WhoA!! This is dAnIeL's biggest concert so far and he's really nervous about it. He suffered from insomia for the few days prior to the concert. If you didn't know, dAnIeL had only 4 days to prepare for this upcoming show which was not the original plan. He in fact put aside a week, but due to last minute changes, dAnIeL had only so little time, adding to his anxiety. So dAnIeL practised from 10am everyday to about 3am! Since this is such a big thing for dAnIeL, me and ViVian flew specially over to support him! BoY! The concert was fabulous!! Although it wasn't spectacular in display and props, but it was fantastic to listen to dAnIeL sing LiVe with a band for almost 2 hours! His vocals totally wowed me speechless! LiTeralLY! I could sit there forever and just hear him sing...GosH! I have uploaded a few songs for those who didn't get to go. Some of these songs were covers and two of them are new songs from dAnIeL's upcoming new album. It's pretty frustrating that i dun understand cantonese. But that is a very tiny speck of disappointment compared to dAnIeL's singing!

The date is 23RD of MaY and it is a big day for dAnIeL! This "Music is Live Concert" has dAnIeL doing solo performances which is pretty special as the previous concerts held for other artistes have to share the stage with others. The concert began at about a little after 8pm and dAnIeL began with a slow ballad from his earlier album ¡m¤@¦¸¯u·R°l´M¤@¦Ê¦¸¡n. Then dAnIeL hit the fast pace with ¡m µ²¥L ¡n followed by¡m §ì¹Ú ¡n making great dance moves. It was after these 3 songs that dAnIeL talked. And so SooorrrY, i dun understand cantonese! Part of what was translated from it was that "In each corner of the world, everyone face unhappy situations. But just leave that, as i will too, and enjoy the concert." Cheerings from the fans were deafening. And there was this part where dAnIeL broke away from his speech and answered the fans' screamings and cheers, saying "Ay, Tang dou le, Tang dou le", and the fans screamed even louder.

After that, dAnIeL sang the cantonese version of ¡m ²q²q²q ¡n before he went offstage to change into another set of clothes. When he came on, dAnIeL brought us a Great Surprise! He sang his new song ¡m­n¬O§A¤@­Ó¤H¡n, a ballad from his upcoming album and it's fantastic! Initally i was stunned when i heard it. I was wondering if it was his new song, but on the other hand, i wasn't that exposed to cantonese numbers so i thought he might be doing a cover. And dAnIeL made the song sound sooooo wonderful. You must take a listen to that!

dAnIeL continued with ¡m ¤ß¦³¿WÁé ¡n and he said something. And you know that i cannot understand him. Following this, dAnIeL sang the song ¡m BeCoZ i LoVe U ¡n. This song was chosen from a poll done on the internet - but i haven't seen that before, and it's the most requested song by the fans, so dAnIeL decided to do that song. It was my personal favourtite too! And dAnIeL made it so soothing with his touch in it.

Then dAnIeL said his thanx and added that "don't tok that much" before introducing the next song ¡m ·R§A(¸ú§A) ¡n in cantonese. After that, he went off stage again.

dAnIeL did the cover for ¡m My Way ¡n which is a pretty slow song and he serenaded it in a very gentle manner. And dAnIeL spoke a little again. He spoke of being happy to be able to sing unplugged and that is his favourite section. dAnIeL then did the song ¡m¤ß¶Ë¤ßµh¤£µh ¡n which sounded soooo good UnpluGGeD. dAnIeL then did an introduction for his next song which is ¡m º§ º¬ ¡n- a Danny's Chan's cantonese number. And he revealed a BiG Secret! dAnIeL sang this song for his first love before. Though at that time he sang out of tune, 'she' loved it. Of coz..if it was me i would have luve it too. dAnIeL hushed the fans before singing the song. Hehehe. Then dAnIeL did another cover, ¡m¬ù©w¡nwhich is beautiful!

dAnIeL went backstage again. I'm sorry that i cannot remember the suits he wore. dAnIeL sang ¡m Hear Me Cry ¡n as soon as he appeared on stage again. It's a cover but i'm not sure about the original singer. dAnIeL then began to introduce the band which is playing on that night after that he did another cover - a mandarin one ¡m ·R«Ü²³æ ¡nand it's one of my fave songs of that nite. It's so lovely!

Then dAnIeL disappeared again..just to take off his jacket. And he bounced back with one hot song ¡m ·R±¡³´¨À ¡na cantonese number by Alan Tam. And as the crowd got into the beat with dAnIeL, Alan Tam appeared on stage and joined dAnIeL halfway thro' the song! Initially dAnIeL was not aware when Alan strided across the stage. It was just when dAnIeL turned that he bumped into Alan and dAnIeL was taken aback literally. So cute! The two of them finished the song as the audience rocked with them. After that, Alan spoke on stage. Alan praised that dAnIeL's singing has improved and that he has matured after the "limelight hogging" incident. Coz Alan saw in the newspapers that dAnIeL did not mind the stoopid name no more, which is a positive way of handling things in the entertainment biz and a good way too. dAnIeL then thanked Alan a number of times. He sounded pretty subdued and serious with gratitude.

After that, dAnIeL continued to rock the house with his fast numbers and great dance moves! First came ¡m «æ­á¤ßÆF ¡n , followed by ¡m¤ß²z¹CÀ¸¡n. Of coz, his much awaited new song, ¡m ·sÅw(¥[ºë¿ï) ¡n was not forgotten! This was the first time i heard the full song as well as his dancing! Reallee slick.. And just in case you didn't know, this was the song which dAnIeL danced with a scarf and later threw it to the audience. But i think the stage was too far away from the audience for them to attempt to get it...

After getting the crowd high, it was soon time for dAnIeL to slow things down. And as dAnIeL sang the song ¡m ¤@¸U¦~ ¡n, bubbles or rather foam, fell from above and made it seemed as if it was snowing. Fans screamed in delight and in excitement. Some tried to catch the foam while others dodged. And just to let you know, some of them even opened up thier umbrellas to shelter them from the foam. It was pretty an amusing sight but i'm not sure if dAnIeLspotted that. He asked the crowd: "Is it beautiful?" looking pretty emotional at that point.

After this song, it was close to the end of the concert. dAnIeL stood at the center of the stage and looked at the crowd motionlessly as the drum beats. Along with the beat, the fans cheered and screamed. But dAnIeL gripped his mic and kept quiet. The beat of the drum got faster and suddenly dAnIeL bowed low. The fans screamed louder and cheered wildly. dAnIeL bowed for a very long time before looking up with his teeth biting his lower lip. He looked really close to tears. Then he wiped his face, i wonder if it was his tears that he was wiping. It was later at a interview that dAnIeL revealed he was close to crying at that time. But he wanted to leave the stage with a smile so he just swallowed it down. He said that he actually felt reluctant to leave the stage coz it was his first big event with so many people coming forward to give him support. And he will always remember this nite.

dAnIeL asked what song would we want to hear next and the crowd cheered when he suggested ¡m ­nª¾¹D§Aªº·Pı ¡n. And with no doubt dAnIeL proceeded with the song. That was the last song to be sung anddAnIeL said "ByeBye" and went off.

AfterThoughts.. dAnIeL has certainly proved his vocals to us this nite. There was a variety of songs that he sang, R&B, ballads, rock, etc.. and he showed his capability of handling them. We fans have never been disppointed before but this time we were all impressed and throughly enjoyed the performance even though i dun understand cantonese. However music is universal rite? dAnIeL said that this was a nite which he was throughly into the performance and there were a lot of things that he wanted to say but overwhelmed by emotions, he forgot about it. dAnIeL has done a great job for this concert given only 4 days to prepare for it. It was not impressive in props, no fireworks or amazing lightings, but the simplicity of the concert allowed us to focus on his singing. And his vocals overshadowed the bare stage, though by the end of the concert, bouquets of sorts -chocs, flowers, candies flooded the sides of the stage. All the prezzies actually filled one full van. Back to the singing. If you have downloaded the songs i have uploaded on the internet, I guess you will know that i was not exaggerating when i said his singing wowed us totally. Of coz, to be able to be at the concert would be much better. This is a nite i will never forget. And a nite that dAnIeL will always remember. His first and commendable concert.
