Beth Gibbons does not give interviews she wants people to know her through her music. In Addition Beth is playing more guitar these days. She is actually a fun person. Her lyrics feel, they fit the music that the other members play. In the film, "To Kill a Dead Man" Beth plays Adrian's female acquaintance.
Geoff Barrow: sampler
Geoff is the bandleader of Portished. Basically Geoff spins pre-recorded samples on his turntables. When on tour Geoff uses specially made 12" records that contain the samples he wants. Portishead is the name of the town that Geoff grew up in with his mother, he nows lives fifteen miles away in Bristol. Geoff's first real job was as a tape operator at Coach House Studios where Portishead records. Over time Geoff recorded demos for Neneh Cherry's Homebrew album, and he remixed singles for Depeche Mode, and Primal Scream.
Geoff is a man of deep convictions, and honest but complex feelings. He is harsh and uncompromising about his own performance; driven by an inner fire that demands perfection to quench its fires. He is happiest locked in a small sound studio mixing up his strange arual cocktails.
