Inspired by the popular board game, the movie is a pleasant
spoof of whodunits. The delightful ensemble establishes a suitably
breezy style. Silliness eventually overwhelms the proceedings. As
a gimmick, the film was originally shown in theatres with three
different endings. All versions are included on the videocassette.
On many college campuses this movie is almost as big a cult
favorite as that other cult movie Mr. Curry made. Fans gleefully
point out similarities in the two films, such as the castle, and the man
and woman having car trouble and arriving in the rain. Also, Mr.
Curry's character answering the door bell by yelling "coming!"
brings the house down. He's gorgeous, he's on screen for almost
every scene of the movie, what more can a fan ask? A funny, fun
movie. 1985
