Attila
Review:
Tim stars as "Theodosius," the Emporor of the Eastern Roman Empire, in the USA Network
original mini-series ATTILA.
Blurb by USA:
The most feared man ever to exist, Attila was King of the Huns in the fifth century, and during his reign he united the various tribes of barbarians to wreak havoc against the Roman Empire. More than a warrior, Attila was a man with human frailities and conflicts.
USA Network brings the captivating story of Attila to life with a four hour epic mini-series that examines the facts and legends that surround Attila. Highlighting Attila's triumphs over rival barbarian tribes, his defeat by the Romans, and loves found and lost, Attila's story is the story of the fate of the Western World. Starring Powers Boothe, Tim Curry and Scottish newcomer Gerard Butler as Attila, be sure and catch all four hours of Attila - only on USA.
A bit of an amusing fan review from the IMDB:
What's wrong with this little movie? Let's start with the Huns and their king, Attila. The Huns were a Turko-Mongol race, short, swarthy, and usually with a somewhat bowlegged stance that came from fighting, riding, eating, and even sleeping on horseback. Attila himself was described by many contemporary historical sources as short, squat, a very thin wisp of a beard on his chin, and a flat nose. He was also middle-aged at the time of his great conquests. This army and king as represented in the movie are all basically Caucasians. People, there ARE Turkish/Asiatic actors and extras out there for hire ....
My review:
BLAH! Tim got a few nice closeups of his double chins.
Filmed in the Lithuanian countryside.
