"It's official - I like MSN better than Yahoo chat. MUCH nicer program. Anywho, here's the transcript. Aaadrian seemed a lot more relaxed and was very funny!
"'k, I'm off for a ciggie now...."
I love that girl.
DishDiva: Tonight we welcome Adrian Paul, star of "Highlander: Endgame."
DishDiva: Adrian, welcome to MSN Live! It's an honour to welcome you tonight!
DishDiva: Adrian, we have thousands of questions of you, so let's started!
DishDiva: "Highlander: Endgame" premieres September 1 at a theatre near you.
DishDiva: One moment please and Adrian will be back onstage.
Adrian_Paul_Live: Hi everybody! I'm glad you spend the time sitting here so we could have a little chat. "Highlander: Endgame" Will be coming out there in a few days and I think you'll enjoy it.
DishDiva: Welcome back, Adrian!
Adrian_Paul_Live: Sorry, I had a little technical problem there.
DishDiva: HunterJason Asks: How was it working with Christopher Lambert again?
Adrian_Paul_Live: We had a great time!
Adrian_Paul_Live: I'm sure the relationship we have off screen is going to translate onto the characters we have onscreen.
DishDiva: sunshineyess Asks: Hi Adrian . . . Do you feel that this will be the last Highlander movie in the series?
Adrian_Paul_Live: OOOooo, who knows!! That depends on how well the movie does, and how many of you guys go and watch it.
DishDiva: AndrewTheCelt Asks: What is Mr. Paul's favorite episode of "highlander"?
Adrian_Paul_Live: I have a couple for different reasons. I liked "Samari" because it told of his backstory.
Adrian_Paul_Live: There's so many of them, I can't remember all their names. I liked them because of the stories behind them. I like "Samurai" and "Band of Brothers."
DishDiva: FutureSeer Asks: Have you recovered from the injuries sustained from the series?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Oh yeah, they healed up nicely thank you! Now I'm just recovering from the ones I had on the film.
DishDiva: Fran says: Good Afternoon, I have a question for Mr. Paul. How did he come to choose Duncan MacLeod? My family belongs to Clan MacLeod and I have much to learn. Thank you
Adrian_Paul_Live: I think the name Duncan was a choice in the very first episode the series because Connor was obviously taken. I don't know why we came up with Duncan, it means (I believe) Dark Warrier. I think it was one of 3 that were going to be chosen, but I think it was a good choice.
DishDiva: Tazzette syas: How active are you with workouts during filming?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Very! I strain a lot prior to filming because I knew, especially in this last film, that it would be grueling. During the film, I just try and stay loose to be able to do a film of this nature.
DishDiva: suzeemcg Asks: Do you have a favorite scene from the movie that you can tell us a little about?
Adrian_Paul_Live: I have a couple, two actually. One because it was a lot of fun, the Highway Man scene. The other was the Rooftop scene between Connor and Ducan because I think this tells the most about the relationship of these 2 men.
DishDiva: AtlantaDoug says: Thank you for coming to the MSN chat Mr. Paul, question: Will you make any appearances in the new Highlander: Raven spin off series?
Adrian_Paul_Live: That's been cancelled, so I doubt it.
DishDiva: Berard001 says: adrian paul, do you use the same sword you used in the series, i bought a replica and would hate to be outdated. thank you
Adrian_Paul_Live: Yes, I used exactly the same sword I do in the series. Although in the poster for the film, they used the merchanisable one, although I didn't aprove. I would never change my sword. Once a MacLeod, always a MacLeod
DishDiva: Highlander397 says: Is the rumor of Conner loosing his head to Duncan true? And how was working with "Edge" from the WWF?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Now if I told you the answer to that... I'd be giving away the storyline of the film. No, of course not, Yes, he does. Now you choose which one.
Adrian_Paul_Live: He was a lot of fun, a little nervous working with swords but I eleviated that when I cut his head off.
DishDiva: AmandaRaven1 Asks: Adrian: What choreography do you find harder to due with your co-stars: fight scenes, loves or dance scenes?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Well love scenes don't require to much cooreography, it's just kiss and go ahead. The fight scenes are intrecate and hard to do. There's so many moves and if you mis-time one of them, you might lose one of your fingers. Dancing is always fun, so that one would be the second of my choices.
DishDiva: Novak_X says: Mr Paul, in the series, the character Duncan appeared to know many types of martial arts, what forms are you trained in to portray the character?
Adrian_Paul_Live: I trained in Hung Gar Kung Fu and I've studied Martial Arts for about 12 years, but that's my basis.
DishDiva: SeattleAmidala Asks: Adrian Paul, at one time I heard that you raised Rottweilers. Is that still true? I adopted a 2 year old female from the Humane Society this year and have become one of this breeds biggest fans!
Adrian_Paul_Live: It's a great breed and unfortunately I don't have any Rotties, but who knows in the future.
DishDiva: delysa1 Asks: Adrian, hello! I was wondering how your PEACE foundation is going?
Adrian_Paul_Live: When you start a project such as this, it's always a struggle at the beginning. We're looking now to increase the programs we have by increasing the sponsorship. So if you know of someone who wants to drop a couple of bucks this way, let me know.
DishDiva: Adrian, is there a website for the foundation?
Adrian_Paul_Live: You can get it through my website under Charity at http://www.celebrityboulevard.com
DishDiva: ksnash Asks: Who has more cuts from sword fighting for the movie? You or Christopher?
DishDiva: Andre173 Asks: What other movie or television projects are you working on?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Me! (laugh) We didn't count them, but I bled more! (laugh!!)
DishDiva: Leigh745 Asks: Adrian, were you the mysterious stranger in the Sar wars Episode II photo in Si-Fi (?) Magizine?
Adrian_Paul_Live: No. I liked being mysterious from time to time, but not then.
DishDiva: brut454 Asks: How is the Hi def project going . Will you be doing Sci Fi ?
Adrian_Paul_Live: The Hi Def is still under nogotiations right now and we're still working on the script. I'll be able to let you know more in a few weeks. Check my website for details.
DishDiva: shawnB says: Can you compare Tessa to Lisa?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Ohhooo, funny you should ask.. because your question kind of makes it nonsensical because you are asking about Tessa who is a character and Lisa who is a person. I think Kate and Tessa, and Tessa was the love of Duncan's life for a long time and the relationship with Kate was never allowed to form and when you see the movie, you'll see why.
DishDiva: syhoff Asks: Sept 1 is the big day, will you go to the movies?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Yes, in some darkened theater somewhere because I haven't seen the film yet and I guess part of me is very curious to see if Duncan MacLeod will make it on the big screen.
DishDiva: katbaloo2 Asks: I read you are maybe going do a movie about cassanova, is this true?
Adrian_Paul_Live: It's very possible. We're working on a script right now that we're trying to develop. I would really love to do it, but it would depend if someone is interested in making it.
DishDiva: Clwtr_f_39 Asks: Do you study any forms of meditation? It often goes hand-in-hand with martial arts.
Adrian_Paul_Live: I do meditate, but no specific form. I studied QuiGung which is an informal type of Chi.
Adrian_Paul_Live: And I believe that meditation is a form of prayer and self awareness. So I think the meditation for me is a freeform way of exploring my spirit.
DishDiva: QueenLochlyn says: Just how many languages do you speak now, Adrian? Last I heard, you were wanting to add Spanish to your repretoir.
Adrian_Paul_Live: Yes, I like Spanish. I don't have it down yet, but I'm working on it. And the answer is, including Spanish, Four.
Adrian_Paul_Live: Italian, French, English, and I'm trying to work Spanish out.
DishDiva: curvyblonde1 says: What was your first acting job?
Adrian_Paul_Live: OOOooo, that was so long ago! (laugh) My first gig was when I was in school 10 years old, and I played HMS Pinafore in a school play.
DishDiva: AmusingIndiana Asks: In the new movie do you get to show off any of your racing skills, ie.. so you do any of your own stunts?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Yeah, I run a lot. (laugh!) I do some of my own stunts but not some of the ones that include flying through the air.
DishDiva: PalladiumMuse Asks: Were you ever tempted to try and get in the director's seat for this movie?
Adrian_Paul_Live: No, because it was to big of a movie to lose concentration between the sword fights and the relationship between Connor and Duncan and I didn't want to do that. But who knows in the future.
DishDiva: Pankration0 Asks: What do you feel is the attraction behind the whole Highlander concept?
Adrian_Paul_Live: I think there are 2 answers to that. One is that Highlander has so many different facets and interests and people from different walks of life. Highlander the series has flashback, history, and deals with the relationship with people. The reason why Duncan was so popular was because he was the original Rennaissance man. They can speak may languages
Adrian_Paul_Live: and love deeply and have a sense of knowledge that only few of us can dream of attaining.
DishDiva: sragirl Asks: Since most of your acting is centered around action/fantasy, have you ever wanted to pursue acting in a comedy??
Adrian_Paul_Live: Yes. I think comedy would be great to do and Duncan was relatively commedic. I think people see the whole and don't see the specifics and would be something I would love to do for one of my upcoming projects.
DishDiva: adrianrocks says: What's the bravest thing you've ever done?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Get married. (laugh)
DishDiva: angel Asks: Does Connor die in this movie?
Adrian_Paul_Live: I'm really going to tell you that aren't I??!! (LAUGH!!!)
DishDiva: You know we had to ask.
DishDiva: AtrlantaDoug says: Earlier there was talk about love scenes. Tracy Scoggins (Cassandra) mentioned that in your love scene, the director almost forgot to say "cut"; She had said something about saying cut herself...and paying you a very nice compliment. ..tis true?
Adrian_Paul_Live: (laugh!) No comment!!
Adrian_Paul_Live: I plead the 5th!
DishDiva: Songman724 Asks: What is your currently your biggest dream or ambition, personally or professionally?
Adrian_Paul_Live: To be successful in what I set my mind to do and to make the Peace Fund a worldwide entity.
DishDiva: Learn more about Adrian at his site at http://www.celebrityboulevard.com
DishDiva: Claydo2 Asks: And do you still have the ponytail?
Adrian_Paul_Live: No! No, that left me 5 years ago and that ponytail when to charity actually.
DishDiva: anniehall Asks: Just finished reading "AN evening at Joe's" which is a collection of stories by some of the cast and crew of Highlander"The Series. Would you consider contributing to one, if another one is published?
Adrian_Paul_Live: No.
Adrian_Paul_Live: Snarf, snarf!
DishDiva: Adrian your laugh is hysterical. You absoluetly need to be in a comedy! (laughs)
Adrian_Paul_Live: I agree! I'm actually working on one right now.
DishDiva: NoraJones Asks: Adrian - What is the most difficult thing you've ever done?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Get married! (laugh!!!)
DishDiva: I'm sensing a theme here. . .
Adrian_Paul_Live: (laugh!) Actually getting married and getting divorced are the two really.
DishDiva: WickedStorm1 Asks: Have you ever in real life wanted to be more like Duncan?
Adrian_Paul_Live: What do you mean?! I am Duncan!! (laugh) Where does reality stop and fantisy begin? Who knows. Actually Duncan has some qualities that I would like to have and some that I wouldn't.
DishDiva: WildGarthGroupie Asks: Do you enjoy wearing a kilt?
Adrian_Paul_Live: It's a little breezy.
Adrian_Paul_Live: But it can be fun! It has it's advantages! (laugh!)
DishDiva: Ok then. . .
DishDiva: Irish Asks: and does he have any family ties to Scots or the Irish?
Adrian_Paul_Live: I have my grandfather on my father's side that was part Irish. So there's a little Celt in me somewhere.
DishDiva: fastfelix27 Asks: Adrian, if you had the chance, would you choose immortality?
Adrian_Paul_Live: No. I wouldn't choose immortality. I might choose to live a little longer, but I'm not sure I would choose immortality. It's a hard life. It also depends on whether we are talking about normal immortality or Highlander immortality. Highlander immortality ends grosume and that's not something to look forward to. I think that we're supposed to be
Adrian_Paul_Live: here for a certain time and then move on, so immortality would be kind of cheating.
DishDiva: APpup Asks: Many fans would be here tonight but are already traveling to Endgame parties all over the country. Is there anything you would like to say to all those fans as they excitedly prepare to see this great event?
Adrian_Paul_Live: Yeah, keep going to watch it so that the box offices will keep playing through the Labor Day Weekend.
DishDiva: GinaGV Asks: Adrian, in all of the conventions and interviews you have been to, is there any question you have never been asked, but you really wish someone would?
Adrian_Paul_Live: No, I think everyone has been very thorough checking out my life. I'm sure someone will come up with a question at one point that will be a suprise for me, and time to time I do get them. I think I've covered quite a few topics so far and can't think of anything that's left at the moment.
DishDiva: Adrian, it has been great to meet you! Thanks for being our guest this evening!
Adrian_Paul_Live: I'm really surprised at how many people have logged on from different countries around the world, England, Australia, Nova Scotia, and of course America and one of my favorites Brazil. I hope you aren't disappointed in Highlander: Endgame, but I have a feeling you won't be. And until next time... There can be only one... be sure to go to the movies
Adrian_Paul_Live: and see who it is!
DishDiva: Best of luck with "Highlander: Endgame" which opens on September 1.
DishDiva: Thank you to our guest Adrian Paul, who stars in thew new "Highlander:Endgame" film opening Sept. 1.
