THE AFTERMATH

Lisa sat at her desk, looking at her watch. It was Greg's day off, but he had promised to meet her at the end of her shift so that they could play a game of racquetball. Racquetball is a sport that Lisa had been passionate about since she was in junior high. It was fun and it was a great work out. Sighing again, she stared at the phone willing it to ring. Not two seconds later, the phone rang. Grabbing for the phone Lisa picked up before the first ring was finished. "Fifteenth Squad"

"Lisa? It's Greg."

"Greg? Where are you?" she asked impatiently. "You're supposed to be here by now." Greg sighed; he had a feeling that Lisa would react like that. But, he just wasn't in the mood to play racquetball. He really only played because it meant so much to Lisa.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. But I can't get there today. I'm so caught up in things that I have to do around here...."

"Oh, I understand." She let out a sigh; "it's just that I already reserved the court." Greg sighed, he knew that Lisa hated making plans and then breaking them, but he just wasn't in the mood.

"I know, Lise. But I promise I'll make it up to you, okay?"

"Okay, uh, I'd better call and cancel the court so I'll let you go."

"Okay," he said. "I'll talk to you later. I love you, Lissie" he said, using his favorite nickname for her.

"I love you, too." She said. "I'll call you tonight, bye."

"Bye." Lisa heard the connection break as Greg hung up the phone. Sighing again, Lisa depressed the dial and began dialing the number to the health club when Danny walked over to her.

"Don't cancel the court," he said. Lisa looked up at him for a second and didn't respond. "I'll go with you." He said, his heart pounding.

"You play racquetball?"

"Yeah.... Not very well, but I play." Lisa smiled, she still felt a little uncomfortable around Danny because he had asked her out not too long ago, but she didn't see what harm there was in an innocent game of racquetball.

"Okay," she said with a smile. "You're on."

"Great," Danny responded. This could turn out to be very good for him. Very, very good.

~~

Several hours later Lisa and Danny were standing on the racquetball court, sweating profusely after just having finished a game. Turning to Lisa, Danny said "I've got to hand it to you, you are good."

"Thanks," Lisa replied with a smile. "You're actually better then you let on."

"It doesn't matter," he shrugged. "You still whipped my butt." Lisa just laughed at him before tossing him a bottle of water and a towel. "Thanks," he said, wiping the sweat off his neck.

"Don't mention it. Uh, listen, I usually grab a bite to eat after I play racquetball...would you like to join me?" Danny looked at her for a second before responding.

"I'd like that."

"Great," she said. "I'll meet you outside in the waiting area after my shower."

"Okay," he said. When he was gone, Lisa turned and headed into the women's locker room to take her shower. While in there she began thinking about Greg and suddenly this innocent meal with Danny was starting to make her uncomfortable.

After all, she knew he was attracted to her and she and didn't want to lead him on. Intentionally or otherwise. Sighing to herself she turned off the water and stepped out of the shower. "It's just a hamburger, Lisa. There is nothing wrong with it," she muttered to herself, trying to make herself believe it. Taking one last deep breath to calm herself she walked out to the waiting area where she saw Danny waiting for her. "Waiting long," she asked.

"About 10 minutes. I took my time." He smiled at her as he stood up. "We should do this more often.... Play racquetball, I mean."

"Well, I usually play with Greg," she said. "But incase he's absentee again...."

"I'd be happy to fill in for him," he said. "I like spending time with you, Lisa." He said, then realized that he had probably said too much. "I mean..."

"It's okay, Danny." She said. "It's actually kind of flattering."

"Really?" She nodded, "well in that case," he held out an arm to her, "shall we?"

"Let's." ~~

The next morning, Lisa walked in to the sqadroom where she was met by a smiling Greg. "Good morning," he said, cheerfully.

"Good morning," she said, leaning up to kiss him quickly. "You look awfully happy this morning."

"I'm standing here with you, what more do I need?" Lisa laughed while blushing softly. "Come here, I have a surprise with you."

"A surprise for me?" She asked, holding on to his hand as they walk to her desk. Lisa looked at an assortment of muffins in a basket sitting on her desk. "What's this?" she asked with a smile.

"Breakfast," he said, pulling out her chair for her. "As my way of trying to make up last night."

"Greg, there's nothing to make up for. You couldn't come, that's all. I understood." Greg smiled at her as he sat down next to her. Because they were engrossed in their conversation, neither of them noticed Danny walk in. As soon as he did, he noticed Lisa and Greg sitting together, eating and acting very cozy and he didn't like it.

He was concentrating on them so hard that he didn't see Andy come in or hear him address him. "Good morning, everyone," Lt. Fancy said as he walked into the sqadroom, breaking Danny's gaze.

"Morning, Lieu," Andy said, shaking his head. Something was definitely up with that kid Sorenson, and he was going to find out what. Eventually, anyway.

"Lieutenant," Lisa said, standing up. "Greg brought in muffins this morning, and I set aside a banana-nut one for you."

"Thank you, Lisa" he said, taking the muffin. "And I was just thinking about how I didn't have time to eat breakfast today." He looked at Greg; "it was nice of you to bring in muffins."

"Oh, uh, it's no problem," He said, smiling. "There's plenty for everyone, if you all want some." Everyone nods and says thank you as the head towards the muffins. Just as Lt. Fancy reached his office, the phone rang. After listening to intently to the person on the phone, Fancy hung up and headed over to Lisa.

"Well, I'm afraid that breakfast is going to have to wait for you and James." He said, looking around the room. "Where is James?"

"He's not coming in today, he called in sick." The PAA said from her desk.

"Oh," he said. "Well, in that case, Andy and Danny, I want you to work it with her." They nodded as they walked over towards Lisa.

"Where is it?" Lisa asked.

"It's just outside of Central Park."

"Let's go," Andy said. Lisa and Danny nodded as they followed Andy out of the squad room.

~~

“What do we have here?” Lisa asked, the uniformed cop that was waiting for them. “White female, pretty young, no ID. D.O.A.” He said.

“Who found her?” Andy asked. The cop pointed in the direction of the crowd that was increasing in numbers as the seconds passed.

“That man over there, says his name is Peter Johnson.”

“Did he see anything?” Danny asked.

“Not that he’s admitting too,” the cop said with a shrug. “He says that he just came out of his apartment building and happened to see her there.”

“‘Happened to see her there?’” Andy repeated. He didn’t like the way that sounded. “Lisa, I know this is your case but if you don’t mind…”

“Go ahead, Andy” Lisa said. She knew how Andy’s mind worked and she could already hear the wheels turning in his mind. “Let’s go see who this Jane Doe is,” she said to Danny.

“After you,” Danny said, following her over to the body. When they pulled back the white sheet they both realized that this girl had not only been stabbed repeatedly, but her skirt had been ripped to shreds and her underwear was gone. If she had been wearing any at all.

With out realizing it, Lisa let out a small gasp. “Oh my god,” she murmured. She felt the blood rush to her face, making her feel feverish. It was like being sucked into a time warp.

“Lisa, are you all right?” Danny asked as he looked at her. “You look sick.” Lisa shook her head.

“This girl…I can’t say for sure, but I think she was raped before she was killed.” She sighed. “Another girl, this is unbelievable. The same age, too.”

“The same age as who?” He asked.

“Karen. My best friend.” Lisa said, her voice monotone. Danny looked at her and didn’t like the look he saw in her eyes. Without asking anymore questions of her, Danny deduced correctly that her best friend had been raped and murdered.

“I’m sorry, Lisa” he said, for lack of anything better. Without thinking, he put his arm around her and pulled her close. Feeling as bad as she did at that moment, she didn’t pull away, she welcomed the comfort. Both were so wrapped up in the moment that neither of them saw Andy watching them from the distance.

~So that’s it~ Andy thought to himself. ~Sorenson wants Lisa for himself.~ Andy shook his head. This was a situation that he definitely would have to deal with.

~~

“How’d it go?” Lt. Fancy asked as the three detectives walked back into the sqadroom.

“Well, we think it’s a rape/murder, but we won’t know more until after the autopsy.” Danny answered for Lisa, who was still very shaken. Fancy looked at her and questioned her on her appearance.

“Lisa, are you all right?” He asked. Lisa nodded slowly, then took a deep breath as if to steady herself.

“I’m fine, Lieu.” Lisa said, not convincing anyone, let alone herself. Fancy looked at her with an expression that clearly said ‘I don’t believe you.’

“Lisa, please come into my office.” Lisa nodded and followed him. Once the door was closed she let out a sigh.

“I’m sorry, Lieu. I really am all right. This case just got to me a little more then usual. That’s all.”

“Why?”

“Because…when I was 17, my best friend was raped and murdered.”

“Lisa…I’m sorry. Look, if you’d like you can give the case to Andy and Danny.” Lisa shook her head. She wanted the case. She wanted to put whoever was doing this behind bars. They never caught Karen’s killer, but she was bound and determined to catch this one. “Okay. If you think you can handle it, that’s fine. But if anything happens, you give the case over to them, okay?”

“Okay. Thanks Lieu,” she said as she stood up and left his office. Right now, she wanted to be with Greg. He knew the whole story and he was the best there was at comforting her. When she couldn’t find him, she asked Diane where he went.

“Oh, he caught a case. I came in a bit late so he is working it with Jill.”

“Oh.”

“Lisa, are you okay? I mean, really okay?” Lisa nodded.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks though.”

“No problem.”

~~

The rest of the afternoon flew by as Lisa and Danny interrogated several people that could have been involved. When Greg got back to the squad, Andy was waiting for him. “Hey Medavoy, I need to talk to you for a second.”

“Sure thing, Andy.” He said. Andy nodded towards the locker room. Greg followed him in and sat on the bench. “What’s up?”

“I got something to tell you, and it isn’t good.”

“What’s it about?”

“Lisa. And that kid Sorenson.” Greg felt his heart begin to pound.

“What about them?”

“When we were at the crime scene…I was away from them. I was interviewing a potential witness. They were over at the body.”

“Get to the point, Andy.”

“Well, I turned around and I saw them. Sorenson had his arms around her and she was leaning against him.” Greg looked like he had been hit hard in the stomach. Lisa and Danny? He knew that Danny had a thing for her, but he never suspected that she would return his affections.

“Are you sure that you aren’t taking something innocent and turning it to something sordid?”

“I don’t think so, Medavoy. I love Lisa like a kid sister and I don’t say that about too many people, you know that.” He paused. “I’m not trying to start trouble here. I just thought that you ought to know.” Greg nodded, that was an awful lot to digest.

“Well, thank you Andy. I appreciate you telling me this.” Andy opened his mouth to respond, but before he could, the door opened and Lisa walked in.

“Am I interrupting something?” She asked.

"No,” Andy said. “As a matter of fact, I was just leaving. Sylvia’s the riding DA today and I want to get home to Theo.”

“Bye Andy.” Greg and Lisa said in unison.

“Bye.” He mumbled as he headed out the door, making sure to close it behind him. When he did, Greg instantly turned on Lisa.

“Anything out of the ordinary happen today?”

“No. Well, not really.”

“What do you mean, ‘not really’?” He asked. Lisa looked at him for a moment; sure that she heard anger in his voice, though she couldn’t imagine why he’d be angry with her.

“I had a rape/murder case today and it brought back some bad memories for me,” she paused. “You remember, right? I told you about Karen.” Greg nodded, he was getting angry listening to her, he knew that she was going to deliberately leave out Danny Sorenson’s part in the deal.

“Nothing else?” He asked.

“No,” she said. “Greg? What are you driving at?” She asked, sensing there was something wrong.

“What the hell were you doing out there today?!” He exploded. “You know that Sorenson has a thing for you! You let him put his arms around you!”

“I…how did you find out about that?” She asked, instantly regretting the question. She knew that by asking that, it only served to make her sound guilty and she didn’t do anything wrong. Neither of them did. She was upset and Danny comforted her that was all there was to it.

“It doesn’t matter how I found out,” Greg said. “The point is, it happened. You have feelings for him, don’t you?”

“What?! Greg, you’re being ridiculous,” she said. “I was upset and you weren’t there. Danny was just a friend to lean on, that’s all.”

“Andy was there, why didn’t you ‘lean on’ him?” Lisa sighed. This was the last thing she needed right now.

“I don’t owe you any explanations Greg. You do not own me.” She paused for a moment before continuing. “However, the reason why I didn’t ‘lean on’ Andy is because he wasn’t with me when I saw the body of that young girl. Danny was. End of story.”

“Oh no,” Greg said, not satisfied with her explanation. “That is not the end of the discussion.” Lisa shook her head in disbelief. She started to walk out of the room but Greg grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back.

“Ouch! Greg, stop it!” Lisa cried out. She had never seen this side of Greg before and she didn’t like it. What she didn’t realize, was that this was Greg’s way of reacting to the fear he felt over losing her. “Let go of me.”

“Fine. Good bye, Lisa.” He said, picking up his overcoat and walking out of the room with out a look back.

“Greg, wait! Don’t - -“ She was interrupted by the sound of the door slamming behind him. When he left, Lisa leaned back against her locker and began to cry.

~~

Danny was working at his desk when he heard the door of the locker room slam. He looked up just in time to see a red face Greg stalking towards the door. He wasn’t sure if he had heard correctly, but he thought he heard Greg mumble “you’ll pay for this Danny.” Realizing that something horrible must have happened, he got up and headed for the locker room.

“Lisa?” He called in, through the door. “Are you in there?” When there was no response he opened the door a crack and peeked through. He couldn’t see her, but he knew she was there. Opening the door all the way, he walked in and quickly shut the door behind him. He looked around and saw Lisa slumped down against her locker, crying her eyes out.

“Lisa? What’s wrong?” he asked.

“Greg…. He…. I….” she couldn’t continue because she was crying so hard. She couldn’t believe that Greg had walked out on her like that. In all the time that they had been together he never did that before. Danny sat down next to her and pulled her close.

“Shhh. Lisa, you have to stop crying. Calm down and tell me what happened.” Lisa nodded as she tried to pull herself together. Taking a deep breath, she steadied her voice and began to speak.

“Greg and I had a huge fight,” she said. “He accused me of…I don’t even know of what. Of being too friendly with you, I guess.”

“With me?” Danny asked, surprised. “What does that mean?”

“Apparently Andy saw us this morning, at the crime scene.” She paused and took another breath. “He misinterpreted what he saw and when Greg came back, he told him.” Danny groaned. That was definitelynot good.

“Lisa, I am so sorry.” He paused; he could only imagine what Andy had thought. He knew that he didn’t do the greatest job of hiding his feelings for Lisa, but he would never make a move on her. He had too much respect for her relationship with Greg. But obviously, Andy didn’t see it that way.”

“It’s not your fault,” she said. “It’s not even Andy’s. It was a misunderstanding. That’s all.” ~If only Greg would just see it that way~ Lisa thought.

“Listen, let me take you home and make sure you’re okay.”

“Danny, I really appreciate it, but I don’t think…” Danny put a finger to her lips, interrupting her.

“Lisa, this isn’t a come on, I promise. I just don’t think you should be alone right now. And I don’t want you driving.” Lisa nodded, she knew that Danny was right. With the way she felt, she really shouldn’t be behind the wheel. That would only cause more trouble.

“Okay,” she said. Danny stood up and then held out his hand to her. Danny gently lifted her to her feet. “Thank you.” She said.

“For what?” He asked.

“For helping me. It’s nice to know that someone cares.”

~~

“Danny, where are we going? My apartment is the other way.”

“I know,” he said. “But, I know a great bar that serves excellent food. I know for a fact that you haven’t eaten since this morning and you have to eat.”

“I’m not hungry,” Lisa said with a sigh. She just wanted to go home and be miserable.

“Well, in that case you can watch me eat, because I’m starved” he said, hoping to get Lisa to smile. He looked pleased when she did, even though it was only for an instant. “Lisa, cheer up. Greg’s just a little hot under the collar right now. I bet you twenty dollars that he either calls you tonight or shows up for work tomorrow with a dozen long stemmed red roses.”

“You really think so?”

“Sure,” he said, although he wasn’t sure at all. “It’s that hideous male ego. It’s incredibly frail and when it gets bruised…” he paused for a second. “Well, let’s just say that it isn’t pretty.”

“Are you speaking from experience?” Lisa asked, amused.

“Uh, actually? Yes.” Lisa laughed. “What’s so funny?”

“Nothing. Nothing at all.”

~~

By the time their meal had ended, both Lisa and Danny were more then a little tipsy. They were definitely drunk, but only to a point. Both were coherent enough to know what they were doing. “Danny, I’m too woozy to drive and I don’t want you behind the wheel either.” Lisa said.

“My apartment is three blocks away. Let’s walk it.”

“What about your car?”

“Don’t worry about it. I’m friends with the owner,” he paused. “And I have great insurance.” Lisa looked at him. She knew she was borderline drunk, but she didn’t want to open herself up to a situation that she couldn’t get herself out of. Danny noticed the look and was quick to reassure her. “I’ll drive you home in a few hours.”

“Okay. Let’s go.”

~~

When they got to Danny’s apartment, she was impressed by how immaculate it was. “Wow, you are a great house keeper, Danny” she said. “And I know that you didn’t do this for me, because you didn’t know I’d be coming here.” Danny smiled.

“I’m a bit of a neat freak. I can’t seem to help myself.” He laughed, “I was always made fun of in high school for it.”

“Really? Well, me too,” she said. “I mean, I’m a neat freak, but I didn’t get made fun of for it.”

“Well, not to sound sexist or anything, but with a girl it’s more easily accepted then with a guy.” Lisa didn’t respond, she just looked at him. “Uh-oh. I’ve learned its not a good thing when you don’t respond.”

“Why do you say that?”

“Because, it usually means that you’re planning your next line of attack.” Lisa laughed. Despite the whole situation, she was actually feeling better and she realized that she really enjoyed Danny’s company.

“First of all, I don’t plan attacks, they just come naturally” she said with a grin. “And second of all, would you mind turning on some music? It’s too quiet in here.”

“Sure, no problem.” He said, walking towards his sound system. “Anything in particular you want to hear?”

“Nothing loud,” she said. “Soft stuff.”

“Are love songs okay or would you rather not hear them right now?” He asked. Lisa shrugged.

“I don’t mind hearing them, if you don’t mind.”

“Nope. I like love songs, actually.” He turned and looked at her with a grin. “Just don’t tell anyone. You’ll blow my tough cop cover.”

“Oh, I wouldn’t dreamof it.” She said with a giggle. She was starting to feel some unfamiliar stirrings inside her and she was beginning to see Danny in a new light. He wasn’t just a co-worker anymore. He and proven himself to be her friend.

“Gee, thank you so much.” He turned the radio on and switched to his favorite soft rock station. “This a good station because they don’t talk all that much.”

“That’s good. I hate it when they do that.”

“Me too.” As soon as he turned the volume up, a love song began to play. Walking over to Lisa, he put his arms around her, and pulled her close. Instinctively she knew that he wasn’t going to hurt her and it felt good to be in his arms….

I know just how to whisper
And I know just how to cry
I know just where to find the answers
And I know just how to lie

I know just how to fake it
And I know just how to scheme
I know just when to face the truth
And then I know just when to dream

And I know just where to touch you
And I know just what to prove
I know when to pull you closer
And I know when to let you loose

And I know the night is fading
And I know the time's gonna fly
And I'm never gonna tell you
Everything I gotta tell you
But I know I gotta give it a try

And I know the roads to riches
And I know the ways to fame
I know all the rules
And I know how to break 'em
And I always know the name of the game

But I don't know how to leave you
And I'll never let you fall
And I don't know how you do it
Making love out of nothing at all

Out of nothing at all, out of nothing at all
Out of nothing at all, out of nothing at all
Out of nothing at all
Making love out of nothing at all

Every time I see you all the rays of the sun are
Streaming through the waves in your hair
And every star in the sky is taking aim at your eyes
Like a spotlight

The beating of my heart is a drum and it's lost
And it's looking for a rhythm like you
You can take the darkness from the pit of the night
And turn into a beacon burning endlessly bright

I've gotta follow it 'cause everything I know
Well it's nothing till I give it to you

I can make the runner stumble
I can make the final block
And I can make every tackle at the sound of the whistle
And I can make all the stadiums rock

And I can make tonight forever
Or I can make it disappear by the dawn
And I can make you every promise that has ever been made
I can make all your demons be gone

But I'm never gonna make it without you
Do you really wanna see me crawl?
And I'm never gonna make it like you do
Making love out of nothing at all

Out of nothing at all, out of nothing at all
Out of nothing at all, out of nothing at all
Out of nothing at all, out of nothing at all
Out of nothing at all.

As they moved to the music, Lisa began to cry softly. She wasn’t sure if she was crying over Greg, or crying over her guilt. She felt incredible with Danny, but she also knew that she wasn’t sober and that this feeling might not last in the light of day. “Danny, I…” she began, but she was stopped by the feeling of his lips on hers. It was only for an instant and then Danny pulled away.

“Lisa, I’m so sorry…I didn’t mean to…” He stopped, not able to complete his sentence, he was so flustered. Lisa just pulled him closer, closed her eyes and kissed him; Softly at first, then harder and with more passion. “Lisa…” he said, breathlessly.

“I don’t know what’s coming over me,” she admitted. “But I can’t stop it either.” And the truth was, she didn’t want to stop it. The music, the alcohol and her pain had all mingled together into one emotion. All she wanted right now was to be with someone. All she wanted was to be with Danny. She was falling in love with him, although she wasn’t ready to admit it when she was sober. But tonight, it was okay. Just this once, it couldn’t hurt…

“Are you sure?” He asked, his resolve weakening by the second. He wanted her, but he had to make sure that this was what she wanted.

“Yes.” Danny began to kiss her again as he picked her up and headed towards his bedroom.

~~

Once they were in his bedroom, all their trepidation was forgotten. All either of them saw now, were each other. Danny began to kiss her gently as he put one hand on her back and pulled him to her. He moved his other hand to her breast and began massaging gently. Lisa moaned softly, there was something about Danny’s touch that was unfamiliar.

Leaning up to kiss him, she moved her hands to his shirt and began to unbutton it. Once it was completely opened, she began to run her hands across his chest. To her surprise he was very muscular and she could tell that he worked out often. Danny moved his hands to her shirt and gently pulled out of the waistband of her pants. He then reached behind her and gently removed her bra. What he saw there amazed him. She was perfect. Her skin was the perfect combination of peaches and cream and her breasts, though small were perfectly shaped. She was like the woman of his dreams. The woman he had secretly wished for since the time he hit puberty. “Lisa, you are beautiful…” he whispered.

“Thank you…” she whispered shyly. She brought her hands to the belt of his pants and began to unbuckle them. As she did, she rubbed against his erection and was pleased by the effect it had on him. Opening the pants she reached inside and placed her hand firmly on him. She didn’t go any further, suddenly unsure. She knew that Greg wasn’t too keen on oral sex and she didn’t want to do anything that Danny didn’t like. Sensing this, Danny reached down and placed his hand on top of hers, silently willing her to continue. Taking his cue she took her hand away and pulled his pants down the rest of the way. She then got down on her knees, took his underwear down and began to lick him.

“Oh…” Danny moaned as he felt Lisa take him in her mouth. He was already hard, but her mouth and tongue on him was making him harder. It had been awhile for him since he had slept with anyone, but it had been even longer since anyone had gone down on him. Oral sex wasn’t something he did often, and he promised himself he wouldn’t do it again unless it was with the right woman. Somehow he knew that Lisa was the right woman. And he knew that it wasn’t the alcohol talking. He was in love with her and he had to be with her.

Lisa kept putting pressure on him, trying to push him over the edge into orgasm. After minutes of licking and sucking she heard Danny suck in his breath as he felt his orgasm build. After a few more seconds, Danny began his orgasm. He moaned loudly as he came. Lisa held on to him while he came and licked him clean when he was done.

“Come here,” Danny said as he gently lifted her to her feet. “That was incredible, thank you.” He said. “Now, if I may try to return the favor,” he smiled. Leaning down to kiss her again, he picked her up and brought her to the bed where he gently laid her down on her back. Danny moved so that he was on top of her and began kissing his way down her body to the top of her pants. He bent his head down and unbuttoned her pants with his teeth. He then moved his hands to her zipper and unzipped them, moving them gently down her hips and then removing them completely.

He looked at her, as she lay before him, completely naked save her underwear. She was absolutely exquisite. He moved back his way back up to her lips and kissed them once, softly. Then he began kissing his way back down her body, paying extra attention to her breasts. He played with her nipples, making them harden and stand erect.

“Ohhhhh…” Lisa moaned at the feeling of his tongue on her nipples. After a few minutes he kissed his way down her body to the top of her underwear. The animal instinct he had was to rip them off her body and take her right away, but he didn’t want to do that. He wanted to take his time. He wanted her to remember this experience.

He gently removed her panties and spread her legs apart. Sliding his body down, he put his head between her legs and began to lap at her. Lisa squirmed and moaned. As she did, Danny put a finger inside her and began exploring. Lisa moaned loudly, her body begging for more. Sensing that she was starting to come close, Danny removed his finger and replaced it with his tongue, darting in and out of her until she screamed. Then, with out warning she gave in to a violent orgasm that left her shaking. “Oh…my….” She said, breathing heavily. Danny smiled at her.

“I hope you’re not too tired out,” he said. “Because I have plenty more where that came from.”

“Me? Tired? Nah.” Lisa said with a smile. “I’m just worried about you,” she said.

“Oh, don’t you worry about me lil’lady”, he said in a put on southern drawl. “I reckon I’ll be just fine.” Lisa laughed. She couldn’t help admire his body. He definitely was sexy. How could she have not noticed before? She took a deep breath as Danny moved his way back up her body and kissed her. “I….” He paused. He had been about to tell her that he loved her, but he stopped himself. Now wasn’t the time. Instead, he just positioned himself to enter her and did. He forced himself to go slowly, to relish every moment. But the sound of Lisa’s moaning was driving him quickly to his breaking point.

“Oh…Danny,” she said trying to catch her breath. This experience had been incredible so far. Something like she had never felt before. There was a sinking feeling in her stomach, hidden behind all the pleasure, but she was determined to not let it out. Tonight was about her and Danny.

Danny didn’t respond he just pushed in faster and harder. He bent his head and kissed her hard on the lips, then let his tongue gain entry to her mouth. He was kissing her deeply when he felt his second explosion coming on. “Lisa, I’m almost there. I want to come with you….”

Lisa tried to respond but couldn’t. After another second, she began her climax, struggling to breathe between her moans. Danny had begun to kiss her breasts again as he began his climax. In the end, they had exploded together, finally combined as one. Danny rolled over and looked at her with a smile. “That” he said, “was quite an experience.”

~~

Lisa sat up in the dark and looked around her. Her head was pounding something fierce and she couldn’t remember where she was. Looking over, she was Danny sleeping peacefully beside her with a smile on his face. ~Oh my God, what have I done?~ she thought to herself. Looking at the alarm clock on the nightstand she saw it was 6:00 a.m. ~I have to get out of here~ she thought in a panic. Sliding out of bed as quietly as she could, she gathered her clothes and went into the bathroom to dress.

“Lisa!” Danny’s voiced called out to her just as she reached his front door. Lisa jumped at the sound. “Where are you going?” he asked.

“I’m going back to my apartment.” She said not turning around.

“With out so much as a good bye to me?” He paused. “Lisa, look at me.” Lisa turned around and looked at Danny who was wearing nothing more then a bed sheet. She didn’t want to look at him like this; she didn’t want to remember. It was just too much for her.

“I’m sorry, Danny” she said. “I just…last night was…”

“No.” He said, interrupting her. “Don’t say what you’re going to say. Don’t you tell me that last night was a mistake or a dream or – or- an alcohol induced fantasy.” He paused, his voice shaky. “Last night meant something to me and I know it meant something to you, too.” Lisa shook her head.

“I have to tell Greg what happened.”

“Why?” Danny asked. “Why tell him? It happened, it’s done, its over.” She shook her head. It wasn’t over, as much as she wanted it to be it wasn’t over.

“It’s not over, Danny.”

“Why Lisa? You and Greg are in enough trouble already, why hurt him?”

“Because. I have to tell him,” she said, firmly. Danny just stared at her, he knew that there was something deeper going on, but he was in no way prepared for what she was going to say next.

“Tell me why.” Lisa froze for a second; he wasn’t going to let the issue go as much as she wanted him to. ~Damn it!~ she said to herself. “Lisa, telling Greg if futile, why would you want to do that?”

“Because, I’m falling in love with you, damn it and I don’t know what to do about it!” Danny opened his mouth to say something but quickly closed it again. He was stunned. Hearing those words were something that he had dreamed about…so why didn’t that make him feel better? He reached out to touch her, but she pulled away from him and ran out the door. He wanted to follow her, but realized that the odds of him catching her in a bed sheet were pretty slim. Instead he just stared at the empty stairwell in front of him and sighed. Things were about to get ugly.

Lisa was laying on her bed, staring at the ceiling. It was nearly 8:00 now and she had been trying to back to sleep since she had gotten back from Danny’s. She couldn’t. All she could do was think about what she had done and what she was going to tell Greg.

What bothered her the most about all this, was that although she felt guilty, she didn’t think she felt guilty enough. Last night served a purpose. It told her that she had to take a step back and re-think her life and her priorities. Her last words to Danny had reverberated in her head, over and over again. They had just slipped out. She hadn’t meant to say them. As she thought about it, she realized that it was true. She was falling in love with Danny. But that wasn’t even the question. The real question was whether or not she was falling out of love with Greg. And frankly, she wasn’t sure. She was just about to give up and take a shower when she heard the doorbell ring. “Who can that be?” she murmured to herself as she stood up and headed for the door.

When she opened it, she felt like she was going to pass out. It was Greg.

“Lisa, I know its early but I have to talk to you,” he said as he stepped inside her apartment, not realizing that she was still dressed in the same clothes she had worn the previous day.

“I, uh, I need to talk to you, too Greg and I think I should go first” she said. Greg looked at her and was about to nod when he realized what she was wearing.

“How come you’re still in your clothes from yesterday?” He asked.

“I did something awful,” she said, her heart pounding. She wasn’t about to let herself cry. She knew what she had done and she had no excuses for it. She had to accept whatever Greg threw her way now.

“What did you do? I’m sure it couldn’t have been that bad” he said. Lisa shook her head.

“Last night, after you walked out on me, I was sitting in the locker room crying.” Greg nodded, waiting for her to go on. After taking a deep breath to steady her voice, she continued. “Well, a few minutes later Danny came in and found me.” Greg’s face went white. He had an eerie feeling that he knew where this was going. But he remained silent and let her continue. “He offered to drive me home, because he didn’t want me behind the wheel…”

“And you accepted….” Greg filled in. Lisa nodded.

“Yes. We went to a little bar, he was hungry and wanted to eat. He also forced me to eat a little bit.” She felt a sob rising up in her throat but she pushed it back and continued. “Anyhow, we got a little drunk and…uhm…” she stopped, the tears caught in her throat and she was determined not to cry.

“Was it here?” He asked, knowing full well what had happened.

“No. We went back to his place. I was just going to stay there until Danny was sober enough to drive me home. The bar was only three blocks away from his apartment.” Greg shook his head. A bar three blocks away from his apartment? He couldn’t believe Lisa had been so naieve. “If I had thought anything was going to happen, I never would have gone with him. I swear.” She paused again, she could sense the hurt and anger building up in him. “I slept with him,” she whispered.

For a long moment, Greg didn’t answer. He was absorbing the shock of what he had just heard. Finally he began to speak, the hurt and betrayal in his voice overwhelmingly apparent. “I can’t believe what I’m hearing.”

“I’m sorry, Greg. I’m so sorry.” It was all she could say. Greg just shook his head and headed for the door.

“Lisa, I came here this morning because I wanted to apologize to you for blowing up at you last night for no reason. I was sure that Andy had his facts wrong. But I guess he was right.”

“Greg…no…”

“No?” He looked at her in disbelief. “Are you going to stand there and tell me that you have no feelings for this man? Is casual sex a hobby of yours that I just don’t know about?!” He stormed.

“No! No! It was a mistake. That’s all. A mistake.”

“I don’t buy it, Lisa. I know you too well. You would never sleep with someone, drunk or sober unless there were some deeper feelings there. Don’t treat me like I’m some kind of moron!” Greg was livid…and hurt. He knew that he was on the verge of losing her for good to the younger Sorenson. He knew that it was going to happen eventually, he just was hoping it wouldn’t be so soon.

“Greg…I…”

“Lisa, I don’t want to hear anything you have to say. You can’t tell me that you have no feelings for Danny Sorenson.” His words caught on his name. How he hated that kid. And at this precise moment, he hated Lisa, too. “I have to go.” He said as he turned to the door.

“Are you leaving me?” She asked in a small voice. Greg shrugged.

“I don’t know. I have a lot to think about over this weekend,” he said. He felt a lump forming in his throat and he had to get out of her apartment before he started crying. He wasn’t going to give her the satisfaction.

“Greg, please don’t…I love you.” She said. Greg didn’t respond. He just walked out the door and closed it silently behind him. After the door closed, and she knew he wasn’t coming back, Lisa went into her bedroom and cried herself to sleep. She was crying over Greg again, the second time in two days.

Writers Note:

Okay, no one get mad at me for ending this story here. I’m making this into a little series. This story was just to introduce the basic plot. Obviously we have a triangle between Greg, Lisa & Danny. I’m going to write at least four more parts. The next three will be from the point of view of Greg, Lisa and Danny. I will pick up from basically the same spot for each character. The last part will wrap up this story and decide who Lisa actually ends up with. If anyone has any feedback please feel free to email me Kimberly.J.Larkin@Pace.edu
