Day two in Huerfano County

On the second day we hung around on our land. Well away from the road is this little valley with a dry creek bed.

I love the way the wind has been wearing away at this hillside. Harder rocks embedded in the sandstone each wear away at the rock, leaving them in their individual depressions.
The rock in the picture to the right was one that fascinated the kids when we brought them here in 1998. They called it "saddle rock". Take a look at their picture on this rock.

Michael went climbing around the hills.
While I set up camp in the little meadow in the sunshine and worked on a cross-stitch project.
The following are some of the views he could see from the second ridge.
