Katie's Continuation

A sudden hush of shock and silence fell on the congregation like a heavy
blanket, Anya stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes, frantically searching
the church for a sign of Dimitri. But he wasn't there.
Her heart started pumping so fast she thought it would explode.
But then, Vlad burst in through the door.
"Anya! Dimitri's been hurt!" He said.
The congregation suddenly errupted in a wild frenzy of whispers and shouts.
"What?!" Stammered Anya, bearly wanting to believe it.
"He was shot at by a bunch of young hooligans while he was outside."
Answered Vlad,
Anya picked up her skirts and ran outside, followed by Vlad, Sophie and the
other guests. An ambulance had just arrived, and were carefully lifting
Dimitri on a stretcher into the ambulance.
"DIMITRI!" Yelled Anya as she raced towards him.
He rolled his head towards her,
"Anya.." He said in a barely understandable voice.
Anya got into the ambulance and knelt down beside him, tears streaming down
her face.
"Dimitri...oh...Dimitri," Sobbed Anya,
"Its alright, I'm gonna be ok." He said.
Hours later, Anya was told that she could go and see him.
She nervously walked into the hospital wing.
Dimitri was as white as snow, Anya could barely reconise him. She ran over
to his bedside.
He smiled when he saw her and struggled to get up.
"No," Said Anya, "You need your strength."
Dimitri lay back down, he reached out a hand and stroked Anya's hair, his
eyes conveying every thought going through his mind.
Anya gently put her hand over the wound on his chest, and tears came to her
eyes.
"The doctors say you'll be able to come home as soon as you've regained
strength." Said Anya, silent tears dripping down her cheeks.
"Miss, its time to go." Said the head nurse.
Anya sadly stood up, but Dimitri caught her hand. Anya turned around and
looked deeply into Dimitri's eyes. And they shared a long passionate kiss.
"I'll be out of here soon enough." Said Dimtri.
Anya took one last sad look at him and walked slowly out the door.
Vlad, Sophie and Marie were waiting outside.
Vlad smiled a nervous yet questioning smile, Anya's eyes suddenly filled
with tears as she flung her arms around Vlad and cried into his shoulder.
Marie put her hand on her shoulder and lead her back to the car.
Days later, Dimitri was able to come home, he had regained his strength and
was desperatley missing Anya, as Anya was missing him.
As soon as Anya saw him she flung her arms around him and kissed him.
Dimitri whirled her around, much like he did when they first enloped.
Marie looked on and smiled. She knew her granddaughter had chosen well.
"How are you feeling Dimitri dear?" She said.
"Much better your grace." Replied Dimitri.
"There is no need to address me as your grace." Said Marie, "Just Marie."
She said.
A while later, they were in the same church. Anya and Dimitri were getting
married.
Dimitri nervously shuffled his feet, this was the biggest day of his life.
Then the congregation stood as the organ played 'Here comes the the bride.'
What greeted Dimitri next was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen,
Anya looked raidiant. Dimitri blinked. He had never seen her look so
beautiful in his life, not even at the coronation party or at the ballet. He
sighed deeply, what had he done to deserve her?
Princesses didn't marry kitchen boys, but he had been proven wrong.
Dimitri took Anya by the hand as she stepped up to the altar.
The priest said his sermon, And Anya and Dimitri exchanged vows.
Sophie, by now had turned into a blubbering mass of tears and even Marie was
weeping a little.
Pooka barked as the velvet crusion that was carrying the rings on his back
was removed.
"I now prenounce you husband and WIFE!" Said the priest. Immediatly, the
entire church burst into applause.
"You may kiss the bride." The priest said.
Dimitri lifted Anya's veil. He looked into her eyes and put his arms around
her. Then they shared the longest, most passionate kiss they had together.
Finally, they were together, forever.
