I.
As light as air - she came.
Stole the wind right from my chest.
And everyone knew, everyone knew.
That as she fanned those starry eyes,
So beat the heart within my chest.
II.
Many a day went by.
I brought her fruits of the ground.
And all that I had, all that I had.
Were flowers and fruit and grains and love.
And the will to hear her voice; that sound
The sound of birds and the wind.
Listened, charmed, my will was gone,
And I flew away, I flew away.
Upon the winds of her soul's music.
Enchanted, devoted, to her song.
III.
I lost my crop to drought.
Harsh winds, locust, all was lost.
And like a tempest, like a tempest,
Her anger hit me. Like a storm.
She was gone. And with such cost.
I gave my soul up.
It was swallowed by the breeze.
And gone with the storm, gone with the storm.
Were my heart and soul and my mind.
Death came and swept me up with ease.
