GENRE: Murder mystery / ITV series
DIRECTOR: Marc Evans
WRITER: Trevor Preston, based on Ruth Rendell's murder mystery
PRODUCER: Graham Benson, Niel Ziegler

PRINCIPAL CAST: Colin Firth [Stephen Whalby], Robert Urquhart [Dadda Whalby], George Costigan [Inspector Manciple], Emma Croft [Lyn Walby] et al

ABOUT THE FILM: Stephen's mother left him and his father when Stephen was just a young boy. Since then he's roamed his childhood moors in Dartmoor, making observations and reporting them to the local newspaper. Suddenly a series of murders occure on the moor. All victimes are young women with long, blond hair. Stephen quickly becomes the prime suspect...

MY RATING:**** It's an excellent phsycological mystery where Colin and the other principal actors are exploring the equally uncertain terrain inhabited by good people who can be driven to dark deeds.
