Gabriel Byrne was born in Dublin, Ireland May 12, 1950. Before becoming an actor, he held a variety of jobs, including archaeologist, teacher, cook and bullfighter. He is also a producer. Gabriel executive-produced 1993's "In the Name of the Father", which received 5 Oscar nominations. He also wrote an autobiography, "Pictures in My Head". He was married to actress Ellen Barkin in 1988. They separated in 1993 and divorced in 1999. They had 2 children, a son (Jack) and daughter (Romy). Gabriel has been in many movies, including "The Usual Suspects", "Millers Crossing", "Man In the Iron Mask", and more recently "Enemy of the State", "Stigmata", and "End of Days". |
