely a gag with some potential. Kind of ironic, because when Lucas accidently ingests the same kind of pills, he gains the intellect of the average spider monkey with the habits of a chimp. It proves handy, yes, but doesn't make a good 1st impression.
