Story:

An uncanny Presidential lookalike named Dave Kovic is hired as a monumentary stand-in for America´s Chief Executive, after the real President got a heart attack while staying with his misstress.

However, things don´t turn out as planned and Dave finds himself continuing the masquerade indefinitely and also falling in love with the First Lady.

Birgitte S.C.´s opinion:

Dave is a witty comedy about a nobody who gets the opportunity to run the country for a while, which garantuees a lot of laughter. What I found the funniest element of the movie is the way Bob Alexander, the advisor of the President, is trying to let Dave do things his way, while Dave just does things his way which is most of the time the opposite of what Alexander wants.

Kevin Kline is great in his roles as the "real" President and Dave. Frank Langella is just hilarious as the "mean guy" Bob Alexander and Ben Kingsley has a nice little part as the Vice President. Sigourney Weaver plays well, but her character doesn´t get much funny things to say or do. They could´ve done more with that. But generally Dave is just a nice and very entertaining feel-good movie with the Hollywood happy-end.

- Dave and Ellen Mitchell pretending to be lookalikes of the President and the First Lady when they got pulled over by a cop
