Love Field
Video Synopsis
Michelle Pfeiffer, 1992 Academy Award nominee for Best Actress, creates the most affecting portrayal of her career as a sheltered woman who embarks on a remarkable journey of self-discovery during modern America's darkest hour. Dallas housewife Lurene Hallet (Pfeiffer) has developed an intense Jackie Kennedy fixation. When the President is assassinated Lurene vows to travel to Washington to attend his funeral --- for Jackie's sake --- leaving her husband, her home and her loveless life behind. On the way to D.C., she meets a black man and his young daughter (Dennis Haysbert and Stephanie McFadden), and soon their three lives become irrevocably intertwined. Together they set off on an odyssey along the blacktops and backroads of rural America that will change each of them forever. Pursued by her husband, by police and by racist vigilantes, the three desperately search for an escape from their pasts as they travel across a panorama of a country that is itself changing overnight.
"By far her strongest performance yet...a powerful role" (Chuck Henry --- KABC).
