 On Valentine's Day, 1999, my sister, Melissa and I headed  down to Valley Forge for a Creation Entertainment Sci-Fi Convention.  Early in the afternoon, an autograph dealer friend of mine was nice enough to tip us off to the fact that Mr. Shimmerman was currently sitting up in the hotel lobby, so Melissa and I went to have a look.  Sure enough!   There he was!  We joined the few fans already talking to him and he was courteous enough to offer to have his picture taken with those of us hanging around the lobby and to sign a few autographs.  Mr. Shimmerman was incredibly gracious and seemed very comfortable around the fans.  It was quite an experience to be able to talk to this fine actor in person!
