Death (Pitt) wants to experience life as a human. He appears to William Parrish, a business man preparing to celbrate his 65th birthday. Joe is a true novice in the ways of the human, but is eventually accepted by William's family. However, Joe is not so welcome in William's business dealings, where his presence leads to serious complications for the business.
