It's time to discover a world drenched in imagination, ruled by invention and strung together by a series of unfortunate events in the Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events video game from Activision, Inc. Based on the best-selling book series and the highly anticipated feature filmlaunching in theaters on December 17 from Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, the game allows players to experience the lives of the three Baudelaire orphans through 16 adventure filled missions where they solve puzzles, build ingenious inventions and outsmart the evil Count Olaf and his troupe of creepy cohorts. 3DO is collaborating with world-famous fantasy and comic book artist Simon Bisley to develop Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse for the PC. A horror-filled adventure based on the Biblical tale of Armageddon - Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse combines the work of celebrated artists Simon Bisley and Dave DeVries with the voice talents of Tim Curry (Charlie's Angels and The Three Musketeers) and cult film star Traci Lords (Melrose Place and Profiler). TC and Traci Lords--what a kick!
Tim plays a God (well, the voice-over of one, named Stratos) in this strange looking adventure game
Here is a brief description from PC.IGN:
So what's the point of the game? Well to prove that you're the baddest wizard in the world. Well, there's more to it in the single player. The story
behind the game goes a little like this: You play the role of a wizard that has traveled across space and time to escape the destruction that has
destroyed your home world. You land in the astral realm of the island world that Sacrifice takes place in and find a world that has been split
asunder by the follies of man. The world is made up of many islands floating in a sea of nothingness. Each of these islands is owned by one of the
five gods, Persephone goddess of life and justice, Charnel god of strife and slaughter, James god of earth, Stratos god of air and the heavens, and
Pyro god of fire and destruction.
with Tim Curry reprising his role as Gabe! This time he's hunting vampires! (He wasn't in GK II)
(People mag 6/26/95) Rising from the dead can be harrowing. The CD-ROM Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster lets players make the return trip as the beastly creation of Dr. Frankenstein. Tim Curry stars as the demented doctor who resurrects a man wrongly hanged for the murder of his daughter. Players must uncover cleverly hidden clues to help them excape castle Frank- enstein. Browsing through the laboratory's collection of oddities with eerie back- ground music is half the fun. Read a newspaper account of the execution, learn the pseudoscience of monster building and uncover concealed passageways. Dr. Frankenstein's lair has never been so enticing. Amazing Media/Interplay
This is a beautifully designed game. The stones look real. Why you would WANT real stones I don't know. Tim Curry is just awesome in this game, he's really there! He is standing over you while you are "what's on the slab". He peeks out at you at various odd moments and growls and threatens. I've gotten as far as the part where he chains me to a wall and beats me with a whip---gee, I can't seem to get past that part--maybe I'm not trying very hard. I don't like the music, it's very tedious. Well, back to the game, maybe I'll let him shoot me this time, again.
Gabriel Knight is a writer of horror novels and antique bookshop owner who is researching a series of Voodoo murders in modern day New Orleans for his new book. He is a ladies' man and has a definite opinion about everything. He is also well-read, intellectual and insightful. He has a dry wit and a reckless disregard of danger. His assistant, Grace Nakimura, tries to puncture his ego without success. He learns about his ancestors, the Shattenjagers: the Shadow Hunters. (blurb on the box) Sierra 1993
I love this game!!! It's a mystery; you are Gabriel (who has the voice of Tim Curry); you get to go around asking people questions and collecting items to be used later in the game. It takes place in New Orleans. The places mentioned in the game are real places (for the most part). The music is great! I kept going back to Jackson Park just to listen to the bands play. I especially like the music at the beginning of the game. The drawing is very good too. The beginning nightmare scenes are fabulous. I accidentally hit Gabriel with the door opener tool and he growled at me "If I want to open up, I'll go see a psychiatrist". I damn near fell off my chair!
Tim Curry does the voice of a Kilrathi, named Melek. That's all I know about this one.
Has real pics of Tim Curry as Long John Silver. It's a cute fun game. It took me a couple of hours to finish it. It's a pretty game, very little of the dopey shooting of things that most computer games seem to always have.
Tim plays the voice of sinister Count Nefarious (voice only, no live-action from him)
