Viewers familiar with the teen heartthrob Jonathan Jackson via his "General Hospital" emoting will be in for a shock when ABC's movie, "Trapped in a Purple Haze" airs this season. The 17-year old plays a heroin addict in the telepic and, says "Haze" director Thomas Carter, "I don't think anyone's seen
him - on the soap or anything else - do any of the kind of work he does in this movie. Jonathan is a very clean kid, very bright and very driven - and he did a lot of research and worked very hard to nail the behavior of an addict, something compltely out of his range of experience". JoBeth Williams
plays Jackson's mother in the movie, which Carter describes as being about "a middle class kid who is not from a broken home, not poor, who develops an addiction to heroin".
