But If : When Josh and I broke up, I resisted it pretty strongly. I don't offer any excuses for that. I was emotionally bankrupt at the time - but spiritually I could not have profited more.

I'd like to stay and dream of you,
And all that I have lost,
But if I hold my memories,
I let go of the cross.

I'd like to say that I can wait
Til you come back to me,
But if I try to shape my life,
The potter can't work free.

I'd like to keep you in my heart,
But there's no room for two,
To delight myself upon my Lord,
I must let go of you.

But if he brought you back to me,
Oh, how the world would sing!
If we could be together now,
And always, with our King,

And we could both be happy,
Like I dreamt we were before,
The earth would be filled with splendour,
And weeping would be no more.

But pain is the friend he has given,
And sorrow my teacher for now,
Till I can learn to be holy,
Under Love's heavy burden I bow.
