Congo

[Tim Curry]

Review:

(Laser News Oct '95) Based on Michael Crichton's best-selling novel,
this action-adventure tells of an eight-person field expedition into the Congo,
a mysterious expanse of unexplored Africa, where human greed and the laws
of nature have gone berserk.

My Review:

This shoulda been a whole lot better than it was. The timing of the story was
off somehow; Amy the signing gorilla is yesterday's news. With all the high-tech
neat stuff like the communication gear, the nifty monkeys, the great scenery, the
beautiful Tim-a bit pudgy, but cute; it just should have been better. (Quick physics
note: flares fired from airplanes don't DO that.)

Rating: PG13

Run Time: 109min

Trivia for the truly obsessed: watch Mr Curry's belt-line.
It's possible to tell which scenes were filmed first, and which
after some strenous exercise in the jungle.
