Hercules and the Apollo Mission

A Review by Juan F. Lara

I usually don't like characters like Adonis ( such as Kent Powers ). Icarus and Cassandra appeared too briefly to say anything about them right now. Also of note was Keith "Goliath" David having a prominent role here as Adonis. He should've had a more active role in the plot, like maybe helping Herc get the sun back during the second half. The premise came from the myth about Helios and what happened when his son drove his chariot. And Icarus and Cassandra, of course, are famous mythological figures. The looting scene had a funny reference to Botticelli's Venus painting and Micelagelo's David. And others have spotted Flounder. :-) Others have also noted that unlike the film, Hades already knew that Herc was still alive when he was a teen. Hopefully a pilot will explain this. ( If this show follows 101D's course, the pilot won't appear until 9/12. )

Cassandra: There are several stores that haven't been looted over there.

Icarus: I'm doing my duty as an intern by completing my assignment and protecting my temporary workspace. Plus, I GET TO TOUCH ALL THE FRILLY THINGS!
Hercules: That's what I should've done....
Icarus: Touch frilly things?

Panic: Hercules! Curse you and your infernal disguises.

So in this series I hope to see many plots other than Hades's takeover bids, and more emphasis on comedy. But "Hercules and the Apollo Mission" was O.K. enough to keep me smiling throughout its run.

Cassandra: Beware. Aisle 5. The dark spector of death awaits you in the Huskie Boys' department.
