Millie starts out walking down the street in her well covered, near ankle length dress and her long curls.
She notices that everyone around her has their hair bobbed so she gets her hair cut.
Then she sees that everyone has shorter shirts, lowered waist dresses and beads so she goes out and buys some new outfits.
She has a few problems getting her beads to hang straight...
Arriving back at her hotel, Millie meets Miss Dorothy and she takes her up to her room. They have to dance in order to get the lift working.
Later that night, there is a party at the hotel. Millie meets Jimmy and they dance "The Tapioca".
Millie goes "Boss hunting" and she finds Mr Trevor Graydon.
Millie sings at a Jewish wedding.
Millie, Jimmy and Miss Dorothy go for a weekend at Muzzy's estate where she performs her "Jazz Baby".
Millie realises her true feelings for Jimmy but she things she has lost him to Miss Dorothy. She decides to become a bit more ruthless with her image and be more tough.
Miss Dorothy meets Trevor Graydon and it is love at first sight. They go with Millie to a show and Muzzy flies through the air after being shot out of a cannon.
In the attempt to rescue Jimmy and Miss Dorothy from the clutches of Mrs Meers, Millie has her first experience of driving a car.
Of course, everyone comes together in the end...
