My Jonathan Experience at Planet Hollywood
Written by Gina

When I read that Jonathan and Richard Jackson were going to be at Planet Hollywood, I just knew I had to go. Finally after months of adoring Jonathan on GH, he was coming to New York City. I couldn't even believe it. The person I knew had to come with me was my best friend but of course she had a final that day and bailed (how dare she choose higher education over me - the wounds are still healing) Anyways, with her out of the picture and most of my friends unaware of my JJ obsession, hehe, I decided to call on my Dad. He basically called into work and said he had ebola or something and went to Planet Hollywood to help me take pictures as I videotapes.
So, we get there around 12:00pm and decided to sit at the bar and hang out. I didn't even know any fellow JJaholics or Brigaders yet but I did talk to some really nice people. So, my Dad and I are sitting and talking and my back is to the door. Next thing you know my Dad says, "Gina turn around." I turned and there was Jonathan and Richard behind him and I'm like 'Oh my God he is so beautiful.' We get up and see that he goes into this room towards the presentation area of the restaurant.
We stand in front and I start talking to the guard and he tells me that Jonathan will be out shortly. He was also nice enough to move me so I would have a better video taping angle. He rocked!! So this dude comes out, and introduces Jonathan and he comes out and this small crowd starts screaming. He was really gracious and seemed slightly embarressed by all the attention. Then Jonathan donated the basketball from DEOTO to the restaurant and introduced Richard. After 10 minutes, they were done and sequestered back into the room.
My dad left and stood talking to some unofficial Brigaders that were really cool. The guard told us that JJ and RLJ would be coming out in about a half hour but probably wouldn't have time to sign anything. We didn't even care, we waited anyways. Then Jonathan came out and we got to him first. He was really, really sweet!! He apoligized to one of the girls I was with who said that she had met him the other night before a charity event in Boston. He said that he was completly out of it and that he really wasn't himself. I took out my Clash cd for him to sign and he was so psyched. He was like 'Wow that is so cool that you have this!' I guess he thought only the West Coast was feeling Scarlet Road. The he was like ' You know our CD is coming out soon and its going to be on Amazon.com which is a huge step for us cause it means more people are going to be able to get it.' We actually had a cool conversation a few minutes before he had to go. The funny thing was that I spoke with Richard next and had him sign the CD. Almost as if on cue, he said, 'You know our CD is coming our soon.' I laughed out loud and told him his brother had just said the same exact thing to me. He laughed and said something like them being alike and sharing the same brain or something like that. Richard was so cool. Shortly after that, they were escorted out.
All in all, it was a great day. What I was most impressed about was that JJ and RLJ were really down to earth and seemed to be unaffected by all the adulation. I also love how both of them stare right into your eyes when they speak to you and make you feel like that whatever you have to say is valid. They were great. Well that is my experience!!!! Take care!

A Day I Will Never Forget
Written by Diane

"It was Monday, March 8, 1999--the day I laid eyes on the most beautiful man alive-Jonathan Jackson! A day I'll never forget and treasure always.
I woke up at 6 am that morning cause I knew Jonathan was going to be on the radio in New York City promoting 'The Deep End Of The Ocean', so I was up at the crack of dawn waiting to hear him. Just hearing his voice on the radio was so exhilarating-I could not believe in a short few hours I was going to actually see him! After the interview, I got myself ready (had to look good for Jon LOL) and headed out to Manhattan. I reached 57th at around 11:30 am and walked towards Planet Hollywood. I saw some of my fellow JJaholics there and looked on over to a sign that read 'Jonathan and Richard Lee Jackson', needless to say I was freaking out! It was real, he was going to be there! He wasn't going to arrive until 1 pm, so the rest of the JJaholics and I went inside and ordered some lunch. It was at that time that I noticed there was a poster of DEOTO ready to be signed by Jon himself, I was SO freaking out with excitment and anticipation. I could barely eat, I was constantly checking my watch to see if I was 1 pm yet..the minutes were literally like hours. Finally around 12:50 pm, HE walks through the front entrance of the restaurant with Richard behind him! My heart was racing and I could not believe my eyes. He quickly walked through the restaurant and headed towards a room near the back and goes inside while a load of press people and photographers come out. So about ten minutes go by and Jon still hasn't come out of the room, we wait and wait and wait. FINALLY an announcer comes out and says 'welcome everyone we have a very special guest today..from General Hospital, he plays Lucky Spencer, please welcome Mr. Jonathan Jackson!' He walks out and immediately gets lost in behind the press and photographers--I managed to run up and squeeze myself in there just to get a look at him. I took as many pictures as possible while he signed the DEOTO poster and donated the basketball from the movie to the restaurant! It all went by SO fast, he spoke a little, but I was too freaked out to hear a word he said and the next thing I knew he went back to that room with Richard and that was IT! One of the bouncers at the restaurant told us he would be back out shortly but he was in a rush to get to another interview so there would be no time for autographs, we didn't care we just wanted to get another glimpse of him! So we waited and waited again for what seemed like a half hour and he comes out of the room with Richard and heads towards us near the bar! He stops and talks with the L&L2 brigaders and signs autographs and chat for a bit. Then he walks towards us and he was as close as could! I'm in absolute heaven, this boy is ten times more beautiful in real, I'm taking pictures frantically and literally shaking with excitement. He and Richard quickly sign more autographs and he even takes a picture with one of the girls! As he headed out the door, I saw as this girl next to me reached over and grabbed his hand and he smiled at her and squeezed her hand back, it was so sweet!
I was SO in shock, I had memorized exactly the way he looked and every move he made! He was wearing black jeans, the black nikes, a silver cross, the plaid jacket, with a grey shirt, and a black coat over it and of course the earring! It all happened SO fast but it's engraved in my memory--those piercing blue eyes are pretty hard NOT to forget! So he and Richard run out of the restaurant and head towards the limo, as they walk out I immediately follow them and I am literally like two inches behind Richard! Then one of the bouncers cut in and let them go into the limo and the were off :(
This all occured in a matter of two hours but it was AMAZING! The best thing was that there were few fans around so it wasn't overly crowded and we got a chance to really see him and Richard up close! So that's my story, it was truly a memorable day!"
