Story:

Beauty, brains and charms. Tess McGill has it all. The only thing she still longs for are the right haircut, the right cloths and the right job. But Tess goes for it and is determined to reach the top in the financial world of Wallstreet.

When her boss Katharina Parker breaks her leg, Tess grabs her chance. She literary steps into her boss´ shoes, using her appartment, office and wardrobe. Soon she gets mixed up in comical situations together with the smart business man Jack Trainer. For Tess this could mean the beginning or the ending of her career...

Birgitte S.C.´s opinion:

Working Girl is really fun to watch, although you shouldn´t expect to laugh your head off for 112 minutes. Although it´s a comedy, there are also many serious moments in the film (more serious than funny if you ask me). But that´s okay. The film is a real "feel good movie" about launching a career at Wallstreet.

All actors are doing a great job and obviously enjoying their roles. Sigourney Weaver - although only having a minor role - is clearly having a lot of fun portraying the mega bitch Katharina Parker. She steals the show with her wonderful performance, which was rewarded by an Oscar nomination.

The only weak point of the movie is the character development, in particular of the Katharina Parker character. When Tess runs off with her fiancee and she ends up fired with a broken leg, you can´t help but feel sorry for her.

But all together Working Girl is a highly enjoyable movie which you shouldn´t miss!

Favourite scenes:

- Tess discovering her boyfriend in bed with another girl ("I can explain!")
- Katharina lying in the hospital, slapping at the nurses while talking on the phone with Tess.
- Later in the movie Katharina calls Tess and there´s an actual party going on in her hospital room, which all doctors and nurses dancing around.
- Jack stripteasing in his office (actually putting on another shirt) and all his (female) colleagues clapping and cheering.
- Katharina´s return to the office (have you ever seen anybody looking that angry??)
- actually every scene with Katharina Parker in it (saves much space, LOL)
