BW JAPAN

Beast Wars certainly is popular in Japan with a new cel-animation cartoon coming out, with toys too! These are some images I scanned in from "BonBon", a Japanese mags for kids! Some of the images are quite big and may therefore take a while to load. While I get more pics, please enjoy these! Note: if you wish to use any of these pictures, please e-mail me first. Thanx!

Note: These pictures were scanned from the BonBon Magazine
October Issue
Ok, big skip from March to October. Anyway, I thought you guys would pretty much want to see things which you haven't seen, since the past few months have been nothing but the US Transmetals, although some of them have gotten certain nice recolors.

Anyway, here's a link to the Japanese exlcusive, RAVAGE! It's an exlcellent remold of TM Cheetor, although the arms are rather revealing underneath the body... and the guns in the hand are pretty cool, not to mention the nice use of black chrome!!

Next is a pic of the TM packaging for Japan! It's a pic of the Optimus Primal box, which has a special holographic card on the front, showing the original Primal, changing into his TM form and then the TM beast mode!! Click HERE!!!

Lastly is a pic from the final instalment of the BW Neo comic! For those who haven't been updated, Unicron has come into the scene, Magmatron has been destroyed, partly by Unicron and partly by Big Convoy. After Unicron has been destroyed, and evil entity or something which looks like black slime, covers Big Convoy. My guess is that in order to prevent the slime from taking over him, he uses the Matrix!!! Also resulting in his death unfortunately... *sigh* All of these Convoys always die at least once, don't they? Click HERE to view the pic!

I'll try to scan more pics in if time permits, so please enjoy the above pics first!!

March Issue
This issue introduces the new BW Neo comic, which continues where BW2 ended. It also has close-ups of the new toys, as they have done for all BW Japan toys so far...

First up is the cover pic, a small battle scene between Big Convoy and Magmatron. Click HERE to see it.

Next up is the close-ups of Long Neck, Guiledart, Corahda (Colada whatever) and Saberback. These also show the third modes. Long Neck turns into some sort of clawed tank, Corahda a battle station, Saberback a...a... flower gun, and Guiledart.... a dead dino. Click HERE to see them.

Here's the close-ups of Stampy, Sling, Break and Deadend. Stampy and Break turn into weapons for Long Neck (a scissor thingy and a cannon), which ends speculation of them being able to do so. Sling turns into some sort of trap, where when the center of the "flower" is depressed, the fin snaps close. Click HERE to see them.

According to this, Big Convoy, Magmatron and Heinlad will be released in April. Click HERE to see an excellent view of Big Convoy and Magmatron, and a close up of Heinlad. Thank goodness Heinlad's robot mode is so much better....

Click HERE to see the first two pages of the new comic. From what i see, Lioconvoy ends up in the Arctic, and finds one of Galvatron's teeth/claw stuck in his knee. He then meets a bunch of creatures chasing wild animals. They attack Lioconvoy, who is saved by a mammoth. From this picture, it shows that the T-rex, Plesiosaur and Pteradactyl are three seperate animals. But later in the comic, Big Convoy (the mammoth ) knocks the three dinos off a cliff. A device below the cliff (presumably a Argonmois capsule) explodes, fusing the three dinos together, explaining why Magma has that weird 3 dinos mode... This makes me wonder whether the individual dinos had their own robot modes... Anyway, back to the pics.

These turn out to be the new Predacons, led by Magmatron.

Lioconvoy uses his Matrix to contact his team (Apache, Big Horn, Diver, Scuba, Tasmania Kid) to search out beast forms. Apache finds a giraffe, Big Horn finds penguins, Diver found raccoons, Scuba found a snake and the Kid finds rabbits. We all know who they are....

At this point, the mammoth transforms, to Lioconvoy's surprise, into Big Convoy!

December Issue
In the final issue for the year, this issue has many interesting pics!

Here's a picture of the Cybertrons including Convoy (Primal) attacking the bad guy of the movie - Majin Z! He turns into a carrier of sorts, as shown at the bottom. It also shows the components of the BW movie due this month! Click HERE to view the picture!

This month's issue has a nice cover, showing the four Cyborg Beasts! Click HERE to view it.

The next pic shows the two Cyborgs, Hellscream ('Evolved' Starscream) and Max B ('Evolved BB. Thought earlier to be Machspeed). Hellscreams gimmicks are almost the same as Cybershark's. Max B's gimmicks are mainly in his shield. It has flip out blades and can shoot the hook too. Click HERE to see them.

Next is apic of the last two Cyborgs, Dirge Gun('Evolved' Dirge) and Thrustor('Evolved' Thrust). Dirge Gun has a cannon on his back which can be flipped in front to shoot a projectile. Thrustor has his spinning tail weapon (like Dinobot's) and has two weapons which double off as projectiles for his tail. Click HERE to view them!

Here's a picture of the BW2 board game! Click HERE!

Here is a colored pic of the figures of the original BW characters, SD style! Click HERE!

Next is a pic of the Black Lioconvoy, and an evil Lioconvoy. He has the Maximal symbol on his chest, but his chest plate opens to reveal his true allegiance! The Rampage thing is some sort of advert or something. Click HERE to see them!

In this issue's comic, Apache scolds the Kid, making him run away. The Kid discovers the new Cyborg beasts and is captured. Apache then arrives and saves the day!

Here is a pic of Gigastorm relaxing, having cups of drink. Click HERE to see him...

Gigastorm hits the four guys (Starscream, BB, Dirge, Thrust) with his tail, causing them to fall into a pit of Angolmois energy, changing them into the Cyborg Beasts!

They capture Tasmania Kid, and inform Apache that if he doesn't save him in a given time, they'll drop him into the pit, changing him into the Cyborg Kid(?)

Apache reaches and a fight ensures. After defeating the three of the Cyborgs, Hellscream makes an attempt - jumping from the water onto land. In beast mode.

Okay, that's all for this month's and year's of BonBon! Hope you had as much fun looking at the pics as i had bringing them to you!
