Grace Rivera lies in an alley; she was beaten, strangled, and sexually assaulted.  She was close enough to death to warrant a call to homicide; Falsone and Lewis report to the scene.  There they meet Stivers, who represents the sex crimes unit.  Rivera's attack marks the third sexual assault in Federal Hill in three months; because of this and the fact that the victim is still alive, Stivers thinks that the case should be handed to her.  Eventually it is settled that homicide and sex crimes would work the case jointly.  Munch brings in Ivy Kiriakis, Rivera's roommate; she tells the detectives that they were supposed to meet last night but Grace never showed.  Grace Rivera soon becomes conscious and Falsone, Lewis, and Stivers go interview her.  She can't remember what happened to her, but is reluctantly enlightened by Falsone, who is visibly nervous at the idea of interviewing the victim.
Mary Pembleton is overdue for the delivery of the new baby; Bayliss suggests a salad that supposedly "kick-starts pregnant women."  Frank listens and takes Mary out to eat the salad.  Mary informs him that she'll wait 48 hours, then go along with inducing pregnancy.  Frank tells his wife that working homicide is no longer his life; Mary, Olivia, and the new baby are.
It is revealed that Rivera was drunk at the time of the attack; unfortunately, there appears to be no physical evidence at the scene or on Rivera's person.  A canvass of all the bars in Federal Hill turns up nothing.  The case is potentially put down when Stivers gets a call from Philadelphia sex crimes, who says that a Ted Ganz did time for assault and rape in the Pennsylvania state pen.  Ganz' mother lives in Federal Hill.
Frank and Tim are intercepted by an excited Ballard, who tells Pembleton that she got a call: Mary is in labor.  Frank and Tim head over to the hospital, where they learn that a complication has arisen.  The two sit and worry, hoping for the best, when news arrives: Mary and the new son are doing just fine.
The detectives round up Ganz and stick him in the Box, where Falsone tries to beat a confession out of him but gets nothing.  Falsone tells Stivers and Lewis to recanvass the drinking establishments; they do so and find out that Matt Northrup ran a tab for Rivera the night before.  Falsone catches a bite mark on Northrup's arm and asks where it's from; Northrup answers by running.  He is caught by Falsone, who gives him a piece of his mind through his fists.  The bite mark is matched to a dental impression of Grace Rivera's teeth, and it is later confirmed that Rivera was minutes away from death, which all adds up to a more severe sentence for Northrup.  Falsone goes back to City Hospital to tell Rivera, but receives the bad news; Grace died about an hour ago from massive hemorrhaging to the brain.
Kellerman meets with Georgia Rae Mahoney, who tells him that she has a surveillance tape of Kellerman icing Luther.  Mike rushes over to Luther's condo and asks the landlord if there were any cameras in Luther's suite; the answer is yes, they're down in storage right now.  Kellerman takes the cameras from him and goes to an electronics store, where the clerk says that the equipment is fully capable of showing Luther's last moments.  Stepping deeper into it, Kellerman meets with Georgia Rae again at Luther's grave, where she informs him that she hasn't decided what she'll do to avenge her brother's death...yet.
