Get It Made

Useful stuff for your production

http://www.sfx-gallery.co.uk/ - Great sound effects library with 170,000 effects you can browse with Shockwave. You have to pay if you want anything, but it's pretty cheap (like 50p per clip)

http://www.hyperfilm.com/ - a useful trade directory

Writers

Info sites for scriptwriters and those who want to find them

www.darkin.demon.co.uk -The UK scriptwriter's Network my own info site for UK writers - I don't get a chance to update it that often, but it's got some pretty comprehensive info there anyway.

http://www.script-o-rama.com/ - a comprehensive list of screenplays and writers you can download (Well, obviously you can't download the writers themselves!)

Other People's Work

Films, filmmakers and sites related to them

http://www.movieclicks.com/ - official sites for the latest films

http://www.tohu-bohu.com/leigh/index.html - Mike Leigh one of my favourite directors. Here's an interview with him http://indiewire.com/film/interviews/int_leigh_mike_1_970120.html

Got it made. So now what?

Festivals, and other outlets

http://www.dv.com/ - a digital film festival

www.filmfestivals.com - site dedicated to film festivals

http://dir.yahoo.com/Entertainment/Movies_and_Film/Film_Festivals/ - yahoo's links to film festivals - there were about 100 there when I last checked. It's well worth a look as most of the sites listed have info on submitting your own production to festivals.

www.uxoomi.com - These people sell videos. They're offering to digitise and put up your production on the web, and will split any profits from selling tapes with you. It's a slick site, and worth a look.

One to Watch

Live video on the Web

http://www.culturejam.com/ - weekly Realmedia clips

www.real.com - the makers of Realvideo. They feature live video sites constantly.
