Committed to outstanding family outdoor recreation
Nestled between the Hudson River, Vanderwhacker Mountain Wild Forest & The Hoffman Notch Wilderness is the Township of Minerva and the hamlet of Olmstedville. Minerva offers the nicest in family oriented recreation: from the 100-acre Minerva Lake/Donnelly Beach to Day Trip Trails along the Hudson River, and to Huntley & Stoney Ponds. During the summer months, enjoy the Minerva Campground and Recreation Park or visit us in the winter and take advantage of the x-country trails, Warming Hut and Ice rink. The Minerva Historical Society & Museum, Olmstedville, is rich in the community's nearly 200 year history, and is open to the public from July until October. For more information and to receive a copy of our visitors guide, call the Town Hall (518) 251-2869.
In the summer come and enjoy Minerva Lake & Campgrounds. Donnelly Beach offers great swimming, picnic areas and snack stand. Or make use of the boat launch and take a nice ride on Minerva Lake. Also available are the tennis and basketball courts located next to the pavillion.
If it's history that you crave, visit the Minerva Historical Society and Musuem. Take a step back into town in 1817 and relive life in the Adirondacks. Yes Teddy Roosevelt stayed here! And we celebrate is inauguration to the Presidency with a wonderful weekend of celebrations. See our events calendar for detailed happenings in and around Minerva. Don't forget Minerva Day, SATURDAY, JULY 1, for a wonderful funfilled day of Parades and entertainment ending with a spectacular Fire Works display at Minerva Lake.
