Revised Step by Step for mvb's Flash OK, guys and gals I hope it works better this time. I removed the html format that appeared in the previous post. Now if this post the way I want it to it should be nothing but pure text. So, here goes.:rolleyes: ============= If you want to set up the flash presentation provided by member/mvb at Freeservers.com. Here is how we did it. We hope these step by step instructions will help someone. =============== 1) Enter desired user name: [ mine is wilkinslr.8k.com & this one has no banner: http://gpcflash.8k.com/ ] 2) Fill in form with personal information and password. 3) We unchecked all boxes so that we would not get boomed with unwanted ads. 4) Enter Security code provided by http://Freeservers.com, then hit submit. 5) Uncheck all deals offered ( If you get enough unwanted mail ) then clicked NEXT. 6) In the To Do List on the left hand top corner Click Build My Site [a new page appears] 7) In the Main Menu on the left hand top corner click on Power Tools [a new page appears] 8) In the Main Menu click on File Manager [ a new page appears] 9) In the body of the page you will see a gray button titled File Manager 2.0 click on it [a new page appears in a new window] 10) At the top of this page you will see the following pull down links: File - Edit - View - Sort 11) Click on the file drop down button 12) A drop down file appears that looks like this: File ======= refresh ======= new file new folder upload file ======== edit rename move copy delete ======== change directory command line ======== quit 13) In this drop down menu click on new file [a script prompt box will appear saying newfile.html ]. 14) Rename this as index.html and click OK a new window will appear that says: Editing File with a box to the right of it that will contain this following text: /index.html 15) Now go to: http://www.gpsignup.8m.com/html.htm then copy and paste mvb's html code into the blank window box. Be certain that you change mvb's member name to yours. (Note: for a back up you may want to save this html code in Note Pad and in your own computer files). 16) Next in the upper left just above the words Editing File click on the drop down button. 17) Then click on save in this drop down menu. 18) Next click on the drop down menu button again and click on quit 19) Now a new page appears and you should see the following items: a. One yellow folder titled File Box - Title: Directory b. One file listed as index.html - Type: Text/html c. One file listed as main.html - Type: Text/html 20) Next click on index.html and you will see a new window appear with your flash url in the address and mvb's flash ad for GP Members will appear. 21) Finally, click on the Sign Up link to insure that you have made the proper change in the html code so that visitors are directed to your unique Going Platinum Member Site. 22) One last thing if you want to get rid of the banner at the top simply sign up for paid site. It is only $29.95 for 6 months. To me it is worth it so that visitors are now tempted to click on the banner ads before they watch the GP Flash presentation.
