"The Faculty" Summaries

Director Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn) offers an ode to gore (scripted by Scream-meister Kevin Williamson) about a group of teens who must defend themselves against their pod-people teachers.  (Premiere - December 1998)

It's a tale of cute Texas high schoolers who discover that their teachers are actually (gasp!) aliens disguised as humans - and then must battle the teachers and their creepy ways to save mankind.  (And we thought midterms were hard!)  Sure, it sounds a bit cheesy on paper, but trust us, it's not.  It was written by Scream and Dawson's Creek scribe Kevin Williamson.  (Did we mention Josh Hartnett is in it?)  (Twist - January 1999)

The kids at Herrington High deal with all the usual worries, like zits and unbalanced teachers, but for extra credit, they have to save the world.  Sounds corny, but it works.  Director Robert Rodriguez (who's been stirring up buzz with the latest Tommy Hilfiger ads) and writer Kevin Williamson (Scream and Scream 2) team up for a film that singlehandedly creates a new teen genre:  Sci-Fi High.  The nail-biting quotient is up there - providing opportunities aplenty to cut off circulation in your date's bicep - but there are tons of groans and laughs thrown in.  Have I mentioned Usher's screen debut?  (Teen Celebrity - Winter 1998)
