Jennifer stared out the window of the airplane wishing it would hurry up and
land. She had spent the past six hours torturing herself about the past five
or so months. "Please, let him not hate me;" she whispered to herself as the
plane prepared to land. With a bit of a thud, the wheels came out and the
plane began to taxi along the run way. As the plane began to slow down, Jenn's
heart began to speed up. Trying to calm herself down, she closed her eyes,
took deep breaths and leaned her head against the seat. She recalled her
conversation with Mac earlier that day, when she was given the information she
had requested...
"This is his address and phone number in L.A. Are you sure about this?" Mac
had asked.
"I'm absolutely sure. I just spent nearly a month in the hospital. I can't
live the rest of my life like this. I can't even live one more day like this.
I'm going to L.A. tonight."
"Jennifer, what if - -" He stopped, not wanting to hurt her anymore than she
already was.
"What if he won't have me?" she asked. "Then, I'll come back here and try to
pick up the pieces. But I have to try. You do understand, don't you, Uncle
Mac?"
Mac sighed as he looked at the woman who stood before him, remember the young
carefree girl she had once been. "I understand. Good luck."
"Thank you."
The plane stopping brought Jenn back to the present. She stood up, stretched, reached for her bag then stepped off the plane. Once she was out of the airport she looked around hesitantly, not quite sure what to do next. It was dark out and more than a little chilly. She had listened to the weather report earlier and it had said that L.A. had been getting soaked with thunder and lightning storms. 'Just what I need', she thought. Finally, after a few minutes she hailed a cab and gave him Alex's address. It was a pleasant 20 minute ride that passed uneventfully for her. All she could think about was Alex. She shut her eyes and pictured him in her mind. 'How stupid am I for letting him go?' she wondered to herself. 'It would serve me right if he didn't take me back.' The driver stopped the cab infront of the apartment building. She gave him his money and stepped out of the cab. Taking another deep breath she walked toward the apartment building. She tried the door, but it was locked. 'Damn, it's a buzzer system...well, Alex was always one for safety first.' She looked on the directory for his name.....'Garcia, A. Apartment 3G' She pressed the buzzer but there was no response. He wasn't home. She checked her watch and discovered that it was only eight p.m. He wouldn't be home for at least another two hours. Jenn hugged her jacket to her and sat against the building. She wanted to see him, but she was a bit too nervous to go to the police station to find him. 'I'll just wait until him comes home.' The emotional stress must have gotten the better of her, because the next thing she knew, she was awoken by a loud clap of thunder. Seconds later the lightning struck and the rain came pouring down. 'Oh no! There's no overhang! Great. I'm going to look like a drowned rat by the time Alex gets here.' Jenn checked her watch, it was five minutes till 10:00. 'Get home soon. Please.' She began to shiver, her coat and the rest of her clothing completely soaked. Suddenly she saw headlights approaching the parking lot. The driver pulled the car into a spot and sat there for a few moments, absorbed in a song. "How do I live with out you baby....." LeAnn Rimes' voice filled the car as the last strains of "How Do I Live" played on the radio. When the song was over, the driver sighed, turned off the radio, shut off the ignition, reached over for an umbrella then got out of the car, locking it and turning the alarm on simultaneously with the gadget on his keyring. Jenn watched intently, trying to decide if it was him or not. Unable to tell, she hugged her knees to her chest and put her head down, not wanting to face a complete stranger feeling as horrible as she felt at that precise moment. She heard the footsteps approach and stop short infront of her. She knew the person was looking at her but she didn't look up. She had no idea it was Alex until she he began to speak.
"Oh my God - - Jennifer?" He looked down in disbelief. He had been dreaming about her almost every night since she called off the engagement. He wanted to see her, desperately, but he never thought that he'd come home from work to find her practically on his doorstep. Jenn looked up at him, her face stained from tears. His heart went out to her immediately. He knew her well enough to know that she had been going through the same hell he had. Nothing had changed for either of them in the past 4 months. Not a thing.
"Jenn...what are you - -, I mean, why are you - -" He stopped, unable to finish his sentece. He looked closely at her and saw that she was shivering. "Come here, let's get you out of the rain and into something warm and dry." He helped her up, put his arm firmly around her waist and opened the door to his building. Once they were inside, he closed the umbrella, leaned down and picked Jenn up. He held her close to him, her head resting on his shoulder as he hurried to the elevator. Neither of them spoke a word until they reached the privacy of his apartment. He brought her directly to his bedroom and set her down. He went to his dresser and pulled out a pair of sweats, a sweatshirt and socks. "Put these on. You must be freezing. It's not summer out here. I'll be right back." He left the room and headed for the kitchen to make some tea for her. He still bought tea every time he went shopping. It was almost like having a part of her with him. Now he was glad he had it. He dried up the floor and locked the door. He was about to turn around to head back to the room when he saw her standing there. He stared at her for second, unable to speak. Even with her wet hair and the too large clothing she was beautiful. 'Why didn't I fight harder to keep her?' He wondered. They stood staring at each other for several minutes. Finally, unable to hold herself back, she began to silently cry, as she began to speak.
"You...you...you must be wondering why I'm here." She said softly. Her heart was pounding something fierce. Suddenly the thought of rejection was too much for her. All the feelings the feelings that she thought she felt were compounded now, just because she was standing there facing him. Alex cleared his throat before responding.
"Well, I have to admit, it was quite a shock, seeing you here. I mean, its not like you just came around the corner. Port Charles is 3,000 miles away. So, yeah, I guess I am wondering why you're here." 'and I'm hoping its because you miss me as much as I miss you' he added silently.
"I don't know even why I came here. I mean, I do know, I just....didn't plan it out. I asked Uncle Mac for your address and phone number out here. He gave it to me and I hopped on the next plane out of Port Charles....I just knew that I had to see you." The dam was beginning to break and the tears were coming harder and faster. Alex watched her for a moment, unsure of what to do. After a few seconds his instinct took over and he walked over to her, pulled her close to him, wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly. She put her arms around him, clinging to him as if for dear life. She pulled away slightly and looked up at him, shaking from cold as well as nerves, she took a deep breath and said what she had come to say. "Alex...I came here because I....I need you. No, no, it's more than that. I know how this is going to sound but....I love you. And I have tried so hard to be brave and pretend that I could get over not having you in my life any more (she begins to sob, but breathes deeply to keep her voice from shaking) but I can't do it anymore. I don't even know if you can stand the sight of me but I had to come back and try..." Alex pulled her even closer and held her tighter, his tears falling into her hair.
"Love...are you telling me that you want to be with me?"
"Yes. I want to be with you."
"Oh Love. I think I have dreamt about hearing you say that almost every night
since you called off the engagement. And now I'm hearing them and...." he
stops, too choked up in emotions to continue. Jenn reaches up and puts her
arms around his neck. She pulls his head down closer to her, closes her eyes
and kisses him. He stiffens for a second, then returns the kiss. The kiss
grows more passionate as the seconds pass. He's about to pick her up to bring
her to his bedroom when the teapot whistles, jolting them both back into
reality. Alex untangles himself from her and goes over to shut off the stove.
"I was going to make you some tea..." Jenn walks over to him and puts her arms
around his waist. "Mmm, not now, thank you. Maybe later."
"Somehow, I didn't think you wanted it." He turns around, picks her up, and carries her into the bedroom. He puts her on the bed and is about to join her when he pulls back a little. "Jenn, there isn't a single doubt in my mind. I want to make love with you. But, I don't want you to have any regrets...."
"I won't have any. Being here, being with you has never felt so right. I had one major regret and that was being stupid enough to let you go. That is never happening again." Alex just smiles at her as he moves to join her on the bed. He gently lays ontop of her, runs his hands through her hair and kisses her. She returns the kiss and moves her hands to unbutton his shirt. Once its unbuttoned she moves her hands under the shirt over his muscular chest. Just feeling his skin again sends currents up her spine. He moves one hand from her hair and moves it to the bottom of her shirt. He reaches under the shirt and is pleasantly surprised to find that she is not wearing a bra. He begins to massage her breast, playing with the nipple. Jenn moans softly as she moves her hands to his pants, she unbuckles his belt and begins to unzip his pants. As she does so he groans because she is inadvertantly rubbing against his growing erection. She gets his pants down, off his hips, then moves her body so that he is forced to get off her. She pushes him a bit so that he ends up on his back. She gets on top of him, and starting from the neck, trails kisses all the way down to his stomach. "Oh Jenn." His words are barely above a whisper. She smiles at him for a moment then moves down to take his pants all the way off. After she does that, she takes his underwear off completely, bends down and takes him in her mouth sucking gently, enjoying the taste of him. Alex moans as he moves his hands to the sides of her head to help keep her centered. As she sucks he becomes harder and his moans louder. Never taking her mouth off him she keeps alternating between sucking and licking. Alex moans again as he feels himself on the edge of orgasm. "Love...if you want to stop you'd better now...." Jenn didn't respond, she just increased the pressure of her mouth on him, sending him over the edge into orgasm. He shuddered for a second. She swallowed every bit, for the first time ever and she wasn't sorry she did. Alex smiled at her for a second before hauling her up to his level and rolling her under him. "It's my turn now," he said before moving down her body to her pussy. He gently spread her legs wide and buried his head in her already wet curls. He used his tounge and his lips on her clitoris, alternately sucking and licking. She thrusts her hips upward and she moans with pleasure. He brings her to the edge of orgasm and then stops. Jenn groans with disappointment. Alex laughs quietly and positions himself to enter her. He does, ever so slowly in a teasing way. "Alex...no....no teasing...not tonight...please..." she begs him. He doesn't answer, just smiles and begins to thrust into her hard and fast. She cries out as she wraps her legs around his waist. He thrusts into her again as she shoves her hips up to meet him. After a few minutes she closes her inner muscles around him and begins her climax. He leans down to kiss her, his tounge gaining entry into her mouth as he thrusts harder into her. Seconds later he begins his orgasm, with his moans matching hers. She pulls him to her and kisses him hard as they both come down. After resting for a moment he rolls over and brings her to rest on top of him. He kisses her lips and looks at her with tears in her eyes. "I hope you know what you're getting into, Little One. I'm not about to lose you again." Jenn just stared at him for a second before answering. "I know what I'm getting into. And trust me, you'll never, ever lose me again." She hugs him tightly, then slides off him, on to the bed next to him. leans her head on his chest, closes her eyes and happily drifts off to sleep. He smiles down ather, and covers them both up. "Welcome home, Love." He whispers as he kisses her temple. He smiles down at her once more, then reaches over to shut off thelight. He takes her in his arms and falls asleep knowing that she has finally come home.
