McMug and McDull are famous comic characters originated in Hong Kong in the early 1990s. Their creators, Brian Lap-man Tse and Alice Ka-bik Mak are both Hong Kong people. McMug and MuDull stories have a strong connection with the events happening in Hong Kong. Therefore, it may be an alley to understand Hong Kong. On the other hand, you may have to know Cantonese well in order to get the essence of some of McMug & McDull stories. For your information, McMug may seem to be dumb already, but, as one of the Mcmug "maxims" says, "Yut Chu Wan Yau Yut Chu Dou" (i.e., there is always a dumber pig -- McDull).
