Welcome To The Hottest Bollywood Page On The Web

This Page is maintained by Jay Mamtora.

This may come as a surprise but India's film industry is actually much larger than Hollywood. Here, stars are made or destroyed almost every other Friday....So don't touch any other link - this is probably the hottest and the most updated page for info on Bollywood...so don't touch that mouse 'cos we're in control...read, watch and enjoy...!

To begin with, let's find out whose hot and whose not starting with the male actors - its a male dominated industry after all...!

(1)Shah Rukh Khan

Most successful movies: 'Deewana','Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman','Darr','Baazigar' 'Karan Arjun','Diwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Yes Boss', 'Pardes', 'Dil To Pagal Hai' & 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.

Best Performances: 'Deewana', 'Anjaam', 'Diwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Darr', 'Baazigar','Yes Boss', 'Pardes', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Dil Se..' & 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.

Awards: Best Actor for 'Baazigar' (Filmfare - 1994), Best Villian for 'Anjaam' (Filmfare - 1995), Best Actor for 'Diwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (Filmfare - 1996) & Best Actor for 'Dil To Pagal Hai' (Filmfare & Zee - 1998).

Current Status: Mr Khan had two reasons to smile in 1997 with 'Yes Boss' and 'Pardes'. And with 'Dil To Pagal Hai' the smile turned into roaring laughter. 'Duplicate' was supposed to duplicate the success of 'Dil To Pagal Hai' but unfortunately nothing of the sort happened. The hyped venture was a failure within two weeks of it's release. 'Dil Se..' was supposed to change all that - but the movie was rejected by the critics as well as the 'janta' - in fact it was touted as one of the biggest disasters and disappointments of 1998. However it was Karan Johar's mega bucks venture 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' that eliminated those doldrums by turning out to be the biggest money spinner last year....

Shah Rukh has reserves of hyperactivity enough for five actors. Darling of the masses as well as the classes. Always ready to grab a role that spells d-i-f-f-e-r-e-n-t. Khan has already worked with almost all the top film makers in the country and in 1999 with a spate of promising flicks Shah Rukh will be at more or less the same position this year...

Strengths:Never ending energy and hyperactivity which shows on screen. A complete workaholic and literally throws himself into each role every time the director yells 'action'...!

Weaknesses:Tends to ham and overact some times and has certain mannerisms that he uses in most of his flicks - which can become irritating. Loves to argue and hates to say 'Yes Boss...!'.

What to watch for: Mansoor Khan's 'Josh' (with Aishwarya Rai, Priya Gill, Sharad Kapoor & Chadrachur Singh), Shashilal Nair's 'Dil Sachcha Chehra Jhootha' (with Jackie & Juhi), David Dhawan's next (with Karisma & Raveena), K.C Bokadia's 'Aap Mere Hai Sanam' (with Salman & Madhuri), his joint production 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani' (with Juhi), Ram Gopal Varma's 'Shool' (with Raveena), Raj Kumar's Santoshi's next flick (co-starring Aamir - sounds interesting!!) & Abbas-Mustaan's 'Badshah' (with Twinkle).

(2)Aamir Khan

Most successful movies: 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak','Dil','Dil Hain Ke Maanta Nahin', 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke','Rangeela', 'Andaz Apna Apna', 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar', 'Raja Hindustani','Ishq' & 'Ghulam'.

Best Performances: 'Rangeela', 'Raja Hindustani', 'Dil', 'Akele Hum Akele Tum','Ishq' & 'Ghulam'

Awards: Best actor for 'Raja Hindustani' (Filmfare - 1997).

Current Status:One release, one hit. Aamir Khan started the trend of doing one film at a time. Although not many actors followed it, he seems pretty content with his style of working. No three shifts for this choosy Khan. He likes to work with his flicks from the scripting stage to the editing table. He painstakingly involves himself completely with his films, from giving ideas to boosting his co-star's confidence. Short in height but not on craft he almost always manages to steal the show from his co-stars with minimal effort - 'Ishq' not withstanding. And 'Ghulam' which ran solely because of him and off course 'Aati Kya Khandala...'

Strengths: Thoroughly proffesional. Aamir can always be counted on to give a great performance if not a hit film.

Weaknesses:Terribly methodical and meticulous. Very fussy and fixed in his way of thinking. And extremely stubborn if things don't go his way.

What to watch for: Dharmesh Darshan's 'Mela' (with Faisal & Twinkle), Deepa Mehta's 'Earth' (with Rahul Khanna), Indra Kumar's 'Mann' (with Manisha), Raj Kumar's Santoshi's next flick (co-starring Shah Rukh !!) & John Mathew's 'Sarfarosh' (with Sonali).

(3)Salman Khan

Most successful movies: 'Maine Pyar Kiya', 'Baaghi' ,'Andaz Apna Apna', 'Sanam Bewafa', 'Karan Arjun', 'Saajan', 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!', 'Jeet', 'Judwaa', 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya', 'Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hain' & 'Bandhan'.

Best Performances:'Karan Arjun', 'Veergati' , 'Judwaa', 'Hum Aaake Hain Koun...!', 'Khamoshi - The Musical', 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya' & 'Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai'.

Awards:None.

Current Status: Greatly under-rated, no thanks to his hostile image. But Salman has been consistent with the hits right from 'Maine Pyar Kiya' to more recently 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya', 'Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai' & Bandhan. Undoubtedly 1998 was Salman's year with three hits in a row - his presence in 'Bandhan' was the only reason why the movie was a hit. Proving to be a competent performer especially post 'Khamoshi' and more recently 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya' and 'Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai' where he was greatly appreciated. Salman is has become the craze - yet again. And lately Mr 'I am the best's personality has improved, with his co-stars who find him - surprisingly nice.

Strengths:A great looking face. One of the best bodies in the business and a freshness that refuses to fade. Spontaneous with a great female fan following - especially abroad. Being single certainly helps. His biggest asset is that he's somehow managed to get into the better books of the Rajshri people - they just can't do without him.

Weaknesses: Too hot to handle - ask the press. The lifestyle of a sexual butterfly - he chases anything that wears a skirt. And consider his unstable personal life - slapping Subhash Ghai or killing bucks in Jodhpur doesn't do much for his PR.

What to watch for: Sooraj Barjatya's 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' (with Karisma, Tabu & Saif), Sanjay Bhansali's 'Hum Dil De Chuke Hain Sanam' (with Ajay & Aishwarya), K.C Bokadia's 'Aap Mere Hai Sanam' (with Shah Rukh & Madhuri), Tips' 'Jaanam Samjha Karo (with Urmila), Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega' (with Karisma & Rani) & Sohail Khan's 'Hello Brother' (with Arbaaz & Rani Mukherji).

(4)Ajay Devgan

Most successful movies: 'Phool Aur Kaante', 'Vijaypath' , 'Naajayaz', 'Suhaag' , 'Jigar', 'Jaan', 'Dilwale', 'Ishq' & 'Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha'

Best Performances: 'Dhanwaan', 'Naajayaz', 'Diljale', 'Dilwale', 'Haqeeqat', 'Ishq' , 'Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha' & 'Zakhm'

Awards: Best Actor for 'Zakhm' (Screen 1999).

Current Status: 'Major Saab' laid an egg at the b-o. But a boost in his confidence came in the form his home production 'Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha' which was touted as one of the biggest hits last year - I guess patience always pays off as Ajay also won an award for his sensitive performance in 'Zakhm'. Not to mention his impending marriage to spunky Kajol - Ajay couldn't have asked for a better year.

The original action hero who's now switched to more sober stuff. Ajay is one guy who definitely believes in doing everything low - key. No publicity gimmicks, no politics, here's one guy who deals in straight business. He's now into production - a wise move to say the least.

Strengths: He has the infrastructure to launch a blockbuster at absolutely no cost at all - himself as the hero, papa Veeru as the director and girfriend Kajol as the heroine. He's a safe bet because almost all his movies fetch decent returns.

Weaknesses: Cannot really experiment with different kinds of roles. Tried comedy in 'Ishq' but fell short of expectations. Also accused of giving top priority to his home productions at the cost of other producers.

What to watch for: 'Hindustan Ki Kasam' (with Sushmita & Manisha), 'Kachche Dhaage' (with Saif & Manisha), Govind Nihlani's 'Takshak' (with Tabu), Deepak Shivdasani's 'Har Dil Ka Yehi Raasta' (with Madhuri & Rani), Prakash Jha's next venture (with Kajol & Juhi) & Sanjay Bhansali's 'Hum Dil De Chuke Hain Sanam' (with Salman & Aishwarya) .

(5)Govinda

Most successful movies:'Love '86', 'Ilzaam', 'Ghar Mein Ram Gali Mein Shyam', 'Khudgarz' 'Shola Aur Shabnam', 'Aankhen', 'Raja Babu', 'Coolie No. 1','Saajan Chale Sasural', 'Hero No.1', 'Deewana Mastana', 'Dulhe Raja' & 'Bade Miya Chhote Miya'.

Best Performances:'Khuddar', 'Coolie No.1', 'Saajan Chale Sasural', 'Hero No.1',' Aag', 'Deewana Mastana', 'Banarasi Babu', 'Dulhe Raja', 'Pardesi Babu' & 'Bade Miya Chhote Miya'.

Awards: Special Award for 'Saajan Chale Sasural' (Filmfare - 1997).

Current Status: Make him laugh, make him cry, ask him to dance and he'll do it all to pefection. Mr Wide Grin is an all rounder. Over the years, he's made a hit pair with David Dhawan and the duo have sustained several number ones at th b-o including 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' which ran solely because of Govinda - sorry Mr. Bachchan. Additionally however topped with four consecutive disasters - 'Aunty No 1', 'Achaanak', 'Pardesi Babu' & 'Maharaja'.

Strengths: His close association with David Dhawan and an enormous talent that is the envy of many an actor.

Weaknesses: Has a hideous dress sense - even though he's really trying hard to improve it. Added to which he could use a strict diet to get rid of all that fat. He also hasn't gained that much popularity in the overseas market - sad but true - the classes haven't yet accepted him. His movies tend to have mass appeal but he lacks class - a poor man's form of entertainment and too dependant on David Dhawan to churn out hits for him. Give him non-sensical comedies and the audience rush to the halls, give him tear jerkers and serious stuff and it's unfortunately thumbs down...

What to watch for: JSEL's 'Raju Raja Ram' (with Jackie, Salman & Manisha), 'Anari No.1', 'Rajaji' & (with Raveena), N.Chandra's 'Shikari' (with Tabu & Karisma), 'Haseena Maan Jayegi' (with Sanjay Dutt & Karisma), 'Hadh Kar Di Apne' (with Rani Mukherji), 'Kunwaara' & 'Hum Tumpe Marte Hain' (with Urmila) & 'Albela' (with Jackie & Aishwarya).

(6)Sunny Deol

Most successful movies:'Betaab', 'Tridev', 'Sunny', 'Ghayal', 'Damini', 'Lootere', 'Darr' 'Jeet','Ghatak','Ziddi' & 'Border'.

Best Performances:'Ghayal' , 'Damini' 'Border' & 'Ghatak'.

Awards: Best supporting actor for 'Damini' (Filmfare - 1993).

Current Status: 'Jeet', 'Ziddi', 'Ghatak' and 'Border'. The son of the soil bounced back like an echo and surprised all those who had written him off. And please lets forget 'Zor' and 'Salaakhen' for the time being!!! He proved his supremacy at the box office by coming out of exile and straight to the top league. He freed himself from brother Bobby's career and signed mega projects. And now he's also directing his home production 'Dillagi' to prove exactly how versatile he is...

Strengths:His powerful draw at the box office...the 'dhishum dhishum' comes so naturally as does a getlemanly demeanour which attracts women in hordes. Additionally his ever youthful look is a major plus point in itself.

Weaknesses: Sadly has two left feet - his foot stomping in 'Dhak Dhak' and 'Kammo' had the audiences sniggering in the aisles. To action oriented which is why 'Zor' and 'Salaakhen' failed to recreate the magic.

What to watch for: Dharmendra's 'Dillagi' (with Bobby & Urmila), 'Farz' (with Preity Zinta), Polygram's 'Pyaar Koi Khel Nahin' (with Mahima), Rahul Rawail's 'Arjun Pandit' and Guddu Dhanoa's next (with Juhi) & 'Champion' (with Manisha).

(7)Anil Kapoor

Most successful movies: 'Woh Saat Din', 'Meri Jung', 'Yudh', 'Mr India' , 'Ram Lakhan', 'Tezaab' 'Beta', 'Parinda' , 'Eeshwar', 'Laadla', 'Loafer', 'Karma' , 'Jaanbaaz', 'Kishen Kanhaiya', 'Judaai', 'Virasat' & 'Deewana Mastana'.

Best Performances:'1942 - A Love Story', 'Meri Jung' , 'Lamhe' , 'Eeshwar', Tezaab, 'Awaargi', 'Amba','Trimurti', 'Virasat' & 'Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain'.

Awards:Best Actor 'Tezaab' (Filmfare - 1988), Best Actor 'Eeshwar' (Filmfare - 1989), Best Actor 'Virasat' (Screen - 1998) & Critics Award 'Virasat' (Filmfare - 1998).

Current Status: Here's an actor who's been consistent throughout in his performances as well as the number of hits he delievers. Yes, Anil was going through a bad patch and there were people who were all set to write his obituary. But Anil silenced them all when he stormed bact with frour hits - 'Loafer', 'Judaai', 'Virasat' and 'Deewana Mastana'. We won't refer to 'Kabhi Na Kabhi', 'Gharwali Baharwali' & 'Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate' for now. With his hits he's here to stay back for a long time to come...

Strengths: Superb performer. Very professional and extremely involved in his work. He goes out of his way to make his flicks look better. And of course there's the ever helping hand of big brother Boney.

Weaknesses: He cannot fight age. Anil has to choose roles that suit his personality. For instance, he looked completely out of place in 'Deewana Mastana' mainly because of wrong characterisation.

What to watch for: 'Bulundi' (with Rekha & Raveena), 'Pukar' (with Madhuri), Subhash Ghai's 'Taal' (with Akshaye & Aishwarya), an untitled film (with Rani Mukherjee) & 'Biwi No 1' (with Salman & Karisma)

(8)Nana Patekar

Most successful movies: 'Ankush' , 'Tirangaa', 'Krantiveer', 'Parinda' & 'Agnisakshi'.

Best Performances:'Ankush' , 'Tirangaa', 'Krantiveer', 'Parinda', 'Agnisakshi', 'Yeshwant' & Khamoshi - The Musical.

Awards:Best villian for 'Parinda' (Filmfare - 1989) & Best actor for 'Krantiveer' (Filmfare - 1995)

Current Status: The messiah of the working class. The saviour of the downtrodden. Nana is the real life hero. His volatile outbusts and intense performances seem realistic because they are and perhaps his audiences recognise that. He is opposed to the system. The audience knows exactly what to expect when they buy a ticket for a Nana Patekar flick. He usually chips in one hit a year but post 'Ghulam-E-Mustafa' and the disastrous 'Yugpurush' & 'Wajood', critics have begun questioning whether Nana can carry a film on his own...

Strengths: Amazing actor - he is known for his dialogue delievery and punch lines, most of which are his own. Additionally he fits with equal ease into arty and commerciial projects.

Weaknesses: He interferes with aspects of direction and is apparently not too comfortable to work with - with him in a movie the others tend to get a raw deal. He is also no longer in that position to dance around the trees - he needs a supporting hero. Too repetitive at times.

What to watch for: Aziz Mirza's 'Jay Surya', Mehul Kumar's 'Kohram' (with the Big B), 'Billa No. 302' (with Juhi) & 'Abhiyaan' (co-starring Naseerudin Shah & Raveena)

(9)Sunil Shetty

Most successful movies:'Balwaan', 'Anth', 'Mohra', 'Gopi Kishen','Dilwale', 'Border' & 'Bhai'.

Best Performances: 'Krishna', 'Sapoot', 'Dilwale','Mohra' ,'Border' & 'Hu Tu Tu'.

Awards: None.

Current Status: Just when they wrote him off, he bounced back with a vengeance. Sunil began his career with hard core action movies but is now diversifying into different kinds of roles. And that's the best thing about this guy. Just when he realised that pure action was getting out of fashion, he switched channels. The super success of J.P.Dutta's 'Border' helped him more than anyone else connected to the movie, including Dutta himself. All thanks to Sunil's planned media splash. The flopping of 'Vinashak' & 'Aakrosh' doesn't seemed to have affected him much.

Strengths: His newly acquired tag of a serious actor is making people take notice of him. Already the master of action Mr Shetty is all set to woo the Priyadarshans, the Gulzars and the Dharmesh Darshans...but hey what happened to retirement - fat chance...!

Weaknesses: Still has a long way to cover on the acting scale. His extra macho image is quite a setback.

What to watch for: Dharmesh Darshan's 'Dhadkan' (with Akshay & Shilpa Shetty) , 'Hum Panchi Ek Daal Ke' & 'Sitaram Radheshyam' (with Aishwarya), Priyadarshan's 'Hera Pheri' (with Akshay & Tabu), 'Purab Ki Laila Paschim Ka Chaila' (with Akshay) & Kuku Kohli's next (with Juhi).

(10)Sanjay Dutt

Most successful movies: 'Rocky', 'Vidhaata', 'Thanedaar', 'Naam', 'Saajan', 'Khalnayak', 'Sadak' to name a few...

Best Performances: 'Khalnayak', 'Naam', 'Sadak' & 'Saajan'.

Awards: None.

Current Status: Sanjay Dutt is a name that everyone is familiar with. His life has been one roller coaster....prison, affairs, drugs, parties, success, failure - his life seems to be 'The book of how not to live by the rules'. Despite having no viable release over the past two years, Sanjay is all set to make a splash once more with almost every big banner dying to work with him ask Mukul Anand, Feroz Nadiadwala, Mahesh Bhatt etc. The only reason why he is fairly low in the list is due to the lack of any releases...except duds like 'Mahaanta' & 'Daud'. But he's still considered to be hot and seems to have the pick of projects at the moment.

Strengths: The audience regard him as their idol because like most stars his life has not been so hunky dory. What's more he doesn't really have a set image as such.

Weaknesses: Somewhere along the line Sunju seems to have lost the race to his younger contemporaries and the poor response to 'Daud' has only made matters worse for this middle aged stud.

What to watch for: Raj Kanwar's 'Daag - The Fire' (co -starring Chandrachur & Mahima), Mahesh Manjrekar's 'Vaastav' (Namrata Shirodkar), 'Khauf' (with Manisha & Saif), Sanjay Gupta's 'Jung' (with Jackie, Raveena & Shilpa), 'Safari' (with Juhi),Smita Thakeray's 'Hasina Maan Jayegi' (with Govinda & Karisma) & Mahesh Bhatt's 'Kartoos' (with Jackie & Manisha).

(11)Bobby Deol

Most successful movies: 'Barsaat', 'Gupt' & 'Soldier.

Best Performances:'Gupt'.

Awards:Discovery of the year (Filmfare - 1996).

Current Status: With 'Gupt' & more recently 'Soldier', Bobby danced out of the jumbo shadows of his dad and brother. But this Deol does only solo hero projects, unlike the other stars of his generation. So while he hogged all the credit for 'Gupt' he also got '...Aur Pyar Ho Gaya' as excess baggage. Not to mention the classic disaster 'Kareeb'.'Soldier' shut them all up though. The man of the 90's minus the biceps and triceps. Today, Bobby is running neck to neck with the Akshay Kumars and Akshaye Khannas of the industry. The competition is tough, but Bobby is confident. He has a spate of good flicks under his belt.

Strengths: Any female swears by the Deol junior's dashing good looks. He has the advantage of a 'filmi' background so he didn't have to struggle too much - he also has lots of support from brother Sunny...

Weaknesses: His Italian looks don't gel in with the 'charaana' crowd - he's not what your typical Hindi Film hero looks like. His hairstyle is no longer a fashion statement. Too laidback and also follows Sunny's advice blindly...

What to watch for: Dharmendra's ' Dillagi' (with Sunny & Urmila) & Kundan Shah's 'Hum To Mohabbat Karega' (with Karisma).

(12)Akshaye Khanna

Most successful movies: 'Border'.

Best Performances:'Himalayputra' ,'Border', 'Mohabbat', 'Doli Sajake Rakhna' & 'Aa Ab Laut Chalen'.

Awards:Discovery of the year (Screen/Filmfare/Zee - 1998) & Best Supporting actor for 'Border' (Zee 1998).

Current Status: He's not yet given a solo hit but he's still considered to be the the future superstar of Hindi movies. What's so special about him? Well, the fact that he's extremely appealing, he's one of the few single heroes around and the best thing is that he hardly has any real competition. He's come this far purely on the basis of his power packed performances in his debut venture 'Himalayputra' and J.P. Dutta's 'Border'. But yes, one does wonder whether the industry is reacting too hastily in crowning him the future king especially post the super disasters 'Kudrat' & 'Doli Sajake Rakhna'.

Strengths: Actor par excellence. Chiselled good looks, fiery screen presence, top banners and a massive female fan following. Things like his alleged romance with Aishwarya Rai only add to the spice. The good thing about Akshaye is that he's good at everything he does - action, comedy, emotions he tops it all.

Weaknesses: Unpredictable and moody. And boy - that receeding hairline...!

What to watch for: 'Lawaaris' (with Jackie, Dimple & Manisha), 'Love You Hamesha' & 'Dahak' (with Sonali), Rajat Rawail's 'Deewana Tere Naam Ka' (with Karisma) & Subhash Ghai 'Taal' (with Anil & Aishwarya).

(13)Akshay Kumar

Most successful movies: 'Khiladi', 'Sabse Bada Khiladi', 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' 'Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi', 'Mohra' & 'Yeh Dillagi'.

Best Performances: 'Yeh Dillagi', 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari', 'Mr & Mrs Khiladi', 'Aflatoon' & 'Angaaray'

Awards: None.

Current Status: This khiladi did not win any events last year or this year. Not a gold not even a bronze. It was just one egg after the other. 'Daava', 'Insaaf', 'Lahoo Ke Do Rang', 'Tarazu', 'Mr & Mrs Khiladi', 'Keemat' and more recently 'Barood' and 'Angaaray' all failed to draw in crowds. Though with due credit 'Angaaray' was a noble effort on his part. Always labelled a non-actor, paper tiger and fake, his flops only made matters worse. To top it all in 'Dil To Pagal Hai' he was reduced to playing second fiddle to Shah Rukh Khan. He still might bounce back with his new log of films though - just maybe...

Strengths: Stunts, stamina and a never say die attitude.

Weaknesses:Doesn't strike the right balalnce with the media - one month he'll be all over the covers while the next few months he'll vanish out of sight. And most importantly he maybe street smart but he's definitely not intelligent.

What to watch for: 'International Khiladi' & 'Zulmi' (with Twinkle), Dharmesh Darshan's 'Dhadkan' (co-starring Sunil & Shilpa Shetty), 'Arzoo' (with Saif & Madhuri), 'Virodh' (with Raveena), 'Hera Pheri' (with Sunil & Tabu), 'Jaanwar' (with Karisma), Tanuja Chandra's 'Andhera' (with Preity Zinta) & 'Purab Ki Laila Paschim Ka Chaila' (with Sunil & Namrata Shirodkar).

(14)Saif Ali Khan

Most successful movies: 'Aashiq Aawara', 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' & 'Yeh Dillagi'

Best Performances:'Main Khiladi Tu Anari', 'Suraksha', 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi', 'Keemat' & 'Yeh Dillagi'

Awards:None.

Current Status: For the past few years Saif has been relegated to the sidelines mainly because of churning flop after flop after. A safe bet when it comes to double hero projects but a complete no when it comes to solo starrers. Was hot in 1994 and it seems he might bounce bak this year with several hot projects under his belt namely Sooraj Barjatya's next...

Strengths: Good flair for comedy as well as being handsome and good looking.

Weaknesses: Unconvincing at action and a resounding no when it comes to solo starrers...

What to watch for: Tips' 'Kachche Dhaage' (with Ajay, Manisha & Namrata Shirodkar), Sooraj Barjatya's 'Hum Saath Saath Hain (with Salman, Sonali, Karisma & Tabu), ABCL's 'Lovearia' (with Karisma), Vikas Mohan's 'Aarzoo' (with Akshay & Madhuri), Mahesh Bhatt's 'Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan' (with Twinkle) & Kundan Shah's 'Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai' (co-starring Salman).

(15)Jackie Shroff

Most successful movies: 'Yudh', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Parinda', 'Hero', 'Khalnayak', 'Tridev', 'Agnisakshi', 'Rangeela', '100 Days', 'Gardish', 'Angaar', 'Aaina' & 'Border'

Best Performances:'1942 - A Love Story', 'Rangeela' , 'Parinda' & 'Aaina'.

Awards:Best Actor for 'Parinda' , Best supporting actor for 'Rangeela' & '1942 - A Love Story'.

Current Status: From 'Hero' upto now Jackie has always been a hassle free and cool actor. This cool attitude has almost always backfired. He is almost always starring in two hero projects and is usually a police inspector or an elder brother - and usually plays second fiddle. But this still hasn't kept the awards away from him. These days he's heavily into B - grade films with Mithun. However his company (JSEL) has announce a few good projects which might just do the trick

Strengths: Suave, stylish & sexy - almost any woman is ready to vouch for this almost perfect gentleman. Additionally his reasonable price, calm attitude and almost flawless performances all gel in with the producers...

Weaknesses: Too trusting and emotional to be a good businessman. Not too selective mainly to solve his financial mess where JSEL is concerned. Too moody for his own good.

What to watch for: 'Lawaaris' (with Dimple, Akshaye & Manisha), 'Grahan' (with Manisha), Mazhar Khan's 'Gang' (with Juhi), Shashilal Nair's 'Dil Sachcha Chehra Jhootha' (with Shah Rukh & Juhi), 'Albela' (with Govinda, Aishwarya & Namrata Shirodkar), Mahesh Bhatt's 'Kartoos' (with Sanjay & Manisha), Sanjay Gupta's 'Jung' (with Sanjay, Shilpa & Raveena) & JSEL's 'Raju Raja Ram' (with Salman, Govinda & Manisha).
