Tim Curry's deliciously scheming evangelist is merely one
of the delights in this inventive satire of television sermonizing.
Bill Paxton (Apollo 13) and Linda Kozlowski (Crocodile Dundee)
play a couple of good ol' folks who plot to "steal back" some
inheritance money the televangelist bilked from her family.
Tim Curry's southern accent is NOT to be missed. This is a
GOOD movie, it's funny, it has a plot, great characters, and was
very timely; Tammy Faye and Jimmy Baker were in the news just
as this movie came out in 1987. Tim is gorgeous as the slightly
slimy Reverend Ray. Must see: faith healing, monologue about
feeling Satan behind him (DYNAMITE), convincing the male choir
to leave the building, and arguing with Annie Potts.
