This show is done by the same guy who did 'Big Deals'
He's still as crazy as ever. Tim's character is hysterical.
In case you've never seen the show, Tea Leoni plays a reporter
on a scandal rag and Holland Taylor steals the show from her
as her totally wigged out boss. Mr. Curry plays the newspapers'
owner, Sir Rudolph, a ruthless, completely self-centered egotist.
Not to be missed: the fencing match in the Xmas episode where
Holland Taylor admires Tim's codpiece, saying "If you stood on
a mountain top sideways, it would blot out the sun!" Yeah, that's
what the dialog is like on this show.----although it WAS a really
nice codpiece. My favorite line is when Tim is describing the
stories on the front page of the scandal sheet, and sez the movie
stars featured there are 'Crazy as a crack-house rat'.
The Valentines' day show was notable for the fabulous tongue trick.
One of the things that make you go 'Hummmm'.
The elevator is funny too. In true Trek style, Mr C. bellows 'OPEN'
or 'CLOSE' and it does!
I once described 'Big Deals' as a show that made me go out in the
yard and howl at the moon. Well, if Mr. Curry were in very many
episodes of this show I would be tempted, however, it has been
canceled, I believe. Too bad, insanity should be encouraged, if
bland boredom is the alternative.
