A recent transfer student, Pholus, the Centaur is the son of the Woodgod Silenos and the Meliad (Ashtree Nymph) Nais, and a bit of a country bumpkin. Because he's one of the only semi-humans on campus, and a centaur in particular, he is a social outcast and treated accordingly by the other students. Mostly he is a loner and a bit of a geek. Save for the occassional sneer or scoff everyone usually leaves him alone (with the notable exception of Adonis who calls him "Pony-boy" and even meaner things). Helen thinks he's a "filthy beast" and should not have been allowed on campus. On his first day of school he was attacked by Tempest who, as an Amazon, was raised to believe Centaurs are their natural enemies. The scuffle was quelled by Hercules' timely intervention, and since then Pholus has regarded Hercules as a very good friend. Because of his equine features, Pholus has an unfair advantage and has been barred from many typical sports, but he has excelled in the rest such as archery and javelin toss. Pholus likes to spend much of his time in the Library. Recently a pretty nymph smiled at him and said, "hi" and he has since had a crush on her. Though they share Home Greconomics class, he has been too shy to even ask her name. Because he was raised among the common centaurs, Pholus is generally unaware of his regal (Magnete) heritage. He also doesn't know that his personal hero, Chiron, recommended his enrollment to the Prometheus Academy.
